Review:

Unraveling by Sara Ella is an unforgettable fantasy. The second book in the trilogy set. I was hooked. A magical place full of action, suspense, and intrigue. It was an epic emotional journey. One that swept me off my seat and pulled me directly into its world. The main character El is quite interesting. Determined, brave, and hopeful. Her connection to Ky, a ghost is lost in a way. But still lingers. Only if El can remember…him. The story was heartfelt, engaging, and romantic. Fast-paced. The danger, mystery, and characters have pulled me in closer to the world. I can’t wait to read the next book. Sara Ella writes well. I got lost within her pages. Felt the rush of excitement, fear, and loss. This is one book that I recommend not only to teens, but also to adults. It was addictive. Superb. Unraveling is a masterpiece readers must read.

Review:

Home on the Range by Ruth Logan Herne is the second novel in the Double S Ranch series. A Christian fictional piece that warms my heart immediately. Love, family, and letting go of the past are just a few themes found within the pages. I was inspired. The reality of the charcaters’ situations plus, their past keep them from moving forward. Their struggles are wonderful to watch as the story unfolds. One of the brothers featured at the Double S Ranch thought he could make for a better father than the one he had. But then, life throws him lemons. His wife leaves him and his daughters are struggling in school. Then, comes a woman who can help him and his daughters. Her magic touch and his hope may bind them closer together than they ever expected…

Home on the Range shows readers that despite the obstacles life can move on…miracles, love, and hope can exist. Heartfelt, charming, and beleivable. Ruth Logan has once again, caught my attention with her beautifully written novel. I recommend it to all.

Review: Trout Run

Synopsis:

Eddy Trout, part-time bartender, and pot-grower had a troubled heart. In this, the second novel of the Eddy Trout Series, Eddy has left his wife and buried his father in a gone-to-seed garden, and now he’s running hard toward what he hopes is a new, brighter tomorrow. His sister, Em, has disappeared, and he’s got to find and “save” her. She turns up where they both swore they’d never return—Oak Creek, the small Oregon logging town of their childhood, where dark memories threaten … and may possibly free them.

Rating: 5-stars

Review:

Trout Run by Paul Allen Dage is a fascinating read. Dark, emotional, and haunting. This second novel in the Eddy Trout Series was engaging, suspenseful, and well-developed. I found the main character, Eddy Trout, as a man with many flaws. His past haunts him. His present seems to drag onward in a way that readers, like myself can feel he’s not happy with…a lot of interesting moments happen inside this book. Eddy Trout drifts further away from his wife. A good woman he doesn’t love anymore. Then, there’s his sister, whom he loves very much. She goes missing and Eddy is determined to find her. Last, Eddy finds himself in trouble. He went and did something deadly…like dumping his father in a garden. Anger, loss, grief and determination can be found on every page. The character’s journey is definitely like that of a rollercoaster. One never knows what to expect next. Paul Allen Dage’s writing is superb. His words have a way of dragging me deeper into Eddy’s life. The further I went, the more I found an explosive destiny ahead. The ending leaves my mind wondering what will come after this. Overall, I recommend this stunning piece to readers everywhere.

Review: The Children in the Garden

Synopsis:

Now that Mikey and his friends have solved the mystery of The Children Under the Ice they are off to solve another murder mystery with the help of a little girl ghost and her dark secret of the children in the garden.

Rating: 5-stars

Review:

The Children in the Garden by R. A. Douthitt is the second stunning piece to this series. I was wowed with the first book, and I’m definitely in love after reading this second one. R. A. Douthitt has done it again. Creating another masterpiece. A tale that both children and adults will enjoy reading. The characters are twelve-year-olds who solve murder cases with the help of ghosts.

One of the boys in particular can see all the ghosts. All it took was for him to play hockey on an ice pond and since then he has seen ghosts. The first was his uncle and uncle’s friends. Now, we meet a group of boy ghosts who are cruel. They were cruel when they were living and cruel after death. They haunt a garden called Kew Gardens. There they are called for help by a little girl ghost, Irelene.

She has been told by Mickey’s Uncle Kevin that Mickey is the guy to go to for help. Mickey at this point isn’t too thrilled about solving ghost crimes. His dad is now married to the nice librarian and he has a baby brother named after his Uncle Kevin. It seems after the bad good can happen. But little does Mickey know that the ghosts from the garden are in connections with the ghosts he will meet later. An old book called the Secret Garden with clues from Irelene and a group who want to get revenge on Mickey will keep readers entertained as well as frightened. I couldn’t stop reading it. This book was just as amazing as the first one. Humor, action, adventure, ghosts and danger….The Children in the Garden has it all. Overall, I highly recommend this novel to readers everywhere.

Review: June Jenson and the Coins of Cassidy

Synopsis:

June Jenson is back, and she’s in more trouble than ever. Still adjusting to her family’s recent exoneration from the Archeological world (they stole an artifact, caused a ruckus… it’s a long story), June decides to embark on a press tour to repair the image of her employer (Oxford University) and her (somewhat crazy, but altogether loveable) Grandfather.

When the opportunity arises to go to America to find a lost treasure belonging to the notorious outlaw Butch Cassidy, June know’s it isn’t something she can shy away from – even if she wasn’t exactly the one who was assigned by Oxford to the task. Along with the Professor, Dr. Cooke, and her emotionally-stilted boyfriend Griffin, June embarks on a treasure hunt in the wild mountains of Colorado. June hopes to make the discovery of a lifetime… that is, before anyone at Oxford realizes she’s left the country.

