Review:

The Mist by Carla Neggers is another thrilling adventure. One full of surprises. The female heroine is quite refreshing. She’s raised to be tough and to be practical. Yet her heart and mind want that dreamy tale in fairytales. Lizzie is a strong, clever, and kind woman. She has gone undercover to getting a dangerous man arrested. However, there are rumors he may be able to walk free. Danger, risks, and plenty of action. The sexy yet mysterious Brit, Will Davenport, adds to the story. Lizzie feels the attraction. But her life doesn’t call for it. Will is a puzzle that she’s still trying to solve. Mayhem and danger may bring them closer than either thought. The Mist is a great read. I enjoyed following the heroes as the plot unfolded. Overall, I recommend Carla Neggers’ latest book to all.

Review: Dark Deception

Synopsis:
New Edge-of-Your-Seat Read from an Established Romantic Suspense Author

Kate O’Brien has been leading a quiet life in small-town Shelter Cove, Arkansas, for the past four years when her past suddenly comes roaring back to life. Four years ago, she and her twin sister were attacked by an elusive serial killer. Only Kate survived, and it was her drawing of the attacker–along with some last-minute evidence–that convicted the suspect.

She’s been in witness protection ever since, but new evidence suggests the convicted man isn’t the murderer and she’s been subpoenaed to testify in the new trial. Nervous about the risk, she’ll only agree if the same marshal who protected her during the original trial escorts her to St. Louis.

Deputy U.S. Marshal Tony DeLuca accepts the assignment to bring Kate to the trial, remembering how her strength impressed him. While in Shelter Cove, however, he gets a call from his chief, advising them to stay in Shelter Cove until a new development in the case can be straightened out. But when Kate’s safety is threatened, Tony must race against the clock to keep her alive and put this ugly case to rest before anyone else gets killed.

Review:

Dark Deception by Nancy Mehl is an interesting romantic suspense. I enjoyed following a woman whose life turns upside down once again. Her past is colliding with the present.  A murderer is on the loose and she’s a witness. Yet, as she is being called to testify once more, danger lingers in the air.

Every page is full of suspense. Intriguing story. One man mistaken as the killer. An innocent’s life is in jeopardy and it’s up to one man to save her. Tony is attracted to Kate. He takes his job of protecting her full blast when danger strikes. Deadly, stunning, and cleverly written. Dark Deception fits this book well. It covers the novel perfectly. I was hooked. Some romance, tons of action, and heart racing moments. The pages flew by fast. The plot is well-developed. Nancy Mehl has lured me into her fiction once again. Overall, I recommend this to readers everywhere.

Quills and Daggers by Chris Genovese is a well-written romantic suspense collection. This writer has gone beyond in creating a super addictive plot line for readers like myself to enjoy. The characters are three-dimensional. Their lives are complicated and messy. Realistically told. Engaging to read from the first page to the last. Review:

Hot Target by Elle James is a hot romance. Right from the beginning she sweeps me into her book. I was addicted. The hot hero and amazing heroine make a fabulous pair. But both are a little damaged. Especially, the woman. Every man in her life ended up dead. Now, she and her new lover, are in danger. A killer on the lose with mad shooting skills. Luckily, her lover, was also a sniper and knows how to stay safe. But can he really protect the woman he’s fallen for? Intrigue, suspense, and tons of action. I loved this new romance by Harlequin. Elle James has just been added to my list of favorite writers. Her words are just that good. Overall, I recommend this romantic suspense novel to all.

Review: Beyond Justice

Synopsis:

Hayden McCarthy is on track to become the youngest partner in her prestigious D.C. law firm…if the case she’s just been handed doesn’t destroy her first.

Hayden McCarthy knows firsthand the pain when justice is not served. It’s why she became an attorney and why she’s so driven in her career. When she’s handed a wrongful death case against the government, she isn’t sure if it’s the lucky break she needs to secure a partnership—or an attempt to make sure she never gets there. She keeps the case alive through sheer determination and more than a little creativity, but then she’s fired by a partner with a vendetta.

