Review: Death by Chocolate Malted Milkshake

Death by Chocolate Malted Milkshake (A Death by Chocolate Mystery #2)

The island fishing village of Eastport, Maine, has plenty of salty local character. It also has a sweet side, thanks to Jacobia “Jake” Tiptree, her best friend Ellie, and their waterfront bake shop, The Chocolate Moose. But when island life is disrupted by the occasional killer, Jake and Ellie put their chocolate treats aside to make sure justice is served.

This summer, Eastport’s favorite lovebirds, kindergarten teacher Sharon Sweetwater and Coast Guard Captain Andy Devine, are getting married. The gala reception is sure to be the fête of the season, especially with a wedding-cake-sized whoopie pie courtesy of The Chocolate Moose. For Jake and Ellie, the custom-ordered confection will finally reel in some much-needed profits. But the celebratory air, and sweet smell of success, are ruined by foul murder.

When Sharon’s bitter ex-boyfriend Toby is poisoned with an arsenic-laced milkshake, Andy is jailed as the prime suspect and the wedding is cancelled, whoopie pie and all. Then Sharon makes a shocking confession—one that sounds like a fishy attempt to get Andy off the hook. Now both the bride and groom are behind bars. And with the fate of The Chocolate Moose at stake, it’s up to Jake and Ellie to catch a poisonous predator before someone else sips their last dessert.

Death by Chocolate Malted Milkshake is a fun cozy mystery. Two ladies with bakery think a milkshake of theirs was the murder weapon. Yet as it turns out…it really wasn’t. But they won’t know that until much later. A man nobody liked is killed. Leaving the main characters worried and in a much bigger hole…than they started with. Jake feels like giving up on their business, while Ellie is still hopeful. But with a local murder to solve things quickly escalate out of control.

The characters were realistic. There was no emotional attachment where I felt like cheering for them. I did feel bad about their sinking business. The plot had mystery. It was entertaining. Just not the omg, I have to finish this tonight or else. Sarah Graves brought themes of family, friends, and intrigue to her novel. It had enough to spark an interest of whodunit and why.

Forever Fudge by Nancy Coco is has all the mystery, suspense, and humor that readers could want. I love Allie. She is the perfect sleuth. Right now, she’s focusing on her crazy busy schedule deflating. But what happens is a movie production causing her all kinds of trouble. Two murders, a deadly killer playing cat-and-mouse games with her, and two men wanting her affection can keep any woman busy.

Nancy Coco is superb with creating a variety of cast members. Her characters are as different as night and day are. I love the quirky, smart, and strong crew. Allie has become my new all time favorite. Her predicament for finding new murder cases to solve is cute. As with each new case, there is bound to be danger, romance, and a lot of funny moments too. I cannot wait to read the next upcoming novel.

Bells, Spells, and Murders by Carol J. Perry is another grand adventure full of mayhem. Murder, secrets, and danger lie here. It’s up to Lee Barrett once more to solve another murder investigation. She has a fiery personality that is fun to follow. Her curiosity and determination to solve a case is crazy sometimes dangerous. She is always finding herself in a difficult position. But in the end there is her boyfriend, Detective Pete, there to come to her rescue. It was funny, sweet, and engaging. I could not stop reading this novel. The mystery was good. So many possible suspects that I was guessing the whole way…I liked the red herrings that the main character dropped for readers like me. It was enjoyable. I am hooked.

Bells, Spells, and Murders is highly recommended for all cozy mystery lovers. For fans of  Angie Fox this is a must read. I loved the main character’s visions and the presence of cats running around…plus, there’s a bit of romance inside, too.

Review: Poppy Harmon Investigates by Lee Hollis

Lee Hollis begins a delightful new series in which Poppy Harmon and her friends find that life after retirement can be much busier—and deadlier—than any of them ever anticipated . . .

When Poppy goes from complacent retiree to penniless widow in a matter of weeks, the idea of spending her golden years as the biggest charity case in Palm Springs renders her speechless. With no real skills and nothing left to lose, Poppy uses her obsession with true crime shows to start a career as a private eye . . .

