But here she is, always snooping around and getting into trouble. I’m supposed to be providing security, but I can’t stop thinking about her.

Review:

Protecting the Enemy by both Samantha Chase and Noelle Adams is the second installment to their new romance series. This book is another tale about second chances. A romance that existed but never got the chance to bloom until now. But there’s plenty of obstacles to get through first. Love is messy, complex, and complicated. It can leave damage…

Hatred, anger, danger, and sparks ignite in this exciting book. I felt closer to these characters than the previous book. However, I still miss the full fledge magic that Samantha Chase always brings to her books. Seeing as this is co-written, it’s hard to  feel that magic that I’m so used to feeling. But it’s still worth reading every damn page. I was engaged. Hooked. Intrigued by ehatwould transpire between the two protagonists. Writers Samantha Chase and Noelle Adams create a chemistry that lingers far after one finishes reading. Overall, I recommend this second title to readers everywhere. Protecting the Enemy is a contemporary full of heat and action.

Review: Protecting His Best Friend’s Sister

Synopsis:

Protecting His Best Friend’s Sister was originally published as Duty Bound. It has since been expanded, revised, and re-edited.

The only woman I want is the one I can never have.

Harper. My best friend’s sister. I’ve wanted her since I was eighteen, but she’s always been off-limits. Now I’m home after years in the Marines, and nothing has changed–except everything has. Her brother is dead, and she’s on a hopeless quest for answers about his death.
And I want her just as much as ever.

Someone is trying to kill her now, and she won’t let me keep her safe. I have to protect her anyway, even if she doesn’t trust me, even if she hates me for it. A man protects what’s precious to him, whether or not he can ever claim her for his own.

And Harper has always been precious to me.

Rating: 4-stars

Review:

Protecting His Best Friend’s Sister by both Samantha Chase and Noelle Adams is a sexy yet emotional short read. This novella is packed with loss, anger, and lust. Levi is best friends with Harper’s older brother. He has wanted and liked Harper since the beginning but it really hit Levi the hardest when Harper grew up…

As a teenager, Harper turned heads. Levi was no different. She had him wrapped around her finger and had no idea. Levi has struggled with his attraction to Harper. She’s off limits. Not going to mess up a friendship just because he likes his best friend’s sister. Little sister.

Now, Harper is a grown woman. No little about her. Curves, flawless skin and still as fierce as before…Levi wished it was under better circumstances. His best friend, Harper’s brother, Gavin, died. Burying him. Sadness and pain hits them both. Harper hates Levi.

Only she doesn’t know why he left her that one day. Nor does she know just how much he really cares about her…

Harper is in danger and Levi will protect her. But where that leaves them afterwards is something readers will have to discover on their own.

Hot, well-developed, and entertaining. Both Samantha Chase and Noelle Adams have started a series that caught my heart and attention. I missed the deeper connection I get from Samantha’s novels but this one was still good. Protecting His Best Friend’s Sister is a must read.

Review

The Final Score by Jaci Burton is a swoon worthy romance. This book will definitely take to fans of sports, sex, and romance. The once best friend relationship ends up turning into something way more than either thought. Neither MIA nor Nathan can ignore the sparks, heat, and their hearts. Their hearts want each other. However, Mia is determined to try to keep it a best friend only relationship…but as time goes by…she realizes she wants more. Nathan loves football. With Mia nearer to him, he can’t concentrate on just sports stuff. Their relationship has gone and left. Leaving behind something much more intense. Something worth fighting for…

The Final Score is a hot read. I couldn’t stop reading it. Jaci Burton knows how to creation the right amount of lust, heat, and unforgettable characters. The scenes fly by fast. One moment, I’m starting the next, I’ve finished reading. Truly, a novel worth picking up to read. Overall, I recommend to readers worldwide.

Those Texas Nights by Delores Fossen is an exciting yet hot read. This novel, was my first by Delores Fossen. The cover caught my attention immediately, and I was ecstatic to read it. After reading it, I was happy with my purchase. The novel contained a lot of action. Both heat and danger kind. The growing attraction between the Police Chief and main heroine sizzled. They tried to ignore the instant connection. However, it only drove them both crazy. Once they let it out, they’ll never go back. Ranching, fraud investigation , noisy town and crazy families. Delores Fossen had me hooked with this intriguing tale. Romance, suspense, and an emotional journey to enjoy. I loved reading Those Texas Nights. I highly recommend it to readers everywhere.