Further complicating matters, Hayden keeps finding herself completely distracted by Andrew, her roommate’s cousin. But his father is a Congressman and she’s currently taking on the government. Could the timing be any worse?

The longer she keeps the case active, the higher the stakes become. Unknown enemies seem determined to see either the case—or her—die. Should she fight alone for the dead young man by launching her own unfinanced firm, or abandon the case in order to save her own life?

Rating: 4.5-stars

Review:

Beyond Justice by Cara Putman has brilliantly spun a romantic suspense read. One that brings forth legal matter that could make or break the heroine’s life career. I loved the fact that despite what pressure there was…the heroine went digging for the truth. That alone made this novel a winner.

Cara Putman’s main charcater, Hayden McCarthy is believable. She’s strong, independent, and very determined to make herlatest case the best case ever. It’s a tough one, but I felt that Hayden could handle anything that came her way. Her personality is likable. Hayden chose the legal life for personal reasons. After reading reading this book, I admit she was indeed the best at what she does.

Next, there’s the love interest in Hayden McCarthy’s life. A young man who feels the instant connection between them. Hot, sizzling, and romantic. But the complications are there just like real life. Andrew Weasley has a father in politics and with Hayden’s current case against the government, things are going to be intense. The plot heats up with every page.

Beyond Justice is a thrilling adventure. Danger, risks, and a career are on the line. Hanging loosely by a thread. Hayden McCarthy will have to juggle it all until the outcomes are released. Finding truth, working hard, and doing what’s right are just some themes from this novel that hooked me. I was deeply engaged. The charcaters were great. Overall, I highly recommend Cara Putman’s book, Beyond Justice, to all.

Nate was the guy the wouldn’t let loose…and Rachel is the FBI agent who is beautiful as she is smart. She thought Nate liked her…so, she goes to surprise him…in the way most men wished. But it turns out that was ruined. Nate handled that situation horribly. Seeing Rachel there waiting for him, had him set on fire. But she’s a fellow co-worker. Rachel however feels hurt, embraased and ready to move forward from that situation. But a part of her still yearns for Nate. And Nate can’t stop his feelings toward her…especially now, with a new job where both have to be in close quarters as husband and wife. Rachel takes the drastic measures to get inside the compound they are needing to get into…but the danger is one neither could have imagined. Hearts, lives, and and their jobs are on the line. I loved following both charcaters as the tale unfolded. The heat was hot enough to light a forrest on fire. The suspense made me sit on the edge of my chair waiting as the intensity grew with every passing page. Fast-paced, thrilling and engaging to read. Overall, I highly recommend White Heat to readers everywhere.

Rating: 5-stars

Review:

More than a Slave by Anaelle Gadeyne is the darkest yet most intensifying read ever. The Hunger Games has nothing compared to this book. This was dark, horrifying, and emotional. So many issues brought up in a clever way. I was intrigued and chilled at the same time. Aria is a young woman who sacrificed herself as a slave to help her parents. They were barely living and no food, no money, and their home would be lost forever. But the moment Aria is a slave her life changes forever. Aria won’t experience happiness for a long time. Seven months of torture by a cruel man. Then she suffers cruel punishment from in public. But her bravery and strength surprises a lord watching it all. Alexander has been know to be feared by all. He kills without mercy. However, seeing Aria…he admires and likes what he sees in her. Fiery, bold, and strong. Not to mention beautiful. Aria sees Alexander Anderson and likes him too. But knowing he’s a monster has her slightly off…soon, fate will bring them both together and each one will change the other’s life around completely. More than a Slave brings up the cruelty shown to human beings. How those who are rich treat those who are below them as well as how and what slaves endured. I was amazed by the emotional force that hit me while reading this novel. I felt sad, angry, and happy. Eventually good does win…Anaelle Gadeyne has a talent for showing readers the ugliness of what occurs in life as well as the beauty of it. Overall, I highly recommend More than a Slave to readers worldwide.

