A ghost. A killer. A man.
All three want to be a part of Elizabeth’s life… but for very different reasons.
Diary of a Dead Dreamer by N.C. Cummings is a dark read. It has a haunting theme. Action, consequences, and evil lies ahead. A young girl goes to college and her life falls apart instantly. Meeting one new girl, could destroy her completely. Elizabeth meets Sadie. There’s a lot of torture involved and many may not like it. Physical, emotional, and mental abuse happens on these pages. Nightmares that felt so real. The characters played their role just like they were meant to…however, I didn’t like them. I couldn’t like the girl who fell victim. Watching as she let her life fall apart was hard to do. I can’t stand characters who are crazy enough to let bad people torture them. The woman was at an age where she knew right versus wrong. Yet, she allowed herself to be hurt in a repetitive fashion. Chilling, frightening, and gruesome are the words I’d use to describe this thriller. As a reader, I couldn’t connect with the victim at all. That put me off from liking this title. Diary of a Dead Dreamer offers everything a thriller should offer. Overall, it was good but not my favorite.
