When your are told to explore the inciting incidents within books to use for your own novel, it can be confusing as to what that means.
Inciting incident is the moment or event that changes your character’s and sets them on their journey that goes from the beginning until the end of the book.
So, my challenge for you is to post one inciting incident from your book down below in the comment area! π
Ready..get set..and go!!!
So in olden days this would have been “the Calling”? My inciting incident right now… I suppose mine is a strange one, since the reader isn’t actually privy to it. Devon (the main character) is at a party with Audrey (the supporting character) and he develops an attachment/desire that leads him to try to bring her down. Audrey has her own inciting incident later, but she isn’t necessarily the one who changes in the novel.
This is a good question to consider! Thanks!