Rating: 5-stars

Review:

June Jenson and the Coins of Cassidy by Emily Harper is the perfect read. It has the right balance of mystery, intrigue, and romance. Once more, I was curious as to what lies ahead for the main character, June Jenson. There’s always some kind of adventure awaiting when following June. She’s bright, talented, and a lovable character. I truly enjoy watching June as she struggles to balance the tasks, dreams, relationship and work all at once. Emily Harper’s writing is superb. Humor, suspense, and exciting. Every page lures me further into the plot. June Jenson and the Coins of Cassidy is definitely a page turner. Dealing with her grandfather has gotten a bit better tho his Alzheimer’s is getting worse. Then, June’s lover, Griffin surprised me. It seems he’s grown as a character from the first novel. I can’t wait to see what is in store for these characters. At the ending, Emily Harper teases me with a slight taste of what may come in the next adventure. Overall, I highly recommend this new series to readers worldwide.

Review:

The Fellowship by William Tyree is the second installment to the best thriller series. Instantly, from the beginning readers are caught up in the danger. The plot moves so quickly there’s no time, to stop. The pages flow by faster than I expected. Death, a foreign country, and research that could be used as a deadly weapon are all woven into one fascinating read. The main character, Blake Carver is here to entertain readers as well as stop the deadly situation from escalating before it’s too late. I was intrigued. Think of a young person who is smart enough to create technology that can not only help the human race, but also destroy it if it were to go in the wrong hands…William Tyree has once more captured my attention inside his dark, thrilling, and highly engaging tale. I loved every moment. The suspense was powerful. Overall, I highly recommend this well-told novel to readers worldwide.

Checkmate: This is Love by Kennedy Fox is the second best installment to a sexy romance series. Take a bad boy player and a strong woman and the heat is on…both characters have a way of pulling me into their strong. I could felt their emeotions. The sensual play, their bantering, and  their frustrations. Sweet, hot, and addictive to read.

This second tale, continues where the first one left off…luring me back into the messy complicated world of Viola and King. There is more tan sexual heat going on…their are hearts on the line. I love the chemistry and the stubbornness of the characters. Kennedy Fox definitely knew how to draw me into her novel. Checkmate: This is Love is a book, I couldn’t stop reading. It’s the second part to an epic journey. Can’t wait to find out how it ends…overall, I recommend it to readers everywhere.

The second in a trilogy of fast-paced, high-stakes thrillers by the international bestselling author Emelie Schepp, Marked for Revenge involves the international drug trade and child trafficking and features the brilliant, enigmatic prosecutor Jana Berzelius, whose own dark past has, until recently, been hidden even from herself.

Rating: 5-stars

Review:

Marked for Revenge by Emelie Schepp is the second installment to one of the best and darkest thrillers ever. Immediately, I was drawn into the web of darkness. One that definitely surrounds the main character, Jana Berzelius. A prosecutor who goes to danger’s most i inviting places to get what she needs. Answers. Things like secrets, betrayals, and suspense have their way of always making it into Emelie Schepp’s novels. I felt compelled to know more. Even if that meant following, Jana Berzelius, to her death.

The characterization is amazing. I got more of an insider’s scoop with this book. More information on the main character’s life, is unveiled. Emelie Schepp has created another compelling read. She makes organized crime like child trafficking into one of the most horrendous nightmares yet. While, I wish these crimes were not being committed at all, the reality and fear of what happens is perfectly caught within this novel. The plot is fast-paced, complex, and bone chilling. Captivating, frightening, and engaging…Marked for Revenge is definitely a recommended read for all.

Review: Wired Rogue

‘Wired in’ to her computers, MMA-fighting tech agent Sophie Ang has been content in her clean, cool tech lab, where she chases criminals online, continuing a dance in the dark with the enigmatic vigilante known as the Ghost. Tumultuous changes from without and within eject her from her agency cocoon to the front lines, where she finds herself in partnership with a brilliant, overbearing, larger-than-life ex-Special Forces operative, Jake Dunn. They climb walls, dodge bullets, kidnap children and dig up bodies for a case that might cost her life—and has already taken her badge.

Rating: 5-stars

Review:

Wired Rogue by Toby Neal is like combing a thriller from Brenda Novak and the Bourne Series onto one compelling read. The danger was intense. The operations were realistic and the characters were amazing. An unknown enemy sent shivers down my spine. This tale was centered on a cult that used children. I felt frustrated and sad. The bad characters were real dirt bags. I haven’t read the previous novel before this one, but it was easy to follow. I understood what was happening and why. The main character, Sophie Ang, is super cool. She’s the woman every man wants on his team. Her skills are frightening good, yet she still manages to get injured several times throughout the book. There are moments her partner, Jake Dunn, thought she would die on him. I almost thought so too. But somehow fate, let her survive. Sophie Ang is a leading protagonist that readers will admire. Despite her obstacles and the number of times she could have died, she keeps on working.

Toby Neal has brilliantly created a thriller suspense. One that I won’t be forgetting. This story ends in a way that has me excited for what is to come. Sophia Ang and Jake Dunn have more work ahead…or at least I hope so. I have come to love these heroes. Wired Rogue is indeed a great title for this rough yet deadly plot. Fast-paced, mysterious, and a whole lot of action. Every page is thrilling to read. I couldn’t stop once, I started it. Never a dull moment inside Wired Rogue. Overall, I highly recommend this powerful novel to all.

