Review:
A Brush with The Beast by Richard Sones is quite a dark tale. Destruction, destiny, and a darkness covers the entire book. The language would set most readers away from the book. However, it has a three person viewpoint that is interesting. I see three different characters each with their own tale that comes winding together. Sad and intense…every page only adds to the level of darkness. A struggling woman, an ambitious man, and a revengeful young boy make this a thrilling read. I did not like the characters. It felt like each were drowning in their own ways and then only using others like puppets. I didn’t care for that. I couldn’t feel a connection to the characters directly. Despite the language, it was still an adventure that entertained me.
