Review: The Reluctant Duchess

Synopsis:

A Riveting Edwardian Series Set among Britain’s High Society

Lady Rowena Kinnaird may be the heiress to a Highland earldom, but she has never felt good enough–not for her father, not for the man she thought she’d marry, not for God. But after a shocking attack, she’s willing to be forever an outcast if it means escaping Loch Morar.

Brice Myerston, the Duke of Nottingham, has found himself in possession of a rare treasure his enemies are prepared to kill for. While Brice has never been one to shy away from manor-born ladies, the last thing he needs is the distraction of Lady Rowena, who finds herself in a desperate situation. But when Rowena’s father tries to trap Brice into marrying his daughter, Brice makes a surprising decision.

Rowena wanted to escape the Highlands, but she’s reluctant to marry a notorious flirt. And when she learns that Brice is mixed up in questionable business with a stolen treasure, she fears she’s about to end up directly in the path of everything she was trying to avoid.

Review:

The Reluctant Duchess by Roseanna M. White is an intriguing historical fiction piece that will leave readers amazed. This novel has it all. Danger, suspense, and romance all perfectly presented to readers everywhere. The plot is steady and with the right amount of intrigue that will keep readers turning the pages faster.

Inside this newly released novel, Roseanna M. White introduces readers to a strong independent woman who is being threatened and hopes to leave her situation to find a better place. However, she is soon put into a new position that leaves her wondering if she has put herself back into danger’s arms or if there’s a chance of survival…She is paired up to a man who has known many women and with the news of his recent troubles, Lady Rowena is afraid. Then, there’s Brice the Duke of Nottingham. He finds Lady Rowena nothing but a great distraction from his trouble of keeping his treasure away from those who want it. A treasure that many will kill for is one to not worth keeping…or is it…Lady Rowena may or may not be carrying one man’s child…but if she is…then her life and the baby’s life will be danger from the father…The Reluctant Duchess is an amazing historical tale that shows women, that no matter what we can survive the odds if we try to…I loved how the Duke played a hero and how her father reacted…maybe things can turn out for the best after all. I enjoyed reading this story and look forward to the next adventure by Roseanna M. White. Overall, I highly recommend this magnificent story to all.
