King of Battle and Blood by Scarlett St. Clair is the most epic paranormal romance I have read. I had to re-read this book twice. The first time, it went by so fast, I had to read it again. It was just that good! The book was dark, bold, and full of fighting. A vampire king comes to invade a land full of individual kingdoms. He lost his only love only to find her again. He wages war and fights for his woman. He finds her only she won’t know her past until much later in the book. Until then, this strong female heroine fights him every step of the way. She is not the usual princess. Isolde makes her own choices. She does not hesitate to fight for her own freedom. She is a fierce warrior and trained to be a queen. Adrian makes her his queen. She tries killing him twice and tries fighting the attraction she feels for the monster destroying her kingdom and people. But the real truth leaks out and there is a traitor among their mist…

I loved this romantic suspense/paranormal novel. It was complicated, unique, and engaging the whole way. Blood, gore, wars, and romance all in one amazing book. I cannot wait to read the next grand adventure by Scarlett St. Clair!
