Review: Hello Again

Synopsis:

Evelyn Talbot, a psychiatrist at a maximum-security prison in Alaska, studies some of the world’s worst serial killers. But she’s about to meet her most elusive patient at Hanover House yet: Dr. Lyman Bishop, AKA the Zombie Maker given his fondness for performing ice-pick lobotomies on his victims. A brilliant cancer researcher, Bishop is either the most cunning psychopath Evelyn has ever encountered―or he is wrongly convicted.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A CRIMINAL CAN SEE INTO HER OWN?

When a new ice-pick fatality occurs, it seems Bishop really was wrongly convicted. Except…Evelyn has a personal connection to the victim and that suggests the killer may be someone from her own past: Jasper Moore, her high school boyfriend who tortured her and left her for dead when she was only sixteen. Jasper also murdered three of her friends―and was never caught. Is he trying to send a message with this copycat crime? The only thing Evelyn knows for sure is that if Jasper is on her trail, she might not be able to escape again . . .

Review:

Hello Again by Brenda Novak is the next best installment in this series. Psychopaths, danger, death, and a whole lot of risks. Plus, a serial killer is hunting the main protagonist down….it’s only a matter of time.

Evelyn Talbots works in a maximum prison where the most dangerous criminals are brought. It’s there thatshe studies all about them unless they make it impossible. Enters, Dr. Bishop. A recent prisoner that has come to Hangover House. He claims he’s innocent and been framed. But Evelyn doesn’t think so…and she isn’t about to let loose a maniac. However, Dr. Bishop might just get his release after all…

Evelyn is still seriously struggling with the past events. Her boyfriend, a psychopath, tortured her almost to death. But she survived. He hasn’t been caught yet….and he’s still after her.

Things get chiller with every page. Brenda Novak brilliantly makes a frightening reality and turns it into one of the most compelling reads ever. I can’t believe it’s fiction…

Evelyn is in love with her boyfriend, a local trooper. He wants marriage and kids with her. But with a killer like Jasper waiting to kill her again, Evelyn can’t move forward…it’s sad but totally understandable.

Hello Again is indeed the perfect title. I almost wished Evelyn could have figured it out…one of her worst nightmares is right in front of her! And then, there’s her best prison study case…he’s clever and manipulating. Danger is always in the air. Death waiting in the air. Overall, Brenda Novak still proves to be the best suspense writer around…her book, Hello Again, sends shivers down my spine. Kept me captivated and hooked me right in…I highly recommend this novel to all readers.
