Review: Scar Tissue

Synopsis:

When successful model Ciara Kelly wakes up in the hospital, remembering nothing of the weeks she has been missing, her only clues are the ugly words carved into her skin. According to the police, she was a victim of the Cutter, a serial killer who has already murdered three women. For her protection the police and her doctors give a press conference, announcing that because her amnesia is organically caused, her memory loss is permanent. But, whether her memory returns or not is anybody’s guess.
Overnight, Ciara’s glamorous life is gone. Her scars have killed both her modelling career and her relationship with her rich boyfriend. With nothing to keep her in New York, she returns to her hometown of Seattle, moves in with her sister and goes about building a new life. But when her sister lets it slip that Ciara’s memory is returning, the killer comes after her again. If Ciara is to stay alive, she must keep one step ahead of the Cutter.

Review:

Scar Tissue by M. C. Domovitch is a thriller that kept me wide awake and on the edge of my seat. The terror of running away from the danger in the beginning to waking up from a coma and not remembering a thing…only to know that the killer is still out there and may come after her. Ciara Kelly was a beautiful model until someone went after her. Terrible words like whore and slut carved into her skin…as well as other beatings. The intensity and fear of what happened and what’s to come to Ciara yet…kept me turning the pages quickly. Fast-paced and brilliantly well-written tale that keeps readers in suspense thinking who could really be the killer. There’s a whole family, who have a motive for hurting Ciara…especially since she’s a model and dating one of the son’s. Of course, her career isn’t morally acceptable for his family inheritance…

Scar Tissue is exactly as it sounds…a young woman is scarred both inside and out with all of the fear, running, and almost death experiences. It’s no wonder she’s on the run. After her sister is mistakenly killed, Ciara knows that the killer won’t stop until he has her dead. What she doesn’t know is that a dead man is alive and a serious maniac. One who is known as the cutter. Then there’s a person everyone should be able to trust who planned for her death with the serial killer. Money in millions does a lot to people…some go crazy enough to commit murder after murder…M. C. Domivitch is indeed a talented writer whose words pulled me deep inside this dark, frightening, and suspenseful thriller. I didn’t know who the serial killer was nor who his partner was until the very ending. Ciara is one lucky woman so they say…but will she be lucky enough to escape alive for the last time? Overall, I absolutely loved reading this exciting and masterfully woven piece. I highly recommend it to readers everywhere.