Rating: 4.5-stars

Review:

Physical Forces is an entertaining romantic suspense read from the beginning. D.D. Ayres is a a writer who knows what readers want in a novel. This tale showed me the K-9 teams in action. The bond between them and the dogs was believable. I fell in love. I can’t imagine anyone not falling for this group of characters both the two and four legged kind.

Inside Physical Forces by D.D. Ayres, I met a woman lacking her licesnce as a private investigator who went all out to find missing greyhounds. Macayla Burkett is a detective for animals. They go missing, she’s gets called. She loves helping owners find their pets. Her personality is strong. Macayla is independent, likes to work her own hours, and fend for herself. She’s smart and pretty. However, Macayla ends up stumbling into a situation that’s a whole lot more serious than her previous adventures. This time, she’ll need help…which comes in the form of Oliver Kelly. Talk about heat! The whole story from this point on, was intense. The raw desires flying like electricity in the air between both Macayla and Oliver. Their situation at hand is dangerous and it’s only a matter of time until they explode…overall, I highly recommend this engaging romance to readers everywhere. I loved the action, intrigue, and the passion between the charcaters. Don’t forget the amazing dogs, too!

Review:

Scorching Road by both Toby Neal and Emily Kimelman is as exactly as it sounds…scorching hot! I have read previous books by the talented writer, Toby Neal, and I was immediately taken to this new title. I know this work was a piece featured by two writers and I couldn’t distinguish either writer’s handiwork within the novel. It read as tho it had been written only by one. These two writers have a unique talent in making a deeply suspenseful yet sexy tale. There’s a flu that is proving deadly across the nation. Dr. Elizabeth Johnson and her partner were working on the vaccine. Only her partner finally got it down…yet it cost him his life. Now, the vaccine is in her hands and it will take everything she has to get it completed in time. But things get complicated. Her plane crashes…she meets a man unlike any other and together they venture out for one of the toughest journeys ever told. Epic, stunning, and brilliantly woven. I couldn’t stop reading, Scorching Road. This romantic suspense piece kept me hooked from beginning to end. I look forward to the next grand scheme by these writers. They sure knew how to capture my attention inside this exciting plot. Overall, I highly recommend it to readers everywhere.

Review: Checkmate (This is War)

Synopsis:

Introducing The Checkmate Duet from a secret duo of bestselling authors! Checkmate: This is War is an enemies to lovers romance that will have you crying with laughter one moment and screaming in frustration the next… but you’ll be begging to play the game with The King.

Game on.
***
Travis King is the worst kind of a**hole.

He taunts me for being a good girl and mocks my high standards.

He’s cruel, crass, and has enough confidence to last two lifetimes.

And I hate him.
It wouldn’t matter so much if he were avoidable.

But considering he’s my older brother’s best friend and roommate, I see him more than I’d ever want to.

His sculpted abs and gorgeous eyes are wasted on such an arrogant man, which makes me hate him even more.
Even though I’ve had a crush on him since I was ten, the feelings weren’t mutual and he’s made that very clear.

He’s always loved getting under my skin and one night against my better judgment, I let him in my bed.

I’ve succumbed to his manw**re ways, but that doesn’t change a thing.

Because the King is about to get played at his own game–and lose.
Checkmate.

Review:

Checkmate: This is War by Kennedy Fox deserves 5-stars for the heat, action, and sexy plot. However, I give it the 4-stars due to the main characters. King is a grown man whose too sexy for his own good. His cocky arrogant ways make him a dick. Especially the way he treats Viola. What kind of man has sex with women when the one he wants is so close to where he’s sleeping with other women? I can see a man having sex with as many women as possible trying to get the one woman he can’t have out of his system…but for some fated reason, King can’t get Viola out of his system. Viola can’t ignore him either. She’s ticked off at him. She should hate him…plus, she should move as far away from that man. But she doesn’t. That’s what gets me. Women heroines would try to get as far away as possible and most men wouldn’t be like King. Their world is so messed up…that it almost reminds me of Romeo and Juliet in a way. But a lot more crazy. And stupid. The writing is fabulous. Other than the way the characters act, I’d say this would be a fascinating romance. If readers are just looking for a hot read sexy read than, yes, this is it. But if you’re like me and need that emotional attachment and understanding connection to the characters as well as the heat then, this is where it lacks some. The banter between characters is great. But the King’s treatment of Viola was great. I felt like Viola succumbed to his bad treatment of her due to pure desires distracting her. Overall, Checkmate: This is War was okay.

