Review: Present Danger

Present Danger (Rocky Mountain Courage, #1)

Synopsis:

Former FBI Special Agent Jack Tanner is working as a detective in Montana when he comes across a body in the national forest during a search and rescue mission. He’s committed to finding the killer, even if it means working alongside his old flame, US Forest Service Special Agent Terra Connors.

When Terra discovers that the murder victim had ties to a powerful and dangerous trafficker of archaeological artifacts, the investigation takes a deadly turn–one that hits too close to home. As Terra fears she lacks the courage to face what comes next, Jack is more determined than ever to protect her. But he’s failed her before. And if he fails this time, it will cost them far more than just their hearts.

Review:

Present Danger is a fast-paced thriller. It is a clean yet suspenseful read. I am surprised at every turn. Elizabeth Goddard writes in a compelling way. I enjoyed following her characters as one stumbled across a deadly investigation and the other comes in to help. They have a past that prevents their full trust to bloom at first. But as the crime investigation proves more dangerous than before, they put aside their issues and work together. I loved how each one was committed to doing the right thing. There were huge risks with each step they made. It could go from dangerous to deadly so quickly. Action-packed scenes kept me excited and entertained. The writer made it difficult to guess at what will happen next and who was involved. Heart-stopping moments only added to the danger. The protagonists made this a phenomenal read. One that I will never forget. Present Danger is the first novel in the Rocky Mountain Courage series. I highly recommend all my suspense, thriller, and action readers to check out this superb book. It was a blast! I cannot wait to see what will come next in this series.