But after opening the Desert Flowers Detective Agency with help from her two best friends, Violet and Iris, Poppy realizes that age brings wisdom, not business—until she convinces her daughter’s handsome boyfriend, Matt, to pose as the face of the agency. It’s not long before Matt’s irresistible act snags a client desperate to retrieve priceless jewelry burglarized from an aging actress at the Palm Leaf Retirement Village. Or before Poppy stumbles upon the bloodied body of the victim’s arch rival . . .

In a flash, Poppy’s innocent detective gig is upstaged by a dangerous murder investigation riddled with slimy suspects and unspeakable scandal. As she and her team uncover the truth, Poppy must confront the secrets about her late husband’s past and swiftly catch a killer lurking around the retirement community—even if it means turning her world upside down all over again.

Rating: 4.5-stars

Poppy Harmon Investigates by Lee Hollis is an interesting twist to a new mystery series. It’s similar to Miss Fisher and Murder She Wrote. I love murder mysteries with a strong woman sleuth. That’s exactly what I found here. Poppy Harmon is the new detective lady in town and she’s definitely worth following in this book.

The book cover led me thinking that Poppy Harmon was in her tense ties when she is in fact, in her 60’s. I can picture Poppy dressing like the woman pictured on the cover except for the heels…considering her age.

Poppy Harmon is a retired actress left with no money. She then works on finding an income and the choice she makes will make readers laugh out loud. Poppy decided to run her own detective agency with a little help from friends and her daughter’s boyfriend. Like most women sleuth just beginning their epic journey, Poppy lands herself in trouble. Mayhem, murder, and humor are displayed across these entertaining pages.

Overall, I would recommend this new series to all readers. There is plenty of action, intrigue, and peril moments that adds to the suspense of the plot. Fast-paced with exciting characters, Lee Hollis sucked me into her world of fiction.

Review: Murder in an Irish Churchyard

The village of Kilbane in County Cork, Ireland, has a new garda–and her first case is a grave matter indeed . . .

It’s official! Siobhán is now Garda O’Sullivan, and her five siblings couldn’t be prouder. While brother James runs Naomi’s Bistro, Siobhán is doing her part to keep the village safe. Of course, Kilbane is pretty quiet compared to a place like Dublin, where Macdara Flannery has gone to be a detective sergeant.

Then one night the local priest summons Siobhán to the church cemetery. There’s a dead man in the graveyard–aboveground. He lies shot on a blanket of freshly fallen snow, hand stretched out toward a nearby headstone. He’s a stranger, but the priest has heard talk of an American tourist in town, searching for his Irish ancestor.

A detective sergeant is dispatched from Dublin to assist with the case, and as fate would have it, it’s Macdara. After his parting, things are awkward between them, but they have to work together. They learn the victim was from Dublin–Dublin, Ohio, that is. And when his family members are located and told of his murder, the plot thickens. Siobhán begins to dig for a motive among the gnarled roots of the family tree. But as long-buried secrets are unearthed, she and Macdara will need to stay two steps ahead of the killer or end up with more than one foot in the grave.

Rating: 4-.5-stars

Murder in an Irish Churchyard by Carlene O’Connor is the third installment to this enjoyable cozy mystery series. Humor, family drama, and an Irish heritage are woven into this book. Siobhán is the leading protagonist and sleuthing detective. I really like her personality. She’s reliable and well-known for solving crimes. This time, an unknown person ends up dead in the church yard. No one knows who he is. Siobhán gets called in by the priest to check it out. She hasn’t even started her new career officially and yet Father wants her to head this murder case. Father is also another likable character. Easy to love him. Carlene O’Connor heats up the story as Siobhán takes the case. I was hooked. The plot is intriguing and the who done it theme kept going through my mind until the mystery was solved. I had to keep reading! It was fun getting lost within this third novel. I would love to see more of these wonderful characters…overall, I highly recommend this mystery to all readers.

Review: Dead Down East

Dead Down East (Jesse Thorpe Mysteries Book 1) by [Schmidt, Carl]

Dead Down East, a fictional murder mystery, is both detective noir and smart screwball comedy rolled into one. Jesse Thorpe, a young private investigator operating out of Augusta, Maine, receives a mysterious phone call from a former client, Cynthia Dumais. She begs to be rescued from an island south of Brunswick, within a mile of where William Lavoilette, the governor of Maine, was assassinated the night before. She insists that her life is in danger, but is unwilling to provide any further information. Reluctantly, he goes to fetch her.