Imagine exploring Mercy and Venus and finding valuable gems. Just being on the planets would be exciting enough. Knowing the tempartures and atmosphere stuff is fascinating. The combinations of what there are up of is interesting. The moon, sun, and space travel will definitely hook readers. I definitely was lured. Captivated by the story. The characters were refreshing and kept me turning the pages. Intrigue, educational, and adventure all wrapped into one brilliant read.  Kitty Hawk and the Hunt for Hemingway’s Ghost by Iain Reading is superb. Once more, I have been dragged into the adventures and mysteries that Kitty Hawk takes me through…she is truly a phenomenal character. Kitty is a teenage pilot who goes about traveling the world and solving mysteries. Sort of like Nancy Drew but much more interesting. Iain Reading has created a world of fiction that both entertains and educates readers. I love that about this series. Florida Keys is where this story takes place. Once there, Kitty finds mysterious situations that will only peak readers’ curiosity even more. Intriguing, spontaneous, and dangerous. Kitty Hawk had me holding my breath. Her bold ways of finding the truth is  crazy fun. Iain Reading kept me guessing with every page. The characters were perfectly suited for this book. I can see this novel as a cross-over read. All ages can find something to love about Kitty Hawk and the Hunt for Hemingway’s Ghost. Travel from home and engage in fun activities. Rating: 5-stars

Review:

Computer Love Inc. II: Gestation is the second stunning installment to a fascinating series. Both Kurt and Jessica Hansen have created a world in which readers will love. Once I opened the book, I was immediately transported into the scenes. Inside, readers will marvel at the scientific discoveries and computer technology. I was amazed. Artificial intelligence is a major topic and theme being explored by more and more scientists. The main character doing the same is believable. His creation is one that he should disable but can’t bring himself to do so…reminded me of Frankenstein a bit. Government politics plays another role of this novel. Marius is a CEO who has the power to create amazing things…and one of those things are wanted badly by the government. The results are mind blowing. Technology, future, and fantasy all wrapped into one marvelous title. Fast-paced, gripping, and highly entertaining. Computer Love Inc. II: Gestation will leave readers wondering what if…Truly a thrilling journey that I didn’t want to end. Overall, I highly recommend this to readers everywhere.

Rating: 5 stars

Review:

Leaving Amy by Julieann Dove is the second tale inside this amazing series. Once more, Julieann Dove has lured readers like myself into her fictional world. I loved following Amy, the leading character, into her new journey. Inside the first one, we found that she and her husband parted. Betrayal and the finding of new love. Then, readers get to this novel, and we see Amy’s new romance coming to a halt. Her world was doing fine until her ex-husband comes walking back into it. Complicated matters turn more complex and devastinng than Amy thought. Life is messy. Julieann Dove has taken life’s greatest and worst moments and spun it into her latest tale. Every thing happens for a reason. The novel, still has the powerful emotional pull that drags me further into the plot. Heartfelt, compelling, and brilliantly told. This second part showed readers a story that is more real and believable than most contemporary novels. I enjoyed that aspect of reading this book. If every novel were happy, swoon worthy, then it would be dull. However,  that’s not the case with Leaving Amy. Never a dull moment. Sad yes. But entertaining too. The most powerful tool with this series and this particular read is that Julieann Dove kept her readers guessing. I never knew what to expect next nor how it would end…and now, I need to know the final piece.  I see Amy growing with each book. Overall, Leaving Amy is a romance that readers can definitely relate to as well as enjoy. I highly recommend this to readers everywhere.

Rating: 5 stars

Review

My Lord Ghosts by Meredith Bond is a historical romance with a twist. I loved reading it. Meredith captured the time period perfectly. The characters were charming especially, Marcus. A ghost living in his own home. It’s not until a certain lady arrives that stirs everything out of balance. Marcus’s was attracted to her beauty upon first sight. His plan to get rid of her was in action, yet little did he know that she would be the toughest one to scare away…

Laia Grace is a flirt for a lady of her time. Childish almost in that manner. Yet somehow she grows up into a decent woman as the story unfolds. I was intrigued from the beginning. A young woman sent off by her father to a haunted place. But what occurs next kept me turning the pages. She turns into a completely different person and her curiosity gets the better of my attention. She seeks out the ghost unafraid. Wants to help. Maturity already rising gradually. Then the ghost’s way of haunting is hilarious. Marcus makes a mess of scaring people on purpose but despite that he’s a good ghost…

My Lord of Ghosts is well-written and highly engaging. I had to find out every detail and what happened next. My guessing built up from the suspense. The intrigue was great. Page turner. The personalities of both main characters melted together in a beautiful way. Each was destined for the other. A ghost so happens to help the young beautiful woman and she help him as well. Not planned but done. I couldn’t get enough of these characters. Realistic, believable, and enchanting. The ending was  perfect. Meredith Bond is another talented writer who books will be added to my reading pile in the future. I truly enjoyed reading this novel. Overall, I recommend to all. Sweet, romantic, and entertaining.

After Kieran appears at her book signing–and just as quickly vanishes–Selena receives a mysterious telephone call from a solicitor in Leeds, urging her to return to claim her inheritance.

Will Selena return to Cormoran for a reunion with her beloved Kieran—or will she go to her death?

Rating: 5 stars

Review:

Once again, Rita Dimitra has lured me into her world of fiction. Vampires, death, and love. I love how the male character doesn’t give up on his woman. He goes after what he wants. And that is Selena D’Agostino. Yet, she fled him and her relatives. She now, is settled. But then she sees what appeared to be her lover. Kieran. He’s a vampire. She’s still a human. Yet she only has the power of forcing him to allow her to be in power…sometimes. He love for her is so strong that he asks her something that she is most afraid of…death. Will death be the end or will it be the start of her new life with Kieran? Intriguing, addictive, and masterfully woven. Selena’s Requiem is a powerful story just like the first if not stronger. This is one romance that I highly recommend to readers everywhere.

Imogene in New Orleans by Hunter Murphy is the second amazing novel in this mystery series. I love the main character, Imogene. A sleuth like no other. Her personality makes her a fun character to follow as a new investigation pops up…sadly this one involves the death of a friend. The lieutenant nearby should be working the case but isn’t doing a thing. Thus, Imogene and her two sons go about the investigation themselves.