Review:

Accidentally on Purpose by Jill Shalvis is the most intoxicating romance read ever. Imagine having a sexy hulk in your life daily…he just oozes male and sex. What I really liked was how the tall handsome hulk never went after the gorgeous long legged blonde he worked with…both of the charcaters had restraint to a point. I was amazed. I would have melted on spot like Elle felt every time she went near him. Archer has that no nonsense attitude and he doesn’t like any other man around her…it drives him insane. But she, Elle, deserves the best. It will take some time before he realizes he’s had enough and goes after her. But by then, he’ll need to convince Elle that they fit together.

Once again, Jill Shalvis has created a masterpiece. One that tugs at my heart and has me on a rollercoaster ride. Jealously, need, want, love, laughter…sadness…Accidentally on Purpose has it all. I loved it. The charcaters created a visually engaging tale. One that hooked me from the beginning. A page turner. Hot, addictive, and entertaining. The scenes felt real…the romance kept building up…the suspense was a killer. Jill Shalvis has a talent for  writing the perfect romances that have just the right combination of elements to make readers like me fall in love. Overall, I highly recommend this brilliant story to readers worldwide.

Review:

Because You’re Mine by Colleen Coble is an exciting tale. Her latest novel, full of dark and haunting pages. Sadness too. I was instantly hooked. The drama between the leading female character and her husband’s friend creeped me out a lot. There were times someone I thought was the bad guy wasn’t. Colleen Coble has spun many twists and turns in this read. Beautifully told. A female singer is pregnant and shouldn’t sing. Yet she does so anyway. Almost losing her voice. A light banter between her and her husband is fun to follow. True love. Soulmates…forever. Exciting and most intriguing scenes like a cat that was bombed, a threat from a family member, and a trip to America. Traveling with the main character, Alana, was interesting indeed. Her band mates, three other women were amazing. Funny, charming, and added to the story. The plot quickly turned from one danger into another. Suspenseful, enticing, and one that I couldn’t stop reading. Because You’re Mine isn’t just a title but a theme to this novel. Colleen Coble has once more lured me into magical world of fiction. Her novels never disappoint me. Overall, I highly recommend it to all.

Review:

Deep Into Trouble by Dawn Ryder is another hot romantic suspense title. Right from the start, Dawn Ryder has captured me inside her tale. Between a leading female character rebelling which soon leads her straight into trouble…Hence, the title, Deep Into Trouble makes sense. But there’s also another reason it’s perfect. The leading man, Saxon Hale, is in trouble as soon as he lays eyes on the hot brunette, aka Ginger Boyce. Both feel the tension building and only time will tell where it leads…

Sexy, clever, and intriguing…Deep Into Trouble is a must read for all. Hot characters, flaring desires, and danger will spike any reader’s attention. Just like it did with mine. I was immediately lost.  Fast-paced, tons of action, and the unknown of where and when something will happen. These are the trade marks of the talented writer, Dawn Ryder. She knows what her readers expect and how to satisfy every desire. An investigation that takes readers into a deadly situation is another turning point. Plus, the brewing romance adds to it. I enjoyed following the alpha male as he kept Ginger alive. Their chemistry is perfect. Readers who want more than just a romance will find that this is definitely it. So much to offer and all brilliantly written into one engaging piece. Overall, I highly Recommend Deep Into Trouble to readers everywhere. Until then, I look forward to the next grand adventure and heart racing read by Dawn Ryder

Review:

Law and Disorder by Heather Graham is another remarkable read. This writer’s talent is obvious with every on of her books. The suspense of what is to come always lures me inside the tale. Intrigued, I keep on reading. Page after page, the action draws me further into its depth. Fear soon takes over as the fast-paced, heart wrenching, and deadly story take hold of me. I am left wondering who will die and when. A thrilling read that engages readers immediately.