Fresh, witty and loaded with eccentric characters, this first novel in the series is both clever and stylish. It’s an old-school private eye tale with inventive twists and local color. Carl Schmidt’s writing is that of a seasoned writers. Words that make me want to dig further and solve the case as well as find out more about Jesse Thorpe. Jesse Thorpe goes on a mission to rescue a woman who is in danger. She happens to be in the same area that someone else was recently assassinated. Jesse Thorpe goes about finding the murdering weapon, theft, has the DNA of an accomplice for the murder. If the accomplice can be found and interrogated the murder might just be within reach…but it all depends on if, when, and how. Every page is filled with action of some kind. Murder Mystery! What happens next..

Not again..

The neighbor’s dogs were barking like mad once again. Lora walked near her bay window to see what was outside causing the dogs to bark like hell.  Peeping out at the grass across her freshly mowed lawn and to the dogs fenced up, Lora saw nothing. Until a tall shadow caught her eye.

What the hell? Who would be out at night lurking around?

Hurrying to the kitchen, Lora dials her neighbors phone. No response.

Strange..her elderly neighbor always kept the answering machine on when he left the house for any reason no matter how long he would be outside. But the other end just kept ringing.

Hanging up the phone, Lora grabs her flashlight from the top kitchen drawer. No way was she going to take any chances.

Tap. Tap. Tap.

Fear rose deep into Lora’s gut..

Shit! Someone is inside!

Running, Lora heads to her room but not before the intruder knocks her to the floor. Soon as Lora felt the impact all went dark..

Book Review: Birthing the Lucifer Star by D e Bartley

Birthing the Lucifer Star is written extremely well. A science fiction and fantasy novel, D. E. Bartley has me hooked! The novel is visual, exciting, and highly suspenseful. Readers will be lured in from the very first sentence! I loved reading this story. The characters are believable and the plot keeps you reading for more. My senses were intrigued as events continued to unfold. Shirley, the main character leads a man name Darren to believe he will be seduced, but Shirley plans to kill him with one last kiss.

She then goes about cleaning the blood away and takes a trip to dump the body. She drives to the farthest and deepest place she could find and dumps his lifeless body there. One thing Shirley never expected was for a phone call, telling her they found Darren’s body. Shirley is then asked to come in and identify it. Shirley feels unease and cold. But once she sees the body she automatically laughs, telling the doctor it’s not Darren. The Doctor then tells her that Darren’s wallet was found on the drowned man’s body. Shirley could not believe what the Doctor just told her. Darren’s wallet should have been buried deep with his dead body. So then, how did it end up on this guy’s body?

There are moments, within the plot that made me jump out of my seat! Another character, name Dan Ghostwolf awakes only to find “two glowing eyes” staring back at him. He is then sent out on a quest. He is cursed. His soon realizes his whole family is cursed now because of him. Will he be able to fulfill the quest in order to save his family? Or will he be too late? Soon, Shirley gets another unexpected call from the police. This sends her into a panic. What will happen? What do the police want to question her about? Will she be found out or not? I found out that as I kept on reading that the murderer, Shirley, also becomes a victim within this tale. She has been sent a strange and unusual object in the mail to her apartment from a dead man. This dead man is connected to her husband in a way. But how? Shirley goes on her own quest to find out more about this object.

Once Shirley arrives at her designation, she meets the grandfather of the dead man. Asking about the strange stone. But upon opening the box, she releases a dangerous serpent. A scaly one that has full control over her life. She is soon taken away to another place. Here, she ends up kissing the serpent. Shirley, ends up winning her freedom back. This isn’t the end for Shirley. I highly recommend reading this amazing piece written by D. E. Bartley. I rate this stunning masterpiece a 4 out of four. Excellent characterizations, and a well driven plot with sensual scenes makes for a perfect read. Find out what happens to Shirley by reading on. I promise you won’t be disappointed!

The whole novel, is intriguing. Readers will love following Shirley around as strange things start to happen. Murder and mystery, and paranormal all in one fascinating book! D. E. Bartley sure knows how to keep readers on their toes, and keep them wondering how. There is a little bit of everything in this sci-fi fantasy. Those interested in Nora Roberts and Laura Adrian’s books, then this novel is for you!

