The Prodigal Is Coming Home
It’s been a long time since Colt Stafford shrugged off his cowboy legacy for shiny Manhattan loafers and a promising career on Wall Street. But when stock market manipulations leave him financially strapped, the oldest son of legendary rancher Sam Stafford decides to return to the sprawling Double S ranch in Gray’s Glen, Washington. He’s broke, but not broken, and it’s time to check in with his ailing father, and get his legs back under him by climbing into the saddle again.
He doesn’t expect to come home to a stranger pointing a loaded gun at his chest— a tough yet beautiful woman that Sam hired as the house manager. Colt senses there’s more to Angelina Morales than meets the eye and he’s determined to find out what she’s hiding…and why.
Colt’s return brings new challenges. Younger brother Nick has been Sam’s right-hand man at the ranch for years and isn’t thrilled at having Colt insert himself into Double S affairs. And the ranch’s contentious relationship with the citizens of Gray’s Glen asks all the Stafford men to examine their hearts about what it truly means to be a neighbor. And as Wall Street recovers, will Colt succumb to the call of the financial district’s wealth and power—or finally the courage to stay in the saddle for good?
Back in the Saddle by Ruth Logan Herne is a clean romantic tale that swept me off my feet. I love anything featuring sexy cowboys, horses, and unexpected romances. This book has it all. Past that continues to haunt the charcaters, faith, and forgiveness. Anything impossible is possible after all.
Ruth Logan Herne brings readers Colt Stanford. A cowboy returning to his family’s ranch after his career in the city plunges. Returning home seems like a good idea until he finds himself between a gorgeous woman and her gun. Talk about surprises! Getting back in the saddle may prove harder than Colt thought. Complete Stand Alone/No Cliffhanger
I slept with the wrong twin.
And all I got for it in return was a broken heart.
Oh yeah, and a baby on the way–there’s that too.
But I’m determined to make it on my own. I don’t need a man, thank you very much. Not rich, charismatic, and decidedly flighty Rex Roosevelt, and especially not his twin brother, Justin.
No matter that the gorgeous former military doctor makes my heart beat a little faster . . . and all spots lower than that pay careful, careful attention.
None of that matters. The Roosevelt men are dangerous and I’m steering clear.
The trouble is, Justin refuses to leave me be.
And deep down, I don’t want to avoid him.
Deep down, I want to be even closer.
Disaster at Roosevelt Ranch by Elise Faber is hot, steamy, and exciting! I loved it. The characters are swoon worthy. Sexy, smart, and funny too. The leading male character is internally flawed but despite those flaws he’s the man every woman wants in her life. Meet Justin Roosevelt. The older brother of the man who knocked up an employee and left. Justin comes back to handle the family ranch. Once he’s back, he meets a woman who pulls at his heart. She does the unlikely and pukes all over his shoes and clothes. The most embarrassing moment but also the moment when Justin’s realizes her situation. Her love for horses has lead her back into Justin’s life. From there the shocking truth takes them on a beautiful journey. I loved the brickering between characters. Justin is the hero who is strong enough to handle any stubborn woman…and that one stubborn woman has him so tangled up inside he’s not sure to give into his heart or play it safe. The female character yer was easy to relate as well. Her situation was believable. Her spunky no sugar coated talk made her real. Readers with a fondness for animals and comedy will love this sweet romance. Disaster at Roosevelt Ranch is a must read for all. I highly recommend Elise Faber’s novel to readers everywhere.

