Review:

Silver Bells by Fern Michaels, JoAnn Ross, Mary Burton, and Judy Duarte is a sweet and heartfelt collection of four novellas.

The first one depicted a woman who has grown tired of her high celebrity life and coming back home. Once there, she feels more like her old self and maybe finding a love, too.

Second tale, was about a woman writer who lost her belief in Christmas. She gets lost and ends up in the most Christmassy town that has ever existed. There she meets a sexy as hell man, divorced, and is raising his daughter. Maybe, she’ll find both a renewed hope in Christmas and in love.

Third story was about a woman whose husband was abusive slash obsessive over her. She finally left him, started a new life with her child, and gets involved into a dangerous situation. That’s where her friend who is a cop comes in to save the woman he cares deeply about…only she has to find the courage to be brave enough to love him back.

The last tale involves another woman but one who suffered heartbreak and betrayal from her husband. She has two kids and moved into her father’s house. There is a nasty mean old man next-door who seems to be grumpy and ridiculous to both her and her kids. And to add into the complications, her old romance flame lives nearby. Making it impossible to ignore their attraction.

Overall, these stories were believable, funny, and interesting. I was hooked. Each story had a great Christmas tale filled with hope, laughter, and love. Friendships and romantic entanglements were formed as well. I enjoyed following each of the characters as their journeys unfolded. I recommend Silver Bells to readers everywhere.

Review: Hit the Road, Jake!

Hit The Road, Jake! (The Lindsey Lark Series Book 3) by [Rohman, Cricket]

Synopsis:

Thrilling, romantic, and sprinkled with humor, HIT THE ROAD, JAKE! reinvents the ‘buddy movie’ concept with the written word … and a pretty woman. Jake and Lindsey are good at tracking down offenders responsible for petty theft and blackmail, but when new mysteries become personal—slashed tires, spattered blood, steamy love letters, a stolen pet—everything changes.

Who is this enemy that secretly harasses them from town to town? Jake calls in some favors and manages to finagle the DNA testing of several blood samples. The results are shocking, and the dangers they face become deadly.

Practically, newlyweds, the couple thought they’d created the perfect win-win plan. While traveling between Tucson and Estes Park in their RV, Jake would solve embarrassing mysteries that schools wished to keep under wraps, and Lindsey, being the ‘cover’ for their presence, would conduct workshops for teachers. Then all hell broke loose.

Review:

Hit the Road, Jake! by Cricket Rohman is a great cozy mystery that soon gets deadly. The beginning introduces readers a wonderful yet newly wedded couple. Jake and Lindsey and their dogs. This couple is deeply in love with one another and their bantering will keep any reader grinning. It was hard not to laugh along. Then, as they dive into their first mystery case it seems things get peculiar fast. Threats that look like a harmless prank is more than beats the eye. The couple will soon discover fast just how dangerous their mystery case is.

Cricket Rohman’s novel reminded me much of the Miss Fisher Mysteries. Funny, dangerous, and a puzzle not only to the detectives on the case but also to the readers at hand. I was intrigued at the mystery. A rhyming poem, literature, and petty stuff…what was the real MO and who was behind it and the more puzzling question was why. This novel will keep readers guessing and entertained from beginning to end. Hit the Road, Jake! is an excellent mystery full of suspense, intrigue and a great set of characters.

Hit the Road, Jake! by Cricket Rohman is indeed the perfect read. An unforgettable journey with the world’s best couple. Both Lindsey and Jake are a perfect match. Their investigating soon leads them into more than just trouble with their clients. It comes straight to them as well. The humor and romance that fill the pages as well made it believable. I recommend this novel to all. I look forward to reading the other novels by this talented writer.

Novemeber Again

Omg…I can’t believe it’s November already! Time flies by when you’re busy. Busy year for us here, at Universal Creativity Inc.

My head feels like it’s spinning.  So many ideas, reviews, and jobs to complete it’s insane. The good kind of insane. Things here at home are definitely crazy. I wouldn’t know where to begin on that story. Maybe one day, I will turn my home life into a memoir. I could also write a humor novel for married couples. The Many Benefits of Marriage… it would be called. Anyone who has been married for 50 years or so and feel like their spouse drives them crazy would completely love this novel idea that I hope to write soon. Despite going nuts, the love never fades if they stuck together for 50 years or longer. Marriage is one of the world’s greatest wonders…

What made you fall in love with your spouse? Was it their sense of humor? Their charm? Their smile?