Trouble Part 3

Mandy and Josh found themselves at a local cafe. Josh ordered them both a cup of freshly brewed coffee. Picking a table near a window they both sit down and enjoy the view while enjoying the good coffee. Sipping his coffee, Mandy asks him, “What is your involvement with Rose? And why did you say her death was a mystery?”

Looking at her face and staring into her blue eyes, Josh replied, “I had classes with Rose. Both of were studying criminology. Rose had the highest grades. Based off of noticing her papers.I sat next to her in class.”

Listening intently to what Josh said, Mandy what signs of lying..but found none that she could easily detect. Not ruling him out completely as a suspect. He could easily want to frame her for her friend’s murder. After all, she was Rose’s best friend and roommate who left. And nobody but Rose knew why. And why was he looking for her? His statement about looking for her only fueled her mind with more questions than ever. Mandy’s major unlike both Rose and Josh, was in Creative Writing. Mandy wanted to be an author. She wrote constantly, and self published a few mystery novels on Amazon. Becoming a bestselling author has been her childhood dream.

“Why did you say you were looking for me? And you didn’t really explain why her death is a mystery”,Mandy stated back.

Sensing her determination and her sense of loss when she spoke of Mandy’s death, Josh felt sympathy towards her. Yet, he wasn’t going to rule her out completely as a number one suspect. She could easily have murdered her best friend. And being a friend of Rose’s Rose wouldn’t hesitate in letting her friend into her dorm room that night she was helplessly murdered. Was Mandy to be trusted? Or was she the murderer? If he found it she was, he would turn her into the police. But first he would need proof. Real hard evidence, otherwise she could walk away forever. But if she wasn’t the murderer, then having her help would benefit him in finding out who really was. It was nerve wrecking to know a murder took place on the campus that one was studying to be a police officer. Either way, he was going to stick close her side from here on out. So, choosing his words carefully,he told Mandy, “It’s because she was a good student in class and just because of her ‘bad girl behavior’, I have e gut feeling her ,murder wasn’t a suicide like the police think it might be. I don’t think a woman with Rose’s strong personality and I intelligence would even commit suicide.”

Okay ,maybe he really was a blood guy. Maybe, I could trust him, Mandy thought. But, I still will be careful just in-case he turns out to be a murderer after all. “Okay, so if you and I didn’t kill Rose, and we both know someone else did, who had hated her the most on campus?”, Mandy asked.

“That I was going to ask you”, Josh told her.

Great the were both didn’t have an idea of who really hated Rose..This was going to be difficult after all. But maybe with Josh to help, maybe we could find the murderer in time.

Trouble Part 2

Mandy couldn’t stop thinking about what happened to her friend Rose. They were always close. They were Beatles since they were born. Inseparable. Feeling the need to help her friend by finding out what happened, Mandy leaves off to the campus. Surely, there would be tons of gossip, with truth hidden deeply underneath.

Meanwhile at the campus, Josh Nicolson, was perturbed by the rumors. Rose was found laying on her bed, in her dorm room in a pool of blood. Her clothes were just an average PJ set that most women wore. Despite her actions on Camus, Rose McGuire was a good decent gal. But none of the women on campus would say that. They all had their boyfriends cheat on them to be with Rose. The redhead, cute freckled, bright green eyes that lured many men away and into her seductive trance. Rose despite her bad girl image had a perfect GPA and was an excellent student. Though, none ever saw her study. So, how did she do it? Maybe her roommate, Mandy would know. But if rumors were true, Mandy left her best friend and roommate, Rose. Rose was supposedly horrible to her friend Mandy. Rose’s death left a sour note in his mind. Who murdered Rose and why?

Mandy walked across the campus, dressed in dark washed skinny jeans that snug her butt, black ankle boots perfect for walking, and a college tee. Setting out to uncover the truth will be like pulling people’s teeth out, Mandy thought. It’s not going to be easy. Especially since none of the women on campus liked Rose. They had good reasons to not like Rose. But Rose was just an average female college student, very good with her studies, and liked to have fun. So why murder her? Not paying any attention, both Mandy and Josh walked rig into each other. Oops, Mandy thought. So much for being invisible until she was ready. Crap, I’m not paying any attention,Josh thought.

