Review: Dark Ambitions

Dark Ambitions (Code of Honor #3)

Former Army Night Stalker Rick Jordan usually has his camp for foster children to himself during the winter months. But someone has visited recently–leaving a trail of blood. One of the two clues left behind tips Rick off to the identity of his visitor, who soon turns up dead. The police deem it an accident, but Rick isn’t convinced. With the help of private investigator Heather Shields, he sets out to decipher the remaining clue. Except someone doesn’t want them to succeed–and will stop at nothing to keep them from finding the truth.

With her trademark psychological suspense ratcheting up the tension on every page, bestselling and award-winning author Irene Hannon takes you on a search for a cold-blooded killer with an ambitious goal and deadly intent.

Rating: 5-stars

Irene Hannon has once again, brought out another suspenseful yet dark read. Instantly, I was taken into a plan of murder. The man behind the arrangement is stressed out when news that the murder victim got away. But not for long…or at least that’s what the murderer says. I felt fear, anger, and sadness sweep through me. Sympathy for the intended victim came easily. I wanted the bad guys to suffer. But there’s other characters who come into play and they stole my heart and attention. The scenes flew by quickly. The action and danger escalated. New risks were introduced after knowing the protagonists. From the start, this writer, captured my interest. I was deeply involved in her characters’ journey. Their story was engaging from the get go. Irene Hannon is a romantic suspense writer that should be on everyone’s must read list. Her books like Dark Ambitions took me straight into the story and had me wishing it would never end.
