USA Today bestselling author Vivienne Lorret continues her charming new trilogy with a bluestocking whose search for information on the mating habits of scoundrels has her stumbling upon the missing heir to an earldom… in the London underworld.
Jane Pickerington never intended to start a brawl in a brothel. She only wanted to research her book. Yet when her simple study of scoundrels goes awry, she finds herself coming to the rescue of a dark, enigmatic stranger… who turns out to be far more than an average rake out for a night of pleasure. He’s positively wild!
Only the most feral and cunning could have survived foundling homes and work houses. Orphaned as an infant, Raven never had another name. At least… not until he meets her. Now he’s face-to-face with the one person who recognizes the strange birthmark on his arm and can reinstate him to his blue-blooded birthright.
All at once, Raven’s life takes a turn. His knowledge of dark alleys and gaming hells never prepared him for gilded ballrooms. So Jane becomes his tutor. Yet, the more lessons in decorum she offers, the more this untamed scoundrel wants to teach her all the ways to be wicked.
My Kind of Earl by Vivienne Lorret is the novel readers such as myself have been waiting to read! Inside, I met a heroine unlike any other. She is frustratingly the most curious and smartest lady ever. This woman has a knack for information and caring for others. Here, she bumps into a man who turns out to be in the same class as herself only they don’t know that until later. He is just as curious as she is but only where she is concerned.
Something about this debutante, has him hooked. A man who can afford any woman’s attention if wanted and he only wants her attention. The more time he spends with the lady the more he doesn’t want to live without her. She lights up his dark world. The hero believes his parents didn’t want him and that how he ended up in a children’s home. He always thought no one loved him. The annoying yet brave woman, Jane, somehow finds that he’s not only a member of the rich society but he also has family that is still alive.
Together, these two characters banter back and forth and I loved every moment. They happen to get into a lot of trouble as well, but that’s what kept this book so interesting. There was never a dull moment with these characters. I enjoyed the minor characters as well. Overall, this novel was entertaining, hilarious, sweet, and sexy.