“Sorry!” , they both said at the same exact time.
Silence filled the air. Making it awkward. “I’m Josh Nicolson.” Grabbing his hand t shake it, Mandy introduced herself. “Hi, I’m Mandy..”

“The Mandy that was Rose’s best friend?”, Josh asked her never letting her finish her sentence nor letting go of her hand.

“Yes, I’m that Mandy.”

“I’m sorry..I was thinking of looking for you. Sorry about not paying any attention to where I was going. Rose’s death is..a horrible loss an a mystery. Would you  like some coffee somewhere”, he asked feeling like a fool.

Smiling up at him, and biting her lip, Mandy struggles with her holding back her laughter. “Yes, I’d like some coffee.”

The Runaway Part 4

James dropped Amy at her place after the long day. They both agreed to meet at the station at 7am sharp. Walking through her house after unlocking her door then to relock it, Amy went to her bathroom. Stripped down and stepped into her shower. The hot water felt good on her body after today’s work. Wrapping a towel around her,Amy walked into her bedroom.  After dropping the towel to put clothes on, Amy her a door open…
What the hell, she thought. Grabbing her pistol, Amy walked out to investigate the sound. After seeing that the screen door was locked. But the wooden door was open …
Did I leave that open, Amy thought. Walking through each room quietly searching for any signs of an intruder. Having found none..Amy placed her gun down. Turning her back against a shadow.. Amy was knocked unconscious. Her pistol falling to the white tile floor with a loud thud. Everything went black for Amy as her body fell downward.

The next morning at the station, James waited for Amy to arrive. He had more bad news to tell her. The person they suspected was found dead in in he same way as the women. Except he was shot multiple times in the head and chest. And bleed to death. Now with their lead suspect dead..they didn’t know who else to add to the murder suspect list. Sipping his coffee, the clock went off. Alerting him that it was 7am. Where was Amy Reid. She was famous for her punctuality. This wasn’t like her. Maybe she slept in late. Calling her cell phone number, James got her voicemail. Amy wasn’t on time, and her cell was off. Damn this was not good. Getting up, he and another officer head to Amy’s place to check it out.

Meanwhile, Amy found herself tied naked to a fourposter bed. A gag inside her mouth. The stench of the room made her want to gag..where the hell am I, Amy thought. First, she needed to get the restraints off. Twisting her wrists, the tightness of the ropes left red marks on both her wrists. Taking the gag out and covering herself with her tee that was tossed across the room, Amy tries the door. No use. Locked. Turning around she searches for something to use. She had to get out of here before she too died.

The Runaway Part 3

Detective Amy Reid and her now partner Officer James Weatherson, have three unsolved murders. And a serial killer on the loose. Who are all three victims? Where were they held captive before killed? Were there more bodies to be found?
Questions after questions, reporters were storming the police station. A fourth victim was found in a park. All victims were women, beaten, and starved. Before let out and killed. Al four have different hair colors. A blonde, a redhead, a brunette, and a blackhaired woman. All had different skin tones too. All four were placed in different locations from each other. And all were shortly killed a day before the other one.
What was the killer’s motive? Something against women?  Feeling frustrated the cornors came up to inform both Amy and James that the women lived in the same apartment together. All of them went to the same college.
When they went around asking other college students if the four women had any enemies everyone said no.
Everyone had some kind of enemy..
Amy felt like someone was falling her around. But shook the feeling off. It was a campus. Students were every where.
Lurking in the shadows someone followed Amy everywhere she went. Watching her every step.
Bidding time..

James found Amy and informed her that the criminal instructor was recently laid off..because he wouldn’t allow women in his criminology class. Saying women were too weak to handle it. Amy felt this had to be their killer. James also informed her that he had officers search his home and they couldn’t find him. That it looked like he hadn’t been there for weeks. His garbage bag stunk up his house. And theres no food in the fridge nor did his bed look slept in. James told her they got a search warrant to go through the house and his garage searching for anyhing thay would end the investigation.

