Set in 1984, in a world before sexting and texting, this “lushly written and emotional” New Adult romance stars redheaded spelling champion Ruby Michaels, who meets the wrong kind of man on the eve of her departure from St. Thomas for college, when fireworks ensue. “I won’t be derailed by anyone—no matter how handsome and interesting,” she vowed.
But some promises are made to be broken.
Surfer, sailor, handyman Rafe is fleeing grief and his family’s opulent lifestyle. In Ruby’s passionate innocence he finds a woman he’s willing to sail the globe to pursue. “I am a pirate,” he tells her. “When I see a treasure I want, I’ll do anything to get it.”

Review:
Somewhere on St. Thomas by Toby Neal is a sexy romance. I was got up by the instant connection the two main characters had. Just one meeting was all it took. Ruby has this thing about sailors…not good enough for her. Or so she said until Rafe came into her life. Right after winning the spelling bee, her mom introduced her to Rafe. Ruby of course is heading off to college in Boston. Rafe goes sailing out in the ocean…never would work out or would it? Ruby sets Rafe off like a bunch of fireworks. All she did was be herself and show off her sport skills. That and her beauty has him hooked. He’s ruined. No other redhead will do. Only Ruby. Ruby isn’t a saint. She wants sex. Rafe sets her down that path of sexual wanting that it frightens her. She runs away scared. But before she leaves the island…Rafe comes back to say goodbye but leaves her something. From there the novel picked up rather quickly. I was intrigued. These two could make any readers blush far worse than Ruby’s worst blushing spells. The heat comes off the pages. Their intense love and attraction made this felt so real. Their life it seems is connected. Somewhere on St. Thomas is a hot read. Heat, action, and believable characters. Once more, Toby Neal has created a stunning world of fiction. One that lured me deep into its depth and had me wanting more. I loved it. I do recommend this for those eighteen and older due to the adult content inside…other than that I highly recommend it to all.