Hunter Murphy knows how to create a world of fiction with just the right amounts of humor, suspense, and intrigue. A murder mystery that will definitely entertain fans every time. Visiting the dead’ art gallery for for clues will be interesting as well as long list of suspicious perpetrators. I also loved traveling to New Orleans through this novel. New Orleans has so many possibilities and with this set of characters is makes for a must read. Imogene reminds me of some of my best female detectives and sleuths. Like the lady from Murder She Wrote and Miss Fisher the lady detective. Imogene somehow has qualities of both of these ladies. Hunter Murphy has beautifully created a three-dimensional character that readers can’t help but to love. Imogene in New Orleans is a cozy mystery that I highly recommend to readers worldwide.

Review:

The second novel in this super amazing series, is Convergence Point. Here, readers meet Sam Rose once more. The danger is still as threatening as before and the mystery really drives readers forward. Every page is intense, intriguing, and thrilling. Imagine knowing when you died and when you will die again…that could alter the future. Time, physics and law will completely baffle not only the main character but readers as well. I found myself just as curious as the agent, Sam Rose in finding out what exactly is going and why. But this time, agent Sam Rose, will need help from Mackenzie aka Mac. I love these two characters. They are truly an awesome pair to watch in action. Once more, Liana Brooks has brought another masterpiece and created twists to lure readers inside…Convergence Point. Overall, I highly recommend this second tale to readers everywhere.

Review:

Sealionaire (book 2) is the second installment in the exciting hot new series by both M.S. Parker and Shiloh Walker. These two talented writers have definitely rocked the whole Navy Seal image. A young Navy Seal has been dealt a hard hand. Between watching his teammates die in battle and then coming home just in time to watch his mom die…it takes a toll on a man. Such a toll it took that Adam decided to pick a fight at a bar and send 5 guys to the hospital. He soon realizes that he’s put his only career and life on the line. Then just when he least expected it…a family member comes to his aide. The aide is in the form a tough looking woman who sends Adam’s senses into overdrive. The heat blows up with an intensity as well as the career. Just when the sexy Navy Seal thought he has had enough grief, he ends up losing another loved one. Loss, grief, and family are three important themes found in this stunning novella. I found myself addicted and lured right from the beginning. Once again, both M.S. Parker and Shiloh Walker have created another masterpiece for all to enjoy. Overall, I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading the next one.

Lost Time by DL Orton is definitely one of the best postapocalyptic novels I have ever read. This second book in the Between Two Evils Series is a highly suspenseful read. Full of action, danger, and time travel traveling. The characters inside this stunning novel are believable and enjoyable to follow along. DL Orton’s writing is fantastic. I can’t get enough of her three-dimensional world of fiction. So much at risk and there’s only so much time left. Romance, time travel, and science fiction fantasy elements that readers everywhere will love.

Review:

Who’s Between the Sheets 2 by Shanice B. is definitely full of drama from the get go. I couldn’t believe how many issues pop up within a character’s life when they factor in the sex equation. Trying to keep up with who’s with who will keep readers constantly on their toes. The sex is deep enough to break and form new relationships everything. Once one relationship is broken another is formed. Then that newly formed relationship that has built up based on the hot sex goes down once a new player comes into the equation. Sex. It is truly a human being’s worst form of destruction. The lives of the characters are crazy but real. I can definitely see these adults acting this way in real life. Sad but so true. Each character thinks they have it good until one or both of them screws up their initial relationship…does loves really exist or it all about the bedroom? Shanice B.’s writing is superb. This urban street romance is another fantastic drama roll, that continues nonstop. I have found that each character is his or her own destruction. Even family members get more wrapped up, into their family member’s life issues that it’s hard to pull back. An intriguing roller-coaster ride that will keep readers turning the pages. Overall, I recommend this novel to all adults due to the topics covered in this read.

Review:

The Secrets She Kept is the sequel to The Secret Sister by Brenda Novak.  This story continues with a twist the characters didn’t see coming and one that will keep readers intrigued until the very last page. Suspenseful, engaging, and emotional. A journey unlike any other. Family can be so many things. Secrets, hurt, and damaged relationships are all woven beautifully, inside the tale.

The Secrets She Kept is about a controlling mother who ruled like a dictator is now found dead. Her housekeeper found her in a tub with light candles. This was definitely something the mother wouldn’t do especially with her schedule. The situation raises more questions than answers for her children. Once more readers will meet the troubled brother, Keith who believes his mother was killed not suicidal. Then there’s Maisey the sister who, like Keith think it’s more than what the police say it is. But if it is not what it looks than who could possibly be the murderer? Then there’s the other sister whom they  found and now they have to live with their mother’s death. Just as things were looking up for all three siblings…life went and took the rug from under their feet. There’s danger, mystery, and romance for all to enjoy. Brenda Novak has once more brought another great masterpiece to her readers. I was thoroughly impressed with her writing style. Tragedy, love, and abuse. This is definitely a novel worthy of every reader’s attention. So many issues at hand were mentioned. They are brilliantly put together to create a compelling story.  Overall, I highly recommend The Secrets She Kept by Brenda Novak. I absolutely love this writer’s tales. Never disappoints her readers.

Rating: 5 stars

Review:

Wishing for You by Elizabeth Langston is the second book in the I Wish Series. This book is an emotionally powerful journey that will pierce readers hearts and souls. I loved how Elizabeth Langston took a disability and planted it into an unforgettable character. A young girl is fighting her lack of memory. She’s always forgetting something and because of that she feels traumatized. But then an unexpected guy arrives into her life and gives her something to remember. She may not remember a lot of things but she remembers the stuff that has emotional attachments…like a first kiss or first date. She thinks that remembering everything would be great until she realizes that not always remembering everything is a gift and not just a curse. I loved following Kimberley’s growth throughout the novel. I felt like I could connect with her on so many levels. I too have something that keeps me from going exactly where I want to be…dyslexia and a speech impediment. There are times, I wanted to cry, laugh and feel just as frustrated as the main character, Kimberley did. The scenes went by fast. Absolutely, a great novel for readers everywhere. Elizabeth Langston’s book does leave me wondering what she will write next. There are so many possibilities. The suspense will surely kill me multiple times until then…overall, I highly  recommend Wishing for You to all.

