Ex-cop Thomas Haftmann, formerly of Cleveland Homicide, works as a private investigator in the resort town of Jefferson-on-the-Lake. You will follow his cases in these 15 short neo-noirs. Among them are “The Kneeling Woman,” “No Escape, No Turning Back,” “The Riding Boy,” “The Slave Master’s Dungeon,” “Archangel’s Daughter,” “A Woman With Tea-Colored Eyes,” and “The Dog Returneth to His Vomit.” These have been collected from a variety of outstanding publications and blog sites, ranging from Powder Burn Flash through A Twist of Noir to Sex and Murder Magazine. Be warned: Thomas Haftmann’s dark world of murder and madness is not for the reader of cozy mysteries.
Thomas Haftmann, Private Eye by Robb White is a great collection of detective stories. Each one featuring the famous, Thomas Haftmann. He is a private investigator that goes on a variety of cases. Quills and Daggers – A second chance at love story – Episode 5
Dead bodies are bad for business. At least that’s what Ivory thinks when a murder takes place a few blocks away from The Motor Quill tattoo parlor. Inking San Francisco’s finest and hanging out with his older, special needs brother, is a routine he’s grown accustomed to. No need to fix something that ain’t broken.
Breaking things is what Nikki is best at. When she walks back into Ivory’s life, he finds his second chance at love, but he also realizes the skeletons tucked safely in his closet can’t wait to dredge up dark desires.
Quills and Daggers by Chris Genovese is a well-written romantic suspense collection. This writer has gone beyond in creating a super addictive plot line for readers like myself to enjoy. The characters are three-dimensional. Their lives are complicated and messy. Realistically told. Engaging to read from the first page to the last. I haven’t read the previous books in this series but I definitely will after having read this one.
Wildly entertaining essays laced with wicked concepts, cheap shots, and a few bright ideas. An absolute feast of funny words without once mentioning vampires or zombies. The perfect blend of madcap rants and true life experiences guaranteed to put a never-ending smile on your face. Actually, a never-ending smile might be cause for alarm. In fact, if your smile lasts longer than four hours, you should visit a doctor as soon as possible. Just the same, this extraordinary slice of life is riotously funny and viciously insightful. This book is almost too good to read, but I suggest reading it anyway. I also suggest telling forty or fifty of your closest friends to read this time; people need to laugh.

Award–winning author Phil Harvey is the president of Adam & Eve, one of the world’s leading suppliers of sex toys, adult films, and condoms. Because a substantial amount of “the sex factory’s” profits finance family planning worldwide, Mother Jones dubbed Harvey a “hard–core philanthropist.” This collection from one of the most influential figures in the sex industry thrills readers with budding innocence, freeing adventures, and dangerous erotic games. The collection includesBait and Switch, a tale of swapping that won the Antietam Review’s literary award.