Law and Disorder isn’t just a thriller but a romantic suspense. Yes, despite the danger, love is brewing on the horizon. Yet, one or both may die. Playing the hero isn’t easy. Choices…are hard. An undercover FBI agent is soon led on what should have been an as assignment. After reading it, it was anything but easy. Nick could easily have killed the bad guy any moment, but he had to find answers. Answers only the killer knew. And to get them, he had to play along as a bad guy in the crazy ass scheme. Wearing a mask, Nick still feared the beautiful brunette would give away his cover. His familiarity made Kody curious but she didn’t realize it until later…friends, coworkers, and family lives are on the line. A killer is loose and only Nick can save the day. Or lose all that matters to him. Addictive, hot, and stunning. I loved every moment of this read. Well-told. Hooked me in from the beginning. I can’t wait to read the next adventure by Heather Graham. Overall, I highly recommend Law and Disorder to all.

Review: A Pawn for Malice

Synopsis:

Does an ex-cop ever lose his “nose” for investigating? Freshmen Senator, Bryon Gallagher, certainly hasn’t, when the love of his life, Jessica, is kidnapped by a mad man. No stone is left unturned, as he plays the role of senator by day and rogue detective by night, calling in favors and working his past snitches to the bone to find her. The only problem is, who does he focus his efforts on … her deranged, former father-in-law who lusts after her, a crazed felon hell-bent on revenging the execution of his brother put to death under the Senator’s newly passed Death Penalty Bill, or an unknown psycho, looking for his “moment of fame”?

A Pawn for Malice is a thrilling, passionate, and suspenseful romance that entails self-discovery, survival and a love, that is so strong, it conquers the evil trappings of a criminal mind.

Rating: 4.5 stars

Review:

A Pawn for Malice by Cynthia Roberts is a thrilling dark tale. It caught my attention from the start. The main character, Jessica, has just gotten out of a bad situation…only to leave a place behind for a new start. Safety. But even then, she’s not safe. Her father-in-law threatens her before she left. She leaves for a job with man who lures her in like a magnet. Sexy, hot, and a powerful man…Bryan is. With his prior skills and knowledge I was a goner. As soon as Jessica is safe, her life once more plunges into danger. The intrigue and suspense builds into overdrive. Jessica is a strong female character. She doesn’t let anyone take advantage of her if she can help it. Her feelings towards Bryan, a senator, grows each time. His attraction towards seems to be just as strong. One man willing to use everything he has to get his woman back safe.

Cynthia Roberts has created a stunning piece. A Pawn for Malice suits the story well. As the characters fit right into it. A chase after many frightening suspects and time racing against him.  Bryan has to find Jessica before it’s too late. Romance, suspense, and danger all rolled into one perfect read. The mystery of who kidnapped Jessica is a powerful lure. I had to know who and why. The writer has skills in creating a novel that entertains as well as sending chills down reader’s spines. Interesting characters both bad and good…plus, a crime fiction plot. I enjoyed reading this novel. I will definitely be looking for more of Cynthia Roberts novels in the future.

Review:

A Key to Cabo (A Rock Pounder Novel) by Dave Harrold is a great adventure. The story kicks off with danger, a cat and mouse chase, and escaping death. There are tough female characters as well as male characters. The plot is fast-paced and immediately appeals to me. I was intrigued by what was to come next. The words were easy to read and follow along to…the scenes buzzed with excitement. There was always some kind of action happening whether it was fighting the bad guys or hot and heavy scenes between the main character and women.

Rock Pounder works for the government. His assignments send him to dangerous regions with life and death hanging over him. There were times he could have died easily but was then rescued. The almost dying with his kind of career is beleivable. However, being in that kind of business, Rock should have been more alert as an active agent. If he was more alert and paying attention there would have been no sloppiness. His sloppiness caused him to be in situations where his life could have been forfeited. But somehow, there was a woman with a gun saving his butt or a former enemy holding a gun at him…then telling him that they were going to be partners. That was the unexpected part.

A Key to Carbo was suspenseful. Dave Harrold kept in guessing. Rock Ponder, the main character has a way of doing things that are spontaneous and last minute. Readers will never know what direction Rock’s jobs will take him. From doing assignments to finding out at the last minute a hit has been put on his head, to weathering a dusty dessert that gets freezing at night, readers will keep turning the pages.