Review:

Unexpected Submissive (book 2) by G.J. Cox is a deliciously hot read. But that’s not all. There’s danger, suspense, and intrigue brilliantly wrapped into this exciting tale.  Readers will once again be swept off their feet into the romance of two amazing characters. Their love just began to express itself when trouble heads their way…threats from an insane stalker. Fear, worry, and stress soon head to the couple’s way. No way of tracking the evil man down. Then, the worst happens. Belle is taking from her Dom. That’s when the danger hits off the charts. The suspense fo what happens next will keep readers turning the pages in a rush. I loved this writer’s talent. Her words held me hostage in her world of fiction. The emotional journey is one that felt so real. I thought I was Belle. The thoughts, feelings, and actions of the characters felt like they were my own. My heart raced…the intrigue killed me. Readers will not be able to get enough of G.J. Cox’s characters. Their story is well-told. Masterfully woven elements that bait, hook, and capture readers into the book. Unexpected Submissive is sexy, addictive, and a definite must read for all. I wanted to cry, to scream, and to relive the story all over again once I finished it. Wow! Absolutely, perfect in every way. Carried enough of everything to keep me lured. Overall, I highly recommend this romance to readers everywhere.

Review: Pain-Killer

Synopsis:

Blythe is intrigued. It would seem that her escapades into darkness are being watched. A painting, a very personal painting, has arrived in her gallery and the artist seems to know more than she should. A very unforgettable night leads her to realize that her plight into another world that devours flesh and punishes men will not be an easy one. Or will it?

Rating: 5 stars

Review:

Pain-Killer by Kindra Sowder is out of this world. A talented new writer who leaves readers hanging onto every one of her words. Once the book is opened, readers are led into a fast-paced, dark yet edgy world. Horror, blood, and nightmares. The action is plentiful and it seems the pages go by faster than readers think. This novella is part two of the Miss Hyde series. A young sexy woman who has both a good and a bad side. The bad side is one that men never come back to talk about…relationships no matter what kind are scary enough. Imagine dating someone or having a one night stand only then to be drugged, chained up, and murdered by a psychopath. Will the terror ever stop or will the killing continue to climb higher yet? Kindra Sowder’s writing is once more superb as always. I was immediately taken in by her leading female character. I highly recommend reading Pain-Killer during daylight hours. This tale will leave shivers down readers’ spines and a chill that doesn’t disappear. Overall, this is a must read for all.

The fight or be killed is a lesson one learns fast within the tale. Never turn your back for a second…Kindra Sowder brings excitement on every level. Whether it’s an emotional, physical, or psychological thrill ride, Kindra Sowder packs the best of everything into one place. I highly recommend her Executioner series. Books one and two have blown me away. Follow the Screams will leave readers begging for the next installment.

Especially sent in by that executioner…life and death hang in the air. Readers hold their breath as they wait for the next moment. Will the characters survive or perish? Being sent to hell and trying to make one’s way back to the life she left will be one unforgettable journey. Again, Kindra Sowder has worked her magic in Follow the Screams. Satisfying, deep, and edgy. Overall, this paranormal read has made it on my top reading list.

Review: Dying To Be Beautiful

Apparently, in the billion dollar world of beauty especially on the East End of Long Island, there are those who are literally…dying to be beautiful.

Rating: 5 stars

Review:

Dying To Be Beautiful (Fashion Queen) by M. Glenda Rosen is intriguing…like a gossip magazine featuring celebrities. In this murder mystery novel, that’s exactly what is used to help find clues about those being murdered and who is connected to everyone involved. A famous top fashion designer has been found murdered. He was left dead in a small gown that he designed with a cheap blonde wig and black nail polish. Soon, a friend and possible lover of his is found dead in another gown designed by the dead fashion designer and left in a cheap blonde wig and black nail polish. There are many people involved as suspects but who the murderer is and why is something that leaves not only the police and female detective stunned but also the readers. This gritty tale and highly entertaining read kept me hooked from the beginning to end. I was instantly taken into the crime scenes and the lives of the rich and famous inside The Hamptons.  A place where everyone dies trying to be beautiful…the only question is can the private investigator and detective solve these crimes before it’s too late?

Dying To Be Beautiful (Fashion Queen) was fast-paced, exciting, and extremely suspenseful. Every page contained tons of action, drama, and left readers with many what ifs. More questions then, answers build up…until the finale. M. Glenda Rosen has brilliantly brought together realistic situations and threats that our society continues to face and puts into one riveting fictional piece for all to enjoy. The characters make the story believable. I enjoyed following the private investigator and her friends in solving each crime scene.Sexuality, fashion, and murder are masterfully woven into a story that keeps readers fascinated. Overall, I highly recommend Dying To Be Beautiful to readers everywhere.

Charmed by the Best 2 by J. Shanay is amazing! Her novel is just as hot and intense as the previous book. The set of characters has once again been brought together waiting for news that may decide their fates once again. Having a baby and being stuck in love with a past lover may set Chayne on a new adventure. The drama is juicy and addictive. As with the previous book, I still didn’t know what to expect nor when.  Charmed by the Best 2 is just that. Chayne has been charmed by the best…Devon. Devon still loves Chayne…his first love.  Sterling hopes that if the baby is his that he and Chayne can be a unit…but it all depends on the results and where Chayne’s heart truly lies.

The writing is well done and the characters are magnificently well-developed. J. Shanay continued to impress me as her story unfolded. The excitement and thrilling adventures in this urban romance led to me falling for the characters especially for Chayne and Devon. Life can be bumpy but it can also be smooth too. Overall, I highly recommend this, fast-paced action novel to readers everywhere. I promise you will be charmed by the best.

