Review: Collision

Synopsis:
Some secrets are better left untold…

When eighteen-year-old Kara Jones gets into a car accident on the way home from college, she’s left with more than a few bruised ribs, a busted cell phone, and a totaled car. After a slip-up at the hospital, she’s shaken to discover that her family isn’t all it seems. And now her mother’s strange behavior and willingness to do anything to protect her secrets—including pulling Kara out of school—have Kara floundering in the dark.

Enter Derek Miller, a former classmate who’s dealing with family issues of his own. His nerdy charm is too much for Kara to resist, and she’s even more amazed when he agrees to help her dig into her mother’s past. Together they investigate her mother’s old friends and boyfriends, hoping to discover who Kara really is. Instead, they find disturbing connections to the dark history of Kent State University, and an ever expanding maze of mystery surrounding Kara’s birth.

As Kara and Derek chase secrets, she realizes he’s the only person she can trust. But as they get closer to the truth, the disturbing answers reveal a web of evil far darker and further reaching than they’d imagined, leaving Kara to wish she’d never asked the questions in the first place.

My Rating: 5 stars

My Review:

Collision by Kate L. Mary is a well-written romance, that will drag readers in deeply. A story that will bring readers into the destiny of the two brilliantly created protagonists. Kara and Derek seem to meet again just like fate has placed them. Derek once a plain and nerdy boy, is now a man that will make any woman blush. I loved reading as the characters meet once again after so much time. Both have changed and grown into full adults. Soon, they will be headed on a journey together. Not just finding love but one much more dangerous than readers expected. The suspense and fear hang, in the air, on every page. This quickly leads readers to turning the pages, in a haste, to find out what happens next.

Collision was my very first novel I have read by Kate L. Mary. Her words are magnifcently intriguing. From the first page and onward readers will be interested in what Collision has in store for them. This romantic suspense novel will lure readers back every time. A story that has mystery, danger, and drama that will keep reades glued in, until the ending. Kara the main protagonist takes readers into suspense immediately with her car accident and then into danger as she digs into dark secrets.  Secrets that may lead to more danger than she wanted. However, she doesn’t embrace this frigthening trail by herself. She seeks help, from a man she knows. Together they set off, to finding answers. Answers that Kara may not want to know after all. Kate L. Mary’s fictional world is fascinating and well-developed. The characters are believable in way, that will leave readers waiting on the edge of their seats. I absolutely loved this tale, and I would highly recommend it to all.
