Review: Hot Georgia Rein

Synopsis:

First loves don’t last, not like you think they will when you’re in the beginning or middle of them. First loves are fun and painful, giving you the beauty and darkness of life in a single relationship, breaking your fantasies like a twig and making you realize that life is not all sunshine, sparkling fireflies, and rainbows. No, it’s not pretty at all. First loves build you up, and just when you think that life can’t get any better, they shatter into a million raindrops, making you see how life really works. First loves crush you, ruining you for anyone else.

That’s what Ivy Lynn Abney and Henry Lee Rein have battled with since things ended between them three years ago. Neither of them have spoken and are still hung up on what occurred. They both have regrets and the love they once had for each other never really went away. They were young and wanted different things. Have their wants changed enough to allow their love to reignite? Can first loves become second loves even with secrets?

Review:

Hot Georgia Rein by Martha Sweeney is out of this world. Her new romance novel sizzles with fire. Leaving me in love and completely satisfied with the material presented on the pages. Martha Sweeney has once again lured me deeply into her world of fiction. I have read a variety of genres written by this writer. She has never once disappointed me. Martha goes for something and does it with such raw talent that it leaves readers, like me, wondering how she does it. Magic…that’s the only solution I came up with so far.

Characterization was well-done. Ivy and Rein are two unforgettable protagonists. Their chemistry and lust runs hot. Here, I got to watch as their last collided with their present lives. I got their backstory. It all made perfect sense. Yet, even with the sides and perspectives in every chapter, I still wasn’t sure how how their relationship was going to work. They could end up together or broken apart again. Martha Sweeney cleverly keep me in suspense throughout the entire book. Until the ending…that’s when I finally got my answer.

Hot Georgia Rein is both fast-paced and sexy as hell. Ivy and Rein can’t be near each other and keep their hands off each other. Their story was sad, intense, and hilarious. They loved each other more than just bedding each other. Rein and Ivy clicked. Knew when the other was lying or what the other wanted. Yes, their relationship is unconventional. But it worked out for them. Love was raw and fresh in this contemporary romance. I was hoping for the best for them as a couple…so many twists and turns lead me to thinking certain things would never happen between them. Martha Sweeney is indeed a talented writer. I love her work. Her characters…are real. They don’t follow a mold. They break every barrier set by society and still come out rocking. This was an emotional journey I truly enjoyed following. I loved it. Can’t wait to see what comes out next with this writer…overall, I highly recommend reading, Hot Georgia Rein to readers worldwide.

Review:

Skills of a Scoundrel by Eleanor Meyers is a fascinating read. This historical romance intrigues readers from page one. I was hooked in immediately. The characters set the pacing in a fast but entertaining way. Never was there a moment for dullness. I felt the emotions coming forth from the characters as if they were my own. The heat and intimidating circumstances felt right. Women struggling to reach out into the world of academics…and here we meet one fine lady brave enough to step into it. Scandal following the blue-eyed beauty everywhere she goes. Not because she did something wrong but due to a friend under her watch. Imagine how cruel society is back then compared to now…gossip could ruin a soul and their family’s name forever. Consequences come into play, and it was exciting to watch the lead female character turn down a prominent man not once once, not twice but three times in one night. Oh, a man’s ego…has set him even more determined to win lady June Harwood’s hand. She’s all he thinks about no matter what he’s doing. A woman who loves learning as much as a man is one to behold…and to never let go. However, danger is ahead and the past may just keep all well-thought plans away…

Skills of a Scoundrel is highly engaging to read. The book was easy to follow along and the characters were enchanting. Eleanor Meyers has once more brought a new favorite to my hands. The emotional attachment is great. The suspense was perfect. I was constantly on my toes waiting the final outcome. Eleanor Meyers’ writing is superb. She creates fresh fiction that captivates and engages readers to follow along. Never knowing where they will be led. Overall, I highly recommend this brilliant piece of literature to all.

Review:

Dying To Be Beautiful (Fashion Queen) by M. Glenda Rosen is intriguing…like a gossip magazine featuring celebrities. In this murder mystery novel, that’s exactly what is used to help find clues about those being murdered and who is connected to everyone involved. A famous top fashion designer has been found murdered. He was left dead in a small gown that he designed with a cheap blonde wig and black nail polish. Soon, a friend and possible lover of his is found dead in another gown designed by the dead fashion designer and left in a cheap blonde wig and black nail polish. There are many people involved as suspects but who the murderer is and why is something that leaves not only the police and female detective stunned but also the readers. This gritty tale and highly entertaining read kept me hooked from the beginning to end. I was instantly taken into the crime scenes and the lives of the rich and famous inside The Hamptons.  A place where everyone dies trying to be beautiful…the only question is can the private investigator and detective solve these crimes before it’s too late?

Dying To Be Beautiful (Fashion Queen) was fast-paced, exciting, and extremely suspenseful. Every page contained tons of action, drama, and left readers with many what ifs. More questions then, answers build up…until the finale. M. Glenda Rosen has brilliantly brought together realistic situations and threats that our society continues to face and puts into one riveting fictional piece for all to enjoy. The characters make the story believable. I enjoyed following the private investigator and her friends in solving each crime scene.Sexuality, fashion, and murder are masterfully woven into a story that keeps readers fascinated. Overall, I highly recommend Dying To Be Beautiful to readers everywhere.

Review:

Shunned No More by Christina McKnight is a historical romance that swept me away. I loved following the main characters, both Lady Viola, and Earl Brock. These two have a shared tragedy from the past that continues to haunt them both. However, for Lady Viola, the past wrong was her doing…and the guilt of it still keeps her shunned away from London’s society…until her business in the country is ruined by a trusted friend. Then, there’s her father’s insistence that she goes back to London to find herself a husband. But Lady Viola isn’t ready to be put out in the open by an unwelcoming society. But her father won’t let it go. For Earl Brock, the event of both his twin brothers’ deaths has caused him feeling lonely after returning back home. His father died before Brok got to say goodbye. With London’s gossip column, it’s hard to let go of the family tragedy…until fate has spun him and Lady Viola aka the culprit of the trouble together. What happens next kept me turning the pages eager to read it all. Christina McKnight has masterfully brought out a tale that is heartbreaking, swoon-worthy, intriguing, and heart melting in the end. I couldn’t pass up on this fabulous read…the talent shines brightly on every page as the characters dilemma, worries, and struggles became my own.