Review:

Toca Swanson has done it once again! Her second novel inside this crazy addictive series has it hit off of the charts so high. The drama is higher and better than ever. Ride It Til’ the Wheels Fall Off 2 is another fabulous hit by Toca Swanson. I was once more swept into the drama series. The story is told from each characters’ point of view. I loved reading the novel that angle. Each characters’ point of view only adds to the trouble brewing ahead as always. As the tale progressed…the tension was building up and not just from one character but from all of them. Each one has their own take on life and once they decide on what they want there is no stopping them.

Ride It Til’ the Wheels Fall Off 2 by Toca Swanson is like watching an Urban soap opera come to life. All the characters play a major role in adding to the masterpiece. Amber from book one is still going after Brad. Brad knows she’s a crazy chick and won’t stop unless he does something. Faith is confused by the men in her life and doesn’t know what she really feels yet. Then there’s Sonya who was once with Taylor. The Taylor that is best of friends with Faith and loves only her. Taylor and Faith have slept together…Sonya is wanting Taylor back and is planning on using her pregnancy to tie him to her…however, the baby isn’t his and Sonya has also slept with others. Where life will take these crazy unforgettable characters next is something that readers have to find out on their own. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this second novel and following what happened after book one. There’s also, a surprise twist and suspense to keep me turning the pages in a race to find all the juicy details. As always, Toca Swanson doesn’t disappoint readers and keeps bringing a hot steamy tale to all. Overall, I highly recommend this exciting urban fiction to readers everywhere.

Review: A Daughter’s Dream

Synopsis:

In Shelley Shepard Gray’s second book in her Charmed Amish Life series, a young teacher and farmer discover they have much in common, especially when it comes to healing old wounds from the past…and finding love in one another.

Rebecca Kinsinger has always dreamed of being a teacher. But when she’s given the opportunity she’s been waiting for at Charm Amish School, she’s dismayed to discover that teaching is hard work—work she’s afraid she’s not very good at.

That is, until Lilly Yoder joins the class. A thirteen-year-old who’s just lost her parents, Lilly is in need of someone like Rebecca. For the first time since starting her new job, Rebecca feels a sense of purpose. But when she meets Lilly’s uncle, Jacob, his good looks and sweet, easy-going temperament are hard to ignore. How can she even entertain romantic thoughts of Jacob when his niece is her student?

Suddenly becoming Lily’s sole caregiver, Jacob Yoder never thought he’d be a single parent—or a farmer. Having been living in Florida as a carpenter, Jacob feels more at home wielding a hammer than a backhoe. The only bright spot in his life is Rebecca Kinsinger. As Lily and Rebecca develop a bond, Jacob’s fondness for the pretty teacher grows, too.

But when a fateful accident brings them together, Rebecca and Jacob must choose between duty and desire. Will they follow the path before them? Or set out to find true happiness…and true love?

Review:

A Daughter’s Dream by Shelly Shepard Gray is indeed a must read for all. The story instantly pulled me into the plot and sucked me in whole. There are struggles that each character has to face and a connection of the same kind of loss that seems to pull them into each other’s lives. Rebecca is a young woman who lost both her parents and is struggling with her dream career. Is she really mean to be a teacher or to work at her family’s lumber mill…and then there’s a new student and her uncle. Both are struggling with the loss of family members and dealing with their new life. Lily lost both her parents in a car accident and is now raised by her uncle Jacob Yoder. Jacob Yoder has moved back with his parents to raise Lily and to help them out…however, he’s not cut out to be a farmer and loves carpentry. Rebecca’s brother Lukas has offered Jacob a job at the mill. It’s now up to Jacob to see where he should be. But where there’s pain there is also love. Rebecca and Jacob have felt an instant spark towards one another and have recently started becoming good friends…then, there’s Jacob’s niece who is becoming fast good friends with Peter who makes her feel good about being smarter than the rest of their classmates. Peter really likes Lily. A Daughter’s Dream is a Christian romance that melted my heart and inspired me. I loved the characters and their troubles. The family, work, and friendships were amazing and very realistic. It was easy to connect with the characters on every level. Overall, I highly recommend this beautiful tale to readers everywhere.

Review:

Resort Isle by Paul Sekulich is one of the most fascinating, crime thrillers I have read. I couldn’t believe the odds of a man, who created the idea of an island for the worst criminals to be placed upon to be set on there as well. The main character, detective Frank Dugan, is by far the best fictional character ever. He lives quite a normal life like the rest of us. He and his wife are paying a mortgage on their home and have kids. Soon danger comes knocking on the door, and right on the day of Dugan and his wife’s anniversary…bad men come to take jewelry…only to find that they got the wrong Duggan and what happens next tore apart my heart…I could feel detective Frank Dugan’s anger and hurt. The plot is well-developed and one that kept me on the edge of my seat. I kept expecting far worse to happen to detective Frank Dugan…and the talented writer, Paul Sekulich kept me guessing all the way to the last page. Absolutely remarkable…I was instantly hooked by the story from page one. Not many authors can do that…Resort Isle is a place no good person ever wants to go…it’s a dangerous place that even the criminals fear of being sent. Overall, this is definitely a must-read thriller, for readers everywhere. I look forward to reading more of Paul Sekulich’s novels and hope the next  Overall, this is definitely a must read thriller for readers everywhere. Review: The Cavendon Luck

Synopsis:

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author comes a captivating epic saga of courage and honor, following the aristocratic Inghams and the loyal Swann family who have served them for centuries.

It is 1938 in England, and Miles and Cecily Ingham have led the family in bringing the Cavendon estate back from the brink of disaster. But now, with the arrival of World War II, Cavendon Hall will face its biggest challenge yet. It is a challenge that will push the Inghams and Swanns to protect each other and the villagers and reveal their true capacity for survival and rebirth.