The Runaway Part 2

As the investigation was still being done, lead detective Amy Ried got a call about another woman’s body found. This one was in a back alleyway. What if both bodies had same bruises, cuts, and scrapes? If both women were starved…then they might have a.serial killer on the loose. Heading into her vechile, Amy hoped she was wrong..

Once at the crime scene, Amy showed her badge to police officers before being let in. Walking over to the head officer in charge, Amy sees the victim’s body. This time a red head. The other was a brunette. Bith women shared similar marks and beatings as well as starvation.
Where did these women come from? Were they all held in the same place? Amy shook the thoughts away. Yep there was no doubt a siller killer was loose.
Now they have to find out the women’s identies and find DNA of their killer. If only it was that easy.
It could take them years before catching the bastard.

Police officer James Weatherson, knew after finding out about another victim with the same marks, that a pyscopathic killer was loose some where planning his next victim if not already killing again. He’ll need this detective’s help in solving this case fast before more bodies show up.
Too late. A call just came in. Both Amy and James got into the same vechile, while leaving the bodies to the cornors.

Damn it. A third victim today. They better find DNA or names so they can try and trace the women’s last moves before they ended up dead.
Amy felt sick. Three victims! Damn it! The serial killer was doing this on purpose. Maybe she can call her team and ask them for all te coordinates where all the victims were found and come up wih something til the cornors could tell them more.

Remember Me Part 3

Julia arrived at school the next morning. Heading to her locker, there was a sticky note attached. Meet me at the back of our library in the custodian’s closet. Rushing to the library, Julia ran as fast as she could wit her books in her arms. Who wanted to meet her and why? Why the back of the library in the small custodian’s closet? Nearing the back of the library, Julia knocks on the door. Then watching it open she steps in. And then blind folded. “Who are you? And why meet here? And why blind fold me?”, Julia asked.

“It doesn’t matter who I am. Just know that Matt killed Luke. He talked about it for days and then had us tags along and do the dirty work for him. We changed Luke’s brakes with ones that didn’t work. And another one placed something into Luke’s gas tank. It was just suppose to be a car accident that injured him. Not a murder. ”

“But why did you guys do it? Where’s the evidence to prove it?And why are you telling me now?”, Julia asked the stranger.

“Here’s the evidence that you will need. Call home sick now and take it to the police. Before Matt finds out what’s been done.”

Then hearing a door open and shut behind her,Julia takes the blind fold off. Looking down in her hands was a huge manilla envelope. She had to go to the nurse’s office. Before Matt did find out. Having a tattle tail isn’t good for Matt. Nor was it good for the one who gave her the evidence. If Matt ever found out, the informer would pay..just like Luke did. Except probably worse. It was up to her now to give the police what was in her hands.

Hiding the envelope using her jacket, Julia rushes to the nurse station and calls home. Asking her mom to come pick her up. It was an emergency! Five minutes later, Julia’s mom picks her up. Then as Julia tells her mom everything, that happened just today, her mom drives to the police station. Walking with her mom inside the station the soon meet with a detective working Luke’s case. Inside the envelope the detective finds all the pictures of evidence that would put Matt behind bars forever. As well as his friends who took part in it.

Thanking Julia and her mom, the detective gets a call. There’s been another accident. Another student was found head this morning. About the time when Julia called her mom. Julia tells the detective about how she got the evidence. The detective agrees that is wasn’t an accident, but an attempt at a cover up.

Getting a force together the detective and other officers head out to arrest Matt and his buddies.

