Review: Fool Me Once

In the course of eight consecutive #1 New York Times bestsellers, millions of readers have discovered Harlan Coben’s page-turning thrillers, filled with his trademark edge-of-your-seat suspense and gut-wrenching emotion. In Fool Me Once, Coben once again outdoes himself.

Former special ops pilot Maya, home from the war, sees an unthinkable image captured by her nanny cam while she is at work: her two-year-old daughter playing with Maya’s husband, Joe—who had been brutally murdered two weeks earlier. The provocative question at the heart of the mystery: Can you believe everything you see with your own eyes, even when you desperately want to? To find the answer, Maya must finally come to terms with deep secrets and deceit in her own past before she can face the unbelievable truth about her husband—and herself.

Rating: 5 stars

Fool Me Once by Harlan Coben is absolutely a riveting read. This was my first read novel of Harlan Coben’s. I was immediately impressed with his writing from the first page. The unknown factor…a haunting past, and a terror unlike any other come together in this exciting story. Unexpected twists, an emotional journey that will send shivers and sweat dripping from every reader is to be expected from this stunning and well-written novel. For readers who like a fast-paced and thrilling adventure that will leave your hair standing up, then this is definitely the novel for you.

Harlan Coben has masterfully woven a story surrounding a question…do you believe what you are seeing or is there something else? A woman husband is killed…past demons come back to haunt her and something is off…What it is…is something every reader has to find out on their own. A promising thriller that brings more than enough fear, suspense, and action to keep readers turning the pages. This is one thriller readers cannot read at night without losing sleep over what one has just read.  The scenes are vivid and the characters will drag readers deeper, into the heart of danger. Inside, readers will find a death that happened and men that may not have committed the crime but are being held responsible…then two weeks after a husband’s death the wife sees her husband alive and on tape. Her thoughts…could it be possible…will have readers second guessing it themselves. Mindblowing…and perfectly developed Fool Me Once is a novel that I highly recommend to readers worldwide. After reading this, readers will see why this is indeed the most talked about thriller.