Told with Bradford’s deft, evocative prose and featuring a beloved cast of characters, The Cavendon Luck is a story of intrigue, romance, sorrow, and joy that readers won’t soon forget.

Rating: 5 stars

Review:

The Cavendon Luck by Barbara Taylor Bradford reminds me so much of my beloved favorite British TV program, The Downton Abbey.  Both are about keeping the family place afloat during tough times. There’s always a disaster of some sort just around the corner and right after everything seems to be doing well. Barbara Taylor Bradford lures her audience back to 1938 where it all begins…The Cavendon Luck is an extraordinary historical fiction that will grab readers instantly with its intrigue and fascinating cast of characters. The emotional journey is quite a ride. Just as in real life, the roads get bumpy, tough or easy and joyous.

After reading this stunning new title by Barbara Taylor Bradford, I would love to see this turned into a big motion picture. The story brings readers in both emotionally and physically. The scenes are so vivid that they pop off the pages into the reader’s mind. The tightly knit family showered with so much love makes readers’ hearts melt into butter. The idea of war and what it might brings sounds alarms within the characters. It causes a curtain of suspense to hang thickly in the air as every page is quickly turned. Cavendon Hall is brought back and safe for the moment but how much longer will that last if war does set in? Readers will love the two families both the Inghams and the Swanns.  The tale is switched from telling it from the character’s point of view to the narrator’s. Excitement, danger, and livelihoods are all on a tight line where the Cavendon Hall is concerned. So many have put in so much to keep it going…World War II is just around the corner fear, death, and loss will soon be upon them all. Friendship, romance, and courage are all a part of this magnificent thrilling novel. I couldn’t put the book down…until I read it all. Readers will indeed fall in love with this second masterpiece by Barbara Taylor Bradford. Overall, I highly recommend The Cavendon Luck to readers worldwide.

Review:

The Return of the Witch by Paula Brackston is an enchanting yet highly suspenseful read. It is no wonder her novels are so widely talked about and loved. The plotline is addictive. Adventure awaits readers deep inside these brilliantly well-written pages. The story revolves around a family and love. But the danger is just beginning…and how it ends will have drastic changes over many lives.

Inside The Return of the Witch, readers are introduced to some familiar characters from Paula Brackston’s first book.  I love books that portray both magic and love. They swallow you up whole and transport you into different worlds. This novel does just that. The Return of the Witch is also a fictional tale about how one young woman grows up into the woman she is. After learning so much, Tegan, a witch has blossomed. The innocent and evil go head-to-head battling for the final round. Will Tegan and her mother like figure, Elizabeth, make it out of danger or will this be the end of them? Paula Brackston has beautifully captured a journey that will leave readers senselessly in love with her writing as well as waiting, for the next grand adventure. The journey readers take here will sweep them off their feet and swirl them fast into action, intrigue, and a fantasy worth reading. Overall, I loved reading this paranormal title and I highly recommend it to readers everywhere.

Rating: 5 stars

Review:

Bed of Lies by Shelly Ellis is her second best novel yet. I was amazed how she keeps all the drama, trouble, and scandals afloat in this new exciting book of hers. Once again readers are brought back to the irresistible family, the Murdochs. As we have seen in book one scandals are just one major pain in the side that the family has yet to endure. Evan Murdoch and his fiancee finally get through the first round of trouble that headed their way and now it’s coming back. However, it will be his friend Terrance, Terrance’s half brother Dante, and Evan’s sister who will be stirring up a bee’s nest. Can Evan Murdoch keep his wits this time or will it all be too much for him to handle?

Bed of Lies is exactly what’s inside this new title. Shelly Ellis is a talented writer whose plots have readers coming back for seconds. This time, readers get second helpings on the Murdoch family and their friends. A woman carrying child but not sure who the actual father is and receiving blackmails from a man that may be the father of the baby will keep readers in suspense all the way until the last page. Readers will love the buzz of excitement, betrayals, and lies as the Murdoch’s dig their way through the drama that life keeps tossing their way. Shelly Ellis’s novels are juicy with enough action, heat, and spice to lure readers every time. Overall, I highly recommend this romance novel to all.

Review:

Inside Shoe Fetish 2, readers will get a glimpse into three women’s lives. Friends who have to go about their life journey finding their way through it all. Romance, shoes, men, and everyday life struggles all part of growing up and learning how to balance. I love how both writers, Sharon Bennett, and Beatrice Moore have bought out a woman’s love of shoes and men into a beautifully woven story that will capture readers everywhere. Going through men is exactly like trying on a pair of shoes, to see, if they fit. Women’s shoes can tell you exactly how she’s feeling…because they bring out certain sides to each and every woman. It’s like dying one’s hair or putting on a particular shade of lipstick. We all have those inner dark secrets that make us who we are.  The tight-knit group of friends helps each woman go through each step of her journey. The ending is just as beautiful as they beginning. I loved reading this tale and following each woman as she changed throughout the book. Overall, I highly recommend Shoe Fetish 2 to readers worldwide.

Review:

The Big Interview by Libby Kirsch is the most exciting thriller I have read. There’s a famous NASCAR driver, a member that shouldn’t be on the board, and a jealous ex as well as a good for nothing brother. One newcomer, aka the new reporter, Stella Reynolds has a lot on her plate to deal. Her boss is the kind of man that sexually harasses women around in the workplace. Then, there’s her boyfriend, that is becoming more and more distant with each passing day. Stella has to cover the life of NASCAR and she knows absolutely nothing about it…but as the story develops so does the plans of killing to innocent people…Stella is also renting a place that is owned by the famous NASCAR driver whom everyone thinks is dead…until he suddenly pops up in Stella’s apartment. From there things get crazier and a whole lot more deadly. Libby Kirsch also brings a whole of heat to her stunning novel. The hot instant attraction and the humor, as well as the suspense, will drag readers instantly into this magnificent read. I couldn’t stop reading the book.

