Review:
Lord Holt Takes a Bride by Vivienne Lorret is a sweet heartfelt historical that swept me off my feet. I found myself wanting to know more about the featured couple, Lord Holt and the heiress, Winn. Winn is an innocent woman who says things that make are charming, straight to the point, and innocent. Then there’s Asher, aka Lord Holt, who is bold, experienced, and hurt by the world just as much as Winn is. I loved how he wanted to rip her gowns off but also, treated her with the most respect. It was a tug of war for him to control his feelings.
The more they were together, the more they fell in love with each other. Winn is warned about unhappy marriage to titled man who doesn’t love her. So, she decides to run away. Asher helps her on her journey to get home to her aunt safely. But while on the run, Asher’s evil father will stop at nothing to gain all the money Asher may have.
Bullets to scammers, Asher and Winn have their hands full of adventure and action. The story was fast-paced and entertaining. I loved every moment with this group of characters. The parents of Winn also had a tiny journey of their own to make. Overall, it was full of hot moments, humor, love, and forgiveness.