Can you remember that first date as though it were yesterday?

First kiss is always the charm… if you had to describe it, what three words would you use?

If you both were able to go back in time and were given the chance to change things, would your old self make the same choices or different ones?

If any of you don’t mind sharing some of these answers, anonymously, with me that would be cool…

But, also, maybe these questions might help you write your own story. One of a couple that………

Once upon a time…there was this man….

It was yesterday about this time….when a woman stepped through the shop’s door and I knew immediately that she was the one…….

2 Book Reviews in 1! (Samantha Chase)

The Christmas Cottage by Samantha Chase is indeed a romance that will win the hearts of its readers. The story is about a character who doesn’t seem to believe in love and then begins to wonder if it does indeed exist or not. Lacey Quinn is helping her best friend get a cottage ready for the after wedding. Little did she know that fate was about to bring her the one man who turned her away at 14. Ean Callahan turned Lacey away back when he was 18. She surprised him by kissing him one day during a family setting. He never told her but that one kiss made him want more. After coming back home early, Ean is surprised to find Lacey inside the family cottage. After sneaking up on her they he finds that his sister has arranged for both him and Lacey to set up the cottage using a huge binder of things she wants done. Unrealistic stuff. He and Lacey are soon snowed in and are stuck spending a night together..will the cottage work its magic and bring them love?

I enjoyed reading this cozy romance by Samantha Chase. Her characters are so real and the troubles that come are something to be read by everyone. Readers won’t e able to stop reading until the last page.. Luckily for me, Samantha Chase has wonderful written and gave her readers an extra story to read as well. It’s just as beautifully enchanting as The Christmas Cottage. Family and friends are great but when they are always worried that you dont know what’s best for you it’s hard to test out the waters and find the courage to just believe what’s there right in front of you. Check out the next stunning romance below:

Ever After by Samantha Chase is a continuation from the The Christmas Cottage. Ava Callahan gave up her wedding celebration to her best friend and brother after finding out that her and her fiance were not meant to be. Ava feels like her happily ever after won’t be happening and has come to terms with it. Until, a very sexy man, like Brian comes to see her. Brian is her ex-fiance’s best friend. He tried to tell Ava that her and his best friend were not meant to be, but Ava didn’t want to hear it. And with a scorching kiss that night from Brian, Ava felt her world come alive. But she was engaged to Brian’s best friend. Shaking the kiss away and Brian, Ava heads out for disaster. Now, Brian is all she can think about. And Brian is a patient man. But is he patient enough to show Ava that she doesn’t need The Christmas Cottage to find her happily ever after? Or will Ava push the only man perfect for her away?

Ever After is the perfect ending to this incredible collection of romance stories by Samantha Chase. I absolutely love her stories. The characters pop off the pages and lure readers straight into a Winter Wonderland full of choices, hot men who will fight for what they want, and two stubborn women who learn what love is really like. Overall, I highly recommend reading these and many more by this talented writer. Her novels will surely win over any reader. I rate these romance tales a five out of five stars and look forward to more brilliant masterpieces.

Book Review: Uncertain Murder by James Litherland

Uncertain Murder (Watchbearers, Book 3)

Uncertain Murder by James Litherland is a stunning and most captivating mystery of them all. His writing lures readers deep into the mystery of one man’s death. A death that was ruled out as a crime. However there are two that believe it was. These two characters are just intriguing as the plot. They are time travelers who are investigating into a man’s death.  Apparently everyone that was there for the man’s death happens to be mentioned in his will. But as these people are being murdered the time travelers will have to race and figure who the killer is before it’s too late for them as well.

Uncertain Murder indeed fits in with the novel’s theme and surrounds readers with uncertainty as a killer is loose and people die. Is it revenge or is it someone eliminating others? A fast-paced story that will keep readers guessing until the end. James Litherland has created a fascinating world with characters that bring unknown possibilities to readers’ minds. A mystery so beautifully put together, readers will be looking for the next book inside this new series by James.  For those love suspense, murder, and a novel with paranormal twists, this is the book for you. I highly recommend this novel to readers everywhere. James Litherland’s writing is a talent most writers wished they had. Overall, I rate Uncertain Murder a five out of five stars.
