Book Review: The Widow Wager by Jess Michaels

The Widow Wager is an enticing historical romance that readers will love. Jess Michaels has spun a wonderful story that readers will not be able to put down. Characters are charming, smart, and luring. Both characters have suffered a deep loss that has them both spinning out of control but not before fate intervenes once again forcing the two of them together.

Gemma a very passionate woman is soon made the most unwanted wife around and constantly placed within gossip. Her older husband dies during their love making. Gemma  now hides her passionate side until a younger man than her husband comes along into her life. Causing a stir within her to waken. Crispin Finn may be the one man to right her world. He lost a woman to his brother who was forced into a life that he never wanted. Crispin took to drinking and gambling away his life when he is forced into a bet to make Gemma his wife.  Can these two tortured souls finally find the love they were seeking? Or will lies and secrets keep their passion from turning to love? And will fate be so cruel as to take them away from each other just when it placed them together?

A brilliant and well story that will capture readers hearts. The characters are easy to relate to and the compelling novel will keep readers turning the pages until the very last page has been read. Hot, entertaining, and warming romance unlike most. Enticing is the way Jess Michaels writes hooking readers in from the beginning. I fell in love with both Gemma and Crispin. They are strong and passionate and delightful to read. I definitely recommend reading The Widow Wager. It’s one promising read that readers everywhere can’t miss. Overall, I rate it a five out of five stars.
