Synopsis:
Bernie Robertson has a recurring nightmare of being pursued by a killer through a snowy desert. This nightmare could be the response to the stress of divorcing an abusive husband and raise a daughter alone, or it could be the repressed memory of an actual event.
When Bernie’s husband is arrested and her apartment trashed, Bernie makes the decision to move to Texas and search for her birth mother. There she meets and begins falling in love with Mike West, a man with a secret he is trying to hide. When she begins the search for her birth mother in earnest, she is plunged into a terrifying situation where the event she is struggling to remember might be the thing that puts her and her daughter in terrible jeopardy.
