Review: The Cursed

The Cursed (Krewe of Hunters, #12)

Synopsis:

Hannah O’Brien, who grew up in the house and now runs it as a B and B, has always had a special ability to see a pair of resident ghosts. But when a man is murdered in the alley behind her place, she’s dismayed when his spirit appears, too, asking for help.

FBI agent Dallas Samson has a passionate interest in the murder, since the victim’s a colleague whose death is connected to the smuggling ring known as Los Lobos—the wolves. Now Dallas is even more committed to chasing them down….

Unaware that Dallas has certain abilities of his own, Hannah calls her cousin Kelsey O’Brien, a member of the FBI’s Krewe of Hunters, an elite unit of paranormal investigators. The present-day case is linked to a historical mystery involving salvagers, a curse and a sunken ship. Danger and desire bring Hannah and Dallas together, but to survive, they have to solve the mysteries of the past—and stay alive long enough to solve the crimes of the present!

Review:

The Cursed by Heather Graham is phenomenal. It contains all of the suspense, mystery, and intrigue that readers like me need in a book. Plus, there’s the bubbling romance between the main characters. I enjoyed the friendly ghosts, and the serial killer (whom I couldn’t guess). The bad guys were so believable. The novel was realistic in its telling. The story was woven in a way that made it flawless. Nothing was slow. In fact, this book, was action-packed and fast-paced. If you love to read romantic suspense read that keep you guessing and with a paranormal twist, than this is definitely for a perfect read! I loved the characters. The touch of humor on the pages was done well, too.

Inside this story, I followed a woman whose bed and breakfast business gets a bad rep. Not because she wasn’t a good hostess or ghost tour leader. But because someone was murdered and died on her property. That isn’t all of it, a deadly foe has targeted her business as the place to find the key to his treasure…only she and the others can’t figure it what that could be. Ghosts haunting the place help out and new members show up. Next, there’s the brooding FBI hottie who is nothing but a jerk at first. He slowly melts and is likable. Together, this crew has to solve the murders and the mystery. However, every time they get close, the danger and risks escalates out of control.