Review: Checkmate (This Is Love)

Synopsis:

The anticipated conclusion of The Checkmate Duet from a secret duo of bestselling authors! Checkmate: This is Love is an enemies to lovers romance that will have you crying with laughter one moment and screaming in frustration the next… but you’ll be begging to play the game with The King.

Game on.

Viola Fisher is the epitome of perfection.

She despises my one-night stands and mocks my less-than-classy habits.

She’s smart, beautiful, and too good to be true.

And I want her.

If she were anyone else, I’d have made my move years ago, but considering she’s my best friend’s little sister, she’s always been off-limits. Not to mention how much she loathes my very existence.

Hating me is her religion, but needing her is mine. Her sexy curves and filthy smart mouth make me want her even more, and I’m more determined than ever to change her mind.
I’ll prove I’m done playing games.

But until then, we’ll continue to play by her rules.

Viola Fisher may have won the battle, but the war isn’t over yet.

Checkmate, princess.

**This is Love is book in the Checkmate Duet. You must read This is War first.**

Review:

Checkmate: This is Love by Kennedy Fox is the second best installment to a sexy romance series. Take a bad boy player and a strong woman and the heat is on…both characters have a way of pulling me into their strong. I could felt their emeotions. The sensual play, their bantering, and  their frustrations. Sweet, hot, and addictive to read.

This second tale, continues where the first one left off…luring me back into the messy complicated world of Viola and King. There is more tan sexual heat going on…their are hearts on the line. I love the chemistry and the stubbornness of the characters. Kennedy Fox definitely knew how to draw me into her novel. Checkmate: This is Love is a book, I couldn’t stop reading. It’s the second part to an epic journey. Can’t wait to find out how it ends…overall, I recommend it to readers everywhere.

Rating: 5-stars

Review:

Somewhere on St. Thomas by Toby Neal is a sexy romance. I was got up by the instant connection the two main characters had. Just one meeting was all it took. Ruby has this thing about sailors…not good enough for her. Or so she said until Rafe came into her life. Right after winning the spelling bee, her mom introduced her to Rafe. Ruby of course is heading off to college in Boston. Rafe goes sailing out in the ocean…never would work out or would it? Ruby sets Rafe off like a bunch of fireworks. All she did was be herself and show off her sport skills. That and her beauty has him hooked. He’s ruined. No other redhead will do. Only Ruby. Ruby isn’t a saint. She wants sex. Rafe sets her down that path of sexual wanting that it frightens her. She runs away scared. But before she leaves the island…Rafe comes back to say goodbye but leaves her something. From there the novel picked up rather quickly. I was intrigued. These two could make any readers blush far worse than Ruby’s worst blushing spells. The heat comes off the pages. Their intense love and attraction made this felt so real. Their life it seems is connected. Somewhere on St. Thomas is a hot read. Heat, action, and believable characters. Once more, Toby Neal has created a stunning world of fiction. One that lured me deep into its depth and had me wanting more. I loved it. I do recommend this for those eighteen and older due to the adult content inside…other than that I highly recommend it to all.

Candy’s Kisses by Carys Weldon is the steamiest, hottest, and sweetest romance ever. The characters will leaves readers swooning faster than they can blink. Sex appeal plays a high role in this read. A smoking hot country boy and a city girl meet at a bar. Due to the urging of a cousin/ best friend, they meet. When they do, the instant chemistry smolder into hot flames. Sexy, irresistible, and exciting. Never a boring moment in this book. Love is hard. Candy isn’t the kind to go sleeping around…and neither is Levi. But he’s hooked after that first kiss. Review: One Step Behind

Synopsis:

London, 1812. When the unconventional Gemma Lancaster embarked on a mission to infiltrate high society and avenge her beloved cousin’s murder she never, would have guessed she’d end up in the arms of a thief. At least, that’s what she assumes when she discovers Lucas Stone breaking into a private safe.