The Big Interview is funny, sexy, and intriguing. Readers will be glued from the first page until the last. It is clear that Libby Kirsch is indeed the most talented writer. I don’t know how Libby Kirsch managed to pull it off, but she has combined a thriller suspense with a murder mystery. The characters are quirky but smart. The main characters will have to be smarter to put together all of the pieces and manage to expose what happened, how it happened, and who did it. Everything was wrapped up nicely. No loose ends. I didn’t know who the murderers were until the end when Libby Kirsch let out the truth. The knowledge of a news station and how they operate was amazing! I couldn’t believe just how realistic every detail was…this was the first novel I have read by Libby Kirsch and I loved it. I am looking forward to reading her next book in this brilliant series. Overall, I would highly recommend this novel to readers everywhere.

Review:

Black Diamond by Elisa Marie Hopkins is the second exciting novel in this brilliant series of hers. The first novel, was one I couldn’t put down …and had me begging for this one. Black Diamond takes readers where the first one left off…and it’s just as addictive, suspenseful, and enticing as ever. Readers will be pulled head first into this stunning story following Sophie and Oliver as their journey continues…

Inside this riveting book, readers know someone is after Sophie. That someone wants her dead…and yet she survived. But she knows it won’t be long before that same person comes after her again. Then there was the blossoming romance between Sophie and a rich bachelor, Oliver. Now, it seems Sophie was right. The media has done its best at pulling them apart…but does that mean these two irresistible characters are done with one another? Elisa Marie Hopkins is the queen of suspense. Her novels are the best romantic suspense thrillers, I have ever read. She beats my favorite bestselling writers in this genre. For fans of Kendra Elliot, Melinda Leigh, J.D. Robb, and Lisa Jackson, then this is a must-read for you.

Black Diamond intrigues readers from page one. Sending them spiraling straight into danger, entangled romance and a race to survive death. Elisa Marie Hopkins is indeed a talented writer. Her characters are so real and her scenes are believable. The plot is well-written and moves at a fast pace. This book keeps readers, at the edge of their seats waiting for what happens next…suspense hangs everywhere…Black Diamond is an impressive read. Overall, I highly recommend it to readers everywhere.

Review: Behind Closed Doors (Book 2)

Synopsis:

“The love of money is the root to all evil, but poverty and wealth are its greatest companions…” ~ A.L. Smith

Human trafficking is often considered an international phenomenon and women from third world countries are the first images that come to mind. However, “familial human trafficking” is a more intimate crime due to the dynamics of the underlying relationships. Human trafficking is one of the largest criminal entities in the country today, second only to drug trafficking…200,000 cases reported each year. Abject poverty, visible obscurity and other socioeconomic disparities are contributing factors.

Behind Closed Doors 2 is the riveting tale of one little girl’s struggle to overcome circumstances beyond her control. Born and raised on the ruthless streets of East St Louis, Dana Toussaint was accustomed to a life of privilege, thanks to her father, a Haitian-born immigrant and notorious drug lord. Dana’s mother, a materialistic southern belle from South Louisiana, is consumed by the good life, as memories of her upbringing in an East New Orleans housing project become a distant memory.

In spite of the similarities between the Haitian and Louisiana Creole cultures, the marriage unravels and the unthinkable occurs when Dana’s father abruptly abandons the family. At the age of 12, Dana becomes the ultimate sacrifice and her mother brokers the deal.

My Rating: 5 stars

My Review:

Behind Closed Doors Book 2: Dana’s Story is a phemnomonal story. One that readers will feel with their hearts and souls. This kind  of story never leaves a reader. A.L. Smith has beautifully spun together a novel worthy of every reader’s attention. Her second novel is just as stunning as her first one but packs more of an emotional journey.

Inside of A.L. Smith’s, Behind Closed Doors (Book 2), is the sad underlying truth to the world real nature. A talented writer with a goal and passion for writing is one to watch out for…and A.L. Smith is indeed on my favorite author’s list. Her writing inspires, encourages, and shakes down barriers. Dana is the new heronie that readers will fall in love with from the first moment and until the very end. Her life is one that no one can think possible yet it’s happening. A young girl grows up only to deal with a mother like that of Cinderella’s stepmother but far much more cruel. Dana is treated like garbage and then her mother plans something that would endanger Dana’s life… A.L. Smith’s work is sad, heartbreaking, and a must read.  I enjoyed reading this masterpiece, and I highly recommend it to readers worldwide.

My Rating: 4 stars

My Review:

Ally Carter is one of my favorite YA authors. As a teen and young adult, I have read every book of hers. My all time favorite was the Gallagher Girl series. When, I first heard of Ally’s new series, Embassy Row, my heart was thumping with excitiement to get my hands on her new novels. See How They Run, is well-written and the characters are indeed well-developed. I would not have expected any less from this talented best-selling writer. Ally Carter has brought back a world of secrets to share once more with her readers from everywhere. Readers can explore a deeper inside view of how politics, glamour, and family life all come hand-in-hand within this exciting read. See How They Run will take readers on one magnificent heart-pounding thrill ride.

See How They Run is book two in the Embassy Row series by Ally Carter. Here, readers get to meet a whole new line of characters. The main character, Grace, and her world is quite similar to the Gallagher Girls world of spies yet holds a lot more action and edge of your scenes. Readers will find the ending just as surprising as Grace did. Ally Carter definitely knows how to leave her audience hanging and waiting for the next great adventure. Although, I didn’t quite feel the same deep connection with Grace as I did with Ally’s famous Gallagher Girl, I still enjoyed following this new series of hers. This novel, unlike any of Ally’s previous books, holds a little of everything. Action, suspense, and a cloud of msytery all masterfully created for everyone’s entertainment. Readers will never know what will happen next as they follow Grace on her journey. Overall, I highly recommend this read to all.
