“What is this place?” Hadley asked, looking around the dark paneled entryway.

“This is our home,” Aunt Charmaine said. “Welcome to Grimm House.”

When Hadley’s parents leave on a cruise and then are reported lost at sea, her perfect world is turned upside down. In a flash she is whisked away to a new life of drudgery at Grimm House where she waits on not one but two persnickety old aunts. As she grudgingly fulfills their commands of cooking, cleaning, and even after-dinner-dancing, she comes to suspect the aunts are really witches who are scheming to take the thing she loves best.

With only her wits and the help of some unlikely new friends, Hadley makes a plan to escape Grimm House and find her way home before it’s too late.

For ages 7 – 11, or those who are young at heart.

Review:

The Grimm House by Karen McQuestion is masterfully written in a way that will automatically send readers deep inside the book. I highly recommend this phenomenal story to readers worldwide. It doesn’t matter what your age is…this novel will blow readers away with it’s mysterious plot and the suspense of what happens next…

The danger is real and there are two crazy mean aunts and one little girl. This is definitely for fans of The Series of Unfortunate Events as well as Goosebumps. Eerie, dark, and brilliantly wrapped up for readers entertainment is Grimm House. For those who remember James and the Giant Peach, this story starts out similar to that but with a more haunting theme that leaves readers sweating with fear…

Karen McQuestion has written this novel with many themes in mind. Love, courage, and friendship are just a few of these. Once you read this book, you won’t want to put it down. A young who is left with her two aunts is stuck to a life of hardship and mistreatment. She happens find friends in an unusal way…I absolutely loved this thrilling adventure. Overall, I highl recommend the Grimm House to readers worldwide. I can’t wait to see what Karen McQuestion comes up with next!
