Review: Hot Georgia Rein

Synopsis:

First loves don’t last, not like you think they will when you’re in the beginning or middle of them. First loves are fun and painful, giving you the beauty and darkness of life in a single relationship, breaking your fantasies like a twig and making you realize that life is not all sunshine, sparkling fireflies, and rainbows. No, it’s not pretty at all. First loves build you up, and just when you think that life can’t get any better, they shatter into a million raindrops, making you see how life really works. First loves crush you, ruining you for anyone else.

That’s what Ivy Lynn Abney and Henry Lee Rein have battled with since things ended between them three years ago. Neither of them have spoken and are still hung up on what occurred. They both have regrets and the love they once had for each other never really went away. They were young and wanted different things. Have their wants changed enough to allow their love to reignite? Can first loves become second loves even with secrets?

Review:

Hot Georgia Rein by Martha Sweeney is out of this world. Her new romance novel sizzles with fire. Leaving me in love and completely satisfied with the material presented on the pages. Martha Sweeney has once again lured me deeply into her world of fiction. I have read a variety of genres written by this writer. She has never once disappointed me. Martha goes for something and does it with such raw talent that it leaves readers, like me, wondering how she does it. Magic…that’s the only solution I came up with so far.

Characterization was well-done. Ivy and Rein are two unforgettable protagonists. Their chemistry and lust runs hot. Here, I got to watch as their last collided with their present lives. I got their backstory. It all made perfect sense. Yet, even with the sides and perspectives in every chapter, I still wasn’t sure how how their relationship was going to work. They could end up together or broken apart again. Martha Sweeney cleverly keep me in suspense throughout the entire book. Until the ending…that’s when I finally got my answer.

Hot Georgia Rein is both fast-paced and sexy as hell. Ivy and Rein can’t be near each other and keep their hands off each other. Their story was sad, intense, and hilarious. They loved each other more than just bedding each other. Rein and Ivy clicked. Knew when the other was lying or what the other wanted. Yes, their relationship is unconventional. But it worked out for them. Love was raw and fresh in this contemporary romance. I was hoping for the best for them as a couple…so many twists and turns lead me to thinking certain things would never happen between them. Martha Sweeney is indeed a talented writer. I love her work. Her characters…are real. They don’t follow a mold. They break every barrier set by society and still come out rocking. This was an emotional journey I truly enjoyed following. I loved it. Can’t wait to see what comes out next with this writer…overall, I highly recommend reading, Hot Georgia Rein to readers worldwide.

Review: Knight Takes Pawn (Happy Release Day!)

Synopsis:

Jagger rules everything. The cities from the elite districts, to the slums, and everything in between are his domain in one of three sovereigns on the planet Jaru. The only law is Jagger Law which can change at any moment. One wrong look or word can get a body part chopped off or have you killed.
Since the beginning of the war, which was almost over three decades ago, the air has had been stale and musty, still smelling of burnt metal. All resources needed to survive are severely limited, causing many Jaruians to pillage one another just to get a single meal for the day.
There are some who wish to end Jagger’s power and they’ve started to infiltrate his organization. Money, amongst other things, are just a farce that Jagger uses to dangle in front of his subjects to keep the population in line and distracted. Those who want to see the end of Jagger’s reign want to take control over the depleting natural resources in order to save the planet and the Jaruian species.
Natalie gets caught up in Jagger’s twisted game of power and control when she’s taken from her sovereign. Against her will, like all women who are caught, Natalie is thrown into the Jaruian sex trade. With her new, unwanted job responsibilities, Natalie takes a stand, willing to die fighting for her life rather than be used. When an opportunity presents itself, is Natalie willing to do whatever it takes to free herself or remain only a pawn?

Review:

Knight Takes Pawn by Martha Sweeney is her 5th novel. I have read everything published by this talented woman. Unlike her previous fictional worlds, Knight Takes Pawn heads in a new genre direction. This one is a psychological thriller. All previous books were contemporary romance. I can honestly say, that Martha Sweeney has a knack for writing the best reads. Whether they are short or full-length novels.  Instantly, I was intrigued wondering how this writer was going to do with her new direction. But I was amazed once again. She totally blew me out of this world and deeeply into her new one. Thrilling, engaging, and dark. Knight Takes Pawn is a must read for all.