Lucas Stone, the Earl of Winchester, has a reputation for arrogance and a soft-spot for his sister, which is how he ends up in the predicament of hiding behind a curtain at midnight with the dreadfully dull Miss Gemma Lancaster. But he soon discovers appearances can be deceiving when the country mouse turns into a spitfire in front of his eyes and she makes it clear she wants nothing to do with him.

Though one is chasing a blackmailer and the other a murderer, they quickly realize they are on the hunt for the same villain. Now they must work together, which would be fine, if they could decide if they’d rather fall in love or kill one another.

Review:

One Step Behind is an enticing read. It lures readers back in time to the regency period. Brianna Labuskes’ historical romance is intense, sexy, and highly entertaining. The quarrel between a red-headed woman and a man highly regarded by the ton, is fun to watch. Their sparring keeps readers on their toes…constantly.  A female heroine strong and not to be distracted until a handsome man captures her attention. Especially, on a night of her clandestine mission. But then he too is on a mission. It’s not until that moment that both find out they share the same need. Plus, a more physical one that develops between them both. Causing both to think of nothing else. It’s quite dangerous to let an attraction disturb one from gaining the truth. There’s a murderer walking around free and both main characters are set to catch him. One Step Behind is an amazing novel. It has everything that baited, lured, and hooked me right into its plot. Fast-paced and bold, Brianna Labuskes’ writing is phenomenal. Overall, I highly recommend this romance to all.

Review:

The Change Up by Elley Arden is definitely a hot sexy read. One that will blow readers away with every flick of a page. The characters go head-to-head battling for a cause that they want…until their hearts get in the way of their relationship. Elley Arden brings readers a novel that portrays characters with real life issues that make it easy for readers to connect with the characters. The scenes are well-developed and the story is brilliantly well-written.  A strong businesswoman determined to follow her father’s orders even as with each day his health gets worse…and then there’s the sexy alpha sports guy that will just complicate things worse…can one juggle a business deal and romance at once?  The Change Up is a contemporary romance that features baseball, romance, and intrigue. Sparks fly high and the heat will make any reader fall in love. This was the first novel, I have read by this talented writer, and I look forward to reading more of her work in the future. Overall, I highly recommend this beautiful romance to all.

Review:

Bed of Lies by Shelly Ellis is her second best novel yet. I was amazed how she keeps all the drama, trouble, and scandals afloat in this new exciting book of hers. Once again readers are brought back to the irresistible family, the Murdochs. As we have seen in book one scandals are just one major pain in the side that the family has yet to endure. Evan Murdoch and his fiancee finally get through the first round of trouble that headed their way and now it’s coming back. However, it will be his friend Terrance, Terrance’s half brother Dante, and Evan’s sister who will be stirring up a bee’s nest. Can Evan Murdoch keep his wits this time or will it all be too much for him to handle?

Bed of Lies is exactly what’s inside this new title. Shelly Ellis is a talented writer whose plots have readers coming back for seconds. This time, readers get second helpings on the Murdoch family and their friends. A woman carrying child but not sure who the actual father is and receiving blackmails from a man that may be the father of the baby will keep readers in suspense all the way until the last page. Shelly Ellis’s novels are juicy with enough action, heat, and spice to lure readers every time. Overall, I highly recommend this romance novel to all.

Beautiful Ruin by Amy Olle will beautifully ruin readers for any other romance novel. Amy Olle has a power with words that pulls readers deep into her characters souls and into their realistic worlds. Life is beyond easy or simple. A rich girl who pushes her rich lifestyle away trying to make herself into a human being that others can admire will surely get readers attention especially when you add the bad boy gone good, to this mix…Hot, exciting, and one super addictive read. Readers won’t know what hit them when they read this title. I was amazed at the plot…that lured me in fast and kept me in until the last page. I felt like I was in the book and witnessing ever thing. At the same time, I wasn’t just witnessing it, I felt like I stepped into the main character’s shoes. Talk about wow. Amy Olle is indeed talented and I can’t wait to read more by her in the future.
