Swan Point by Sherryl Woods is a heartfelt novel. A feel good women’s fiction. The tale features abusives husbands and nast divorces. Kids are involved and it’s up to the mothers to fight back. I was surprised to see who saved the day. A teenager struggles with her new life with her mom and siblings. She’s afraid to let another man near her or her mom again…but something about the new man…has her opening her heart to possibilities.
Gabe struggled as a kid when his mom made bad choices. He fought off kids who made fun of his mom. The town’s gossip hurt both his mom and him. After his mom died, he left Serenity. Now, as a grown man he comes back home. There he meets Aedila and her kids. They leave footprints on his mind and heart.
Adelia is a woman and single mother. Her divorce is just been done. Her kids and her move into a new house. The younger kids don’t understand it all yet. But her oldest, Selena does. Their dad cheated on their mom and tried using the kids against their mom. Selena hates her father for good reason. Adelia feels a tug towards the handsome Gabe. But her cheating husband isn’t done messing with her and the kids…
Swan Point brings up a lot of issues. It was messy, complicated, and sweet. Sherryl Woods knows how to lure readers deep into her books. I was both intrigued and hooked. The plot was believable and realistic. The characters have a way of wrapping around my heart. I cried and laughed. Overall, I highly recommend this novel to all.