Inside this latest book, Knight Takes Pawn, Martha Sweeney take us, readers to a new place. Themes like slavery, cruelty, and trust are incorporated throughout the piece. Trust is greatly lacking due to the spies. Martha Sweeney has created a world that no one can trust someone else. If trust is placed in the wrong person…everything is lost. Gone forever. Death hangs in the air. The suspense of what is to come on every page will leave readers on the edge of their seats. Absolutely, a compelling yet frightening read. One woman is tired of what happens to her and fights back. I love the daring, and boldness of the characters. Evil versus good. I was addicted from beginning to end. Overall, I highly recommend Knight Takes Pawn to readers worldwide.

Review: Killmore

Synopsis:

Amazon Best-Selling Author

You know how they say the enemy of your enemy is your friend? Well, I’m still determining if there’s any truth to that statement.
I was used by the Feds to report on the dealings of Antonio Herrera – the major Mexican crime lord since his uncle passed, leaving everything to Antonio. I knew everything about Antonio’s business. How, you ask? I was the only woman he kept close, really close – he claimed he loved me. You get to see and hear a lot of interesting things when you hold that kind of status.
Now, the Feds have me in what they claim is witness protection. However, I never feel safe knowing he’s out there. My family thinks I’m dead. All the while, I keep to myself, avoid most people in my new hometown and train rigorously everyday–waiting for the time when the devil comes calling for his debt to be paid.

Review:

Killmore by Martha Sweeney…is completely different than her other novels. I was susrprised. Yet, right away, the main character sucked me into the book. The leading female character has a way with her personality that draws readers to her like bees to honey. No matter how strong a front she puts out…people like her. Both fictional and non-fictional. Her journey was one that proves believable. She did what any woman wanting survive do..but it wasn’t enough. She wakes up in protective custody. The bad guy is still lurking out there…and one day he will come after her. She lives each each in peparations for that fatal day. Fear, maybe. Just knows it’s going to happen. Martha Sweeney has caught the attention of women who have been in abusive relationships and how their lives spiral out of control. I feel the frustrations, anger, and resentment deep inside the character. The waiting adds such an intensity to this novel. Then, there’s her way of pushing others away.  Like the male doctor who would be good for her. But due to men’s treatments towards her, she only wants the sex part. If they can’t handle that, nothing else is going to happen. A tough, determined, and intelligent woman who fights each day. It’s not easy. Killmore is full of action, intrigue, and suspense. There is romance woven into the tale. Readers will open this up, and never look back. This was an exciting journey, and I loved each moment of it. Martha Sweeney has once again, captured my attention with her latest novel. Her character has caught me, too. Overall, I highly recommend Killmore to readers everywhere.

Book Review: Breathe In by Martha Sweeney

Breathe In (Just Breathe Book 1)

Breathe In by Martha Sweeney has captured both my heart and soul. It will leave readers breathless. I was given this novel by Martha Sweeney for a review. I am happy she was did. The characters are intoxicating and realistic. Martha has wonderfully placed more than just two irresistible characters and a hot romance together. She placed before us readers, a unique set of real life characters. Not just the usual erotic bedroom romance that you can find anywhere.  I have to say that after reading this brilliant plot written by Martha Sweeney, I was HOOKED.

Breathe In features a tale of how one dedicated yet hardworking woman in the professional world has these set of rules.. and how one man comes crushing in causing her to break them all. The rules were set to keep her safe. Yet one man,  such as Joe Covelli enters into her life. Sex is just something Emma needed and none of the men were able to give her exactly what she needed until Joe. Joe is Emma’s best friend’s colleague. He is the one that breaks into Emma’s emotions. Joe is the one who makes Emma quiver and try to analyze everything she’s doing but her heart comes in and stops her. Readers will get an insider’s view of Emma and her past and come to love both her and Joe as their new top favorite couple.

I loved reading this debut novel by Martha Sweeney. She created perfect masterpiece that will continued to be read by many as the years come. Her novel is one that is hard to put down until every last juicy and intriguing page has been read. Perfect plot, stunning creativity, and a romance that will leave you completely undone. I highly recommend to Breathe In or in other words to read and re-read Breathe In by this talented writer. I can’t wait to read book two in this marvelous new series called Just Breathe. Overall, I rate this story a five out of five stars.