The trouble is, she can’t stand pretending to be someone she’s not—especially around the cowboy who tempts her to stay put.
Gunnar Peterson has spent six months working at Whisper Creek, and he’s never been happier. Having grown up an army brat, he’s ready to put down roots, and the only thing missing is a woman to share his life with. Unlucky in Love by Maggie McGinnis is the best romance. I love the characters, the scenes and all. Maggie McGinnis has a way of showing a story to readers and leaving them in the story even after they have reached the last page. The emotions were real. The tension from both of the main characters was like a playing a tug of war with themselves and not winning. A sexy hot cowboy, who has had it rough in growing up…doesn’t want to be anything like his father. He keeps trying not to fall for the red headed beauty that walked into his life. But something keeps tugging him right back to her. Like an undeniable attraction of a magnet. Then, there’s the good girl nurse. She does everything to help her mother who can be a lot to handle at times. Her younger sister ends of leaving the majority of responsibility onto her shoulders. However, her sister is also, a good friend when it comes to her bad ex. Being left two weeks before one’s wedding is a raw enough scar…but only time will tell if both the cowboy and nurse can have a happily ever after or forever e cursed. Unlucky in Love is a new must read for all. I can’t think of one reason why readers wouldn’t love this contemporary sweet yet sexy romance. One that takes place in the West. Did I mention hot cowboys with a heart of gold? Overall, I highly recommend this novel to all.
For hundreds of years, generations of wild mustangs have roamed large parts of the western United States. Many of these magnificent animals can live their entire lives without ever seeing a single human being. Being completely self-sufficient, they inhabit the wilderness in groups, living together peacefully and posing no threat to any of the other animals with which they share the land.
Through knowledge that has been passed down to them from their ancestors, these horses are masters of survival and know what things to fear and how to protect themselves from those dangers.
This is the story of a special horse. His life begins much the same as the other young horses in his group, but will turn out to be much different. Through no fault of his own, he is separated from everything he has come to know and thrown into an entirely different way of life. Although his world changes drastically, his adventures continue until he finds himself in the unexpected position to repay a kindness that was once shown to him.
Friendship can sometimes be found in the least likely forms, in the most difficult times.

Meeting of the Mustangs by Cathy Kennedy is almost like that of White Fang and Call of the Wild. The tale instantly sweeps readers into a young horse’s perspective. Everything is seen and analyzed through the animal’s eyes. I enjoyed reading this adventure story. The journey was challenging but good. The plot is one that will melt every reader’s heart. Animals are pure and innocent and when facing dangers by both the wild and by cruel human beings we want to jump in and rescue the animal. But somehow everything works out…if nature allows it to happen. The wild is an extraordinary place. One that captivates all. I found myself intrigued, about the black colt and his journey. Overall, this was a quick and entertaining read. I recommend it to all animal lovers.

Shunned No More by Christina McKnight is a historical romance that swept me away. I loved following the main characters, both Lady Viola, and Earl Brock. These two have a shared tragedy from the past that continues to haunt them both. However, for Lady Viola, the past wrong was her doing…and the guilt of it still keeps her shunned away from London’s society…until her business in the country is ruined by a trusted friend. Then, there’s her father’s insistence that she goes back to London to find herself a husband. But Lady Viola isn’t ready to be put out in the open by an unwelcoming society. But her father won’t let it go. For Earl Brock, the event of both his twin brothers’ deaths has caused him feeling lonely after returning back home. His father died before Brok got to say goodbye. With London’s gossip column, it’s hard to let go of the family tragedy…until fate has spun him and Lady Viola aka the culprit of the trouble together. What happens next kept me turning the pages eager to read it all. Christina McKnight has masterfully brought out a tale that is heartbreaking, swoon-worthy, intriguing, and heart melting in the end. I couldn’t pass up on this fabulous read…the talent shines brightly on every page as the characters dilemma, worries, and struggles became my own. Her best bet is to stay away
Was Olivia hearing this right? The one man in Indian Lake she’d found truly intriguing since, well, forever—the hopelessly handsome heir to the region’s most successful farming operation, Rafe Barzonni—was involved in horse racing? That made him, and her sudden attraction, downright dangerous. He wasn’t just out of her league. He was a gambler. Like her father. With the shame of her father’s racetrack betting addiction still haunting her, Olivia can’t be part of that world. Rafe’s world. She can’t trust him, or his magnetism. But there’s something deep in his incredible blue eyes that keeps drawing her closer…

Fear of Falling by Catherine Lanigan is exactly as the title states. Both of the main characters have their own issues to deal with…issues that involve horses, fear of the past, and a love that burns hotter than any fire. Catherine Lanigan’s contemporary romance tale is one that will warm the hearts of every reader. The characters have their own issues that keep them from going after their dreams. Can the past really scared us, so badly that we will let go the best thing that’s ever happened to us? A realistic portrayal of how life really works and how fast we can lose what matters most. This was my first novel read by Catherine Lanigan and she has powerfully sucked me in with every word. Her talent is evident to all who read her novels. The plot is well-developed and steady paced. I enjoyed a novel that showed two people hopelessly in love who have a love of horses and struggle just like we do. Overall, I highly recommend this delightful story to all.
