Review: Hot Georgia Rein

Synopsis:

First loves don’t last, not like you think they will when you’re in the beginning or middle of them. First loves are fun and painful, giving you the beauty and darkness of life in a single relationship, breaking your fantasies like a twig and making you realize that life is not all sunshine, sparkling fireflies, and rainbows. No, it’s not pretty at all. First loves build you up, and just when you think that life can’t get any better, they shatter into a million raindrops, making you see how life really works. First loves crush you, ruining you for anyone else.

That’s what Ivy Lynn Abney and Henry Lee Rein have battled with since things ended between them three years ago. Neither of them have spoken and are still hung up on what occurred. They both have regrets and the love they once had for each other never really went away. They were young and wanted different things. Have their wants changed enough to allow their love to reignite? Can first loves become second loves even with secrets?

Review:

Hot Georgia Rein by Martha Sweeney is out of this world. Her new romance novel sizzles with fire. Leaving me in love and completely satisfied with the material presented on the pages. Martha Sweeney has once again lured me deeply into her world of fiction. I have read a variety of genres written by this writer. She has never once disappointed me. Martha goes for something and does it with such raw talent that it leaves readers, like me, wondering how she does it. Magic…that’s the only solution I came up with so far.

Characterization was well-done. Ivy and Rein are two unforgettable protagonists. Their chemistry and lust runs hot. Here, I got to watch as their last collided with their present lives. I got their backstory. It all made perfect sense. Yet, even with the sides and perspectives in every chapter, I still wasn’t sure how how their relationship was going to work. They could end up together or broken apart again. Martha Sweeney cleverly keep me in suspense throughout the entire book. Until the ending…that’s when I finally got my answer.

Hot Georgia Rein is both fast-paced and sexy as hell. Ivy and Rein can’t be near each other and keep their hands off each other. Their story was sad, intense, and hilarious. They loved each other more than just bedding each other. Rein and Ivy clicked. Knew when the other was lying or what the other wanted. Yes, their relationship is unconventional. But it worked out for them. Love was raw and fresh in this contemporary romance. I was hoping for the best for them as a couple…so many twists and turns lead me to thinking certain things would never happen between them. Martha Sweeney is indeed a talented writer. I love her work. Her characters…are real. They don’t follow a mold. They break every barrier set by society and still come out rocking. This was an emotional journey I truly enjoyed following. I loved it. Can’t wait to see what comes out next with this writer…overall, I highly recommend reading, Hot Georgia Rein to readers worldwide.

Synopsis:

In a small Georgia town where racial tensions run high and lives are at stake, can one lawyer stand up for justice against the tide of prejudice on every side?

Adisa Johnson, a young African-American attorney, is living her dream of practicing law with a prestigious firm in downtown Atlanta. Then a split-second mistake changes the course of her career.

Left with no other options, Adisa returns to her hometown where a few days earlier a white police officer shot an unarmed black teen who is now lying comatose in the hospital.

Adisa is itching to jump into the fight as a special prosecutor, but feels pulled to do what she considers unthinkable—defend the officer.

As the court case unfolds, everyone in the small community must confront their own prejudices. Caught in the middle, Adisa also tries to chart her way along a path complicated by her budding relationship with a charismatic young preacher who leads the local movement demanding the police officer answer for his crime.

This highly relevant and gripping novel challenges us to ask what it means to forgive while seeking justice and to pursue reconciliation while loving others as ourselves.

Review:

A Time to Stand by Robert Whitlow is an interesting yet significant piece of literature. Here, readers explore the toughest of racial tensions by white versus black. A white officer shoots an unarmed black teen. The lawyer in this case is Adisa Johnson. An African American attorney in a man’s world. Tensions rise with each adding page. Anger, frustration, fear, and justice ring out everywhere. Then there’s  the romantic entanglements that make this story even more complex.  Writer Robert Whitlow adds to the suspense by creating several twists and turns that readers won’t expect. So many factors play a part of this plot. It’s easy to judge than to listen. Innocent people are under fire due to the situation presented inside…pressure builds and the drama as well. I was thoroughly impressed with the talent demonstrated by this writer. He created a believable, exciting, and intriguing tale. Hooking me in with every word. The main characters were well-developed. I look forward to reading more by Robert Whitlow in the future. Overall, I highly recommend A Time to Stand.

Book Review: Schism by Armando Minutoli

Schism by Armando Minutoli is a fascinating novel unlike many others. It drives readers deep into a unique plot that takes them back to a time and different places with two characters whose cultures differ. I couldn’t believe how incredible this story was until after I started reading it. It’s the kind that is complex, full of adventure and leaves you thinking deep about everything. Once I began reading it, I couldn’t stop until I reached the ending. Readers will love this novel by this talented writer just as much as I did.

Schism, at first glance, may not seem like the novel readers are lured into reading. But, despite it’s title, Schism, is a very powerful read. It has a plot that has drama, adventure, action, and  much more.  It’s like a super novel, it comes with a little bit of everything. There are flashbacks in this novel so, if you’re a reader who doesn’t like flashbacks from characters then this might not be for you. But, I still highly recommend you to try it out because the characters are realistic and the story will tug you in like no other. Armando Minutoli’s words leave readers with a sense of what real faith is like. Evil may lurk everywhere and if there is a God then why does he let such horrible things happen? These questions and many more are not only told but shown to readers in an entertaining way. A way that gives readers a first seat glimpse into it all. So, the real question is… are you prepared for an adventure of a lifetime? If so, read this and enjoy!

Tony Romero is one of the two characters in this brilliantly well-written novel. Right away readers feel a tug towards Tony. I felt sympathy toward a man who thinks he lost everything, including God. Now, that is the hook that lures readers in right away… and makes us want to read further. I did. Tony, even though he made failures, was the kind of man who rushed to save a little girl whose parents didn’t know was in danger… Now, Tony’s life hangs in the balance. Will he make it or will he be lost to the world he knows?  His journey of faith with Obe leads hims into becoming a changed person. Readers will cry, laugh, and be amazed at this remarkable novel. Armando Minutoli has created a beautiful story that should be shared with the world and readers everywhere. It’s the kind one wants to read again and again. Overall, I rate Schism a five out of five stars.

Book Review: When I was Green by T.S. Dawson

When I was Green by T.S. Dawson is a must read romance unlike others in its genre. The story itself is about a young 16 year old’s journey in discovering the truth behind the secrets of her past. A hot sexy horseback instructor who is wiser than most his age, takes on the task of helping Lucy uncover it all. What they will find is something readers will have to read on to figure out themselves.

I loved reading this story by T.S. Dawson. The main character draws readers in with her attraction to Edward. Edward being the horse back riding instructor with many other girls chasing after him. Lucy finds herself just as attracted to Edward as the others are to him. Edward wants to help Lucy find out about her past. Did her father really commit suicide and how is that her small town area keeps it hidden so well? When I was Green is one novel readers won’t be able to put down.  The ending was a major cliff hanger. Readers will puzzle themselves crazy over what happens next between Edward and Lucy.  T.S. Dawson has done a beautifully job in spinning a realistic and intriguing tale that will keep readers coming back for more. I can’t wait to read more by T.S. Dawson. The story will capture readers in from all over the world. I highly recommend reading this brilliant romance novel. Overall, I rate it a five out of five stars.