Unfinished Business Part 2

Kaylee, an exceptionally talented hacker, recently found out her boss was murdered. In his multi-billion dollar home. His death was due to a shot gun wound to his chest. In this case, everyone would say the motive was money. But the only person who would make the prime suspect list was his wife. His wife had cheated on him. Which meant she wouldn’t be getting any money from her husband. Also, her new man could be involved. A few employees heard the boss and his wife’s boyfriend get into a heated argument. Nellie Sanders, our boss’s personal secretary, said shr heard Mr. Roberto mumble about getting back with our boss. If that’s true then he’s another suspect.
The FBI were still swarming the company like bees. It’s no wonder the employees aren’t happy. Using my labtop, I create a thermal ditigal scanner that records as well. I sit as close to my boss’s office and let my labtop record them searching
Who knows who really murdered my boss. Also, while that was recording, I popped up another screen. Hacking into the satelite system, I watch for any signs of a break in the day before and day of my boss’s murder until…
“You do know that what you’re doing is highly illegal, right Ms..?”
“Kaylee. And I do not know what you are talking about..Mr..?”
“Call me Micheal. And yes, you do know.” FBI agent, Micheal had a very good..quick eye. And smooth.
“Shouldn’t you be catching the murderer?”, I asked him.
Oh no, looking up into deep blue eyes..was a bad mistake.
“We are doing everything we can. Now, why were you hacking into the satetlite system and watching the FBI team?”, he questioned back.
“Because unlike you, I am searching for who killed my boss. I have two prime suspects.”
“Wow. Fiesty and defensive!”, he said laughing at me.
He thinks this is funny? Hm…what will he think when I step on his foot hard!
“Hey!”, he yelled at me. he smiling at me or smirking?
” My boss was murdered, and you are sitting here doing nothing!”, I practically screamed at him.
Everyone stopped what they were doing. Looking ay both Micheal and I. Feeling irrated at having been got hacking and not knowing what his smiles at me meant, all I could do was stand there.
Feeling frustrated as well, Micheal turns his back on Kaylee. Leaving her to wonder if e was going to come back and arrest her or not.
Kaylee feeling embarrassed takes her labtop and bag and runs out of the building. Only to bump into.. Mr. Roberto.
What’s he doing here?, Kaylee thought.

Operations Unleashed Part 2

Undercover Marine agent, Tonio Santez still suspected Cassandra Wilks. His secretary. Leaking highly sensitive documents from the company and extorting the company’s money into false accounts all over. What he didn’t know was that Cassandra suspected her new CEO boss as the prime suspect.

The leaks were happening since he started working here. Cassandra decided to confront the bastard using her .22 caliber pistol. That should make him talk. Tonio making his way over to his secretary decided he will seduce her into telling him everything she knows. Just as the two were about to start the interrogations, a gun goes off.

Damn it, they both thought. Next, the lights went off.

“What’s next?”, she  asked Tonio.

“I don’t know, you tell me.”

“What?! You are the one leaking the companies documents and taking their money.”, she growled at him.

“Oh so you do not deny it!”, she accused him.

“That’s ridiculous. I’m an undercover agent, Ms. Wilks. Maybe it’s you”, he accused back.

“Never! I maybe a hacker, but I would never destroy a decent way of making a nicely six figure income!”

“Maybe you got greedy?”

“Maybe you are just buying your time, because I have a pistol in my hand.”

Looking straight at her face, then at her hands, he noticed the pistol. The woman was serious. Better play nice, he thought.

“Okay, so if you didn’t then why are all the leaks coming from your computer in your office!”

“I never use the company’s computers. Everyone here, including my boss will tell you so!”

“Fine then, stay here.”

“Where are you going?”

“I’m going to go check out for intruders and see who’s been shot.”

Damn it. Now, I’ll be left alone in the dark with a crazy guy shooting people.

“I’ll come with you.”

“Afraid of the dark, Cassandra?”, he said teasing her.

“As if, I don’t want you running away in-case you really are behind it all”, she replied.

Just as they headed to the nearest desk, they searched for flashlights. Finding one, they search the floor for intruders. Having gone through three floors and nothing, the lights went back on. That’s weird, they both thought. Police made their way in. Behind them were paramedics carrying a dead body. Stopping the medics, Tonio flashes his badge, and looks at the victim. Cassandra looking over her shoulder recognized the body.

“That’s Jimmy the company’s accountant. He said he found strange things going on with the accounts”, Cassandra informed him.

“Who all knew about Jimmy’s discovery of what was going on with the company’s accountants?”,he asked her.

“Our former boss, who’s dead, Karen, the boss’s wife, Karen’s other man might, and me.That’s all who I know might have known.”

The head police chief handed Tonio a piece of paper. “That was left on top of the body. Thought you would like to look at it before we take it in for evidence.”

“Thanks”. Reading the piece of paper it said, ‘One down, many more to drown’. Handing it back to the chief, Tonio heads back to the office. Cassandra following his every step.