Then, there the romance bits. Rock has a fantasy thing for his publisher. Penelope. She likes Rock too. However, she keeps him off limits. Strictly business only…until she’s taken into his world of danger, guns, and violence. Penelope discovers she can’t ignore Rock but she doesn’t want a life of looking over her shoulder every time. This puts their relationship at the make it or break it point. Rock is a man who has to be doing some kind of action thrilling assignment. There’s only a matter of time until his next assignment pops up…and that leaves readers like myself wondering where and what Rock will be doing next time. Until then, the suspense and intrigue is worth reading this tale. Overall, I recommend it to all.

Fast-paced and cleverly written, I have once again enjoyed reading this writer’s work.

Brilliant Cut brings readers back into the romantic suspense world of Sophie Cavall. A model now, bestselling author and a mother. I love seeing how Sophie has grown as a leading character throughout the series. She’s one that tugs readers into her life story and has them eating out of her hand. All the while, I keep to myself, avoid most people in my new hometown and train rigorously everyday–waiting for the time when the devil comes calling for his debt to be paid.

Review:

Killmore by Martha Sweeney…is completely different than her other novels. I was susrprised. Yet, right away, the main character sucked me into the book. The leading female character has a way with her personality that draws readers to her like bees to honey. No matter how strong a front she puts out…people like her. Both fictional and non-fictional. Her journey was one that proves believable. She did what any woman wanting survive do..but it wasn’t enough. She wakes up in protective custody. The bad guy is still lurking out there…and one day he will come after her. She lives each each in peparations for that fatal day. Fear, maybe. Just knows it’s going to happen. Martha Sweeney has caught the attention of women who have been in abusive relationships and how their lives spiral out of control. I feel the frustrations, anger, and resentment deep inside the character. The waiting adds such an intensity to this novel. Then, there’s her way of pushing others away.  Like the male doctor who would be good for her. But due to men’s treatments towards her, she only wants the sex part. If they can’t handle that, nothing else is going to happen. A tough, determined, and intelligent woman who fights each day. It’s not easy. Killmore is full of action, intrigue, and suspense. There is romance woven into the tale. Readers will open this up, and never look back. This was an exciting journey, and I loved each moment of it. Martha Sweeney has once again, captured my attention with her latest novel. Her character has caught me, too. Overall, I highly recommend Killmore to readers everywhere.

Review:

Sealionaire (Book 3) by both MS Parker and Shiloh Walker is the final journey. First off, I have to say that both MS Parker and Shiloh Walker are a great team. Their combined writing efforts in making this series were fantastic. I was already a major fan of Shiloh Walker’s novels. Her stories brilliant. Then, reading this new series introduced me to another talented writer, MS Parker. I will now, be looking out for her novels as well. Hot, sexy, and a book readers won’t be able to resist. I couldn’t put it down. This last story had every element I loved. Danger, raw desires, and a suspense that kept me lured. Baited me instantly. Hooked me after reading the first page. The ending was explosive.

Sealionaire (Book 3) offered a sexy Navy Seal as the bodyguard. I can already sense the appeal. A man who knows how to react to a deadly environment as well as protecting the innocent. Here, his job just got more interesting. He will have to put every skill he knows into saving a woman. A woman who has him so aroused that it’s hard not to grin. The tipping was that the leading female character felt just as intensely about the bodyguard as he did her. As the threat of danger rose so, did their heat and attraction for one another. Absolutely, charming and steamy. After reading this romantic suspense tale, readers will be begging for more. It’s a read, readers can’t miss. Overall, I highly recommend Sealionaire (book 3) to readers everywhere.

The Secret Sister (Fairham Island, #1)

He’s back on the island, and to her surprise, he’s raising a young daughter alone. Maisey’s still attracted to him, but her heart’s too broken to risk…

Then something even more disturbing happens. She discovers a box of photographs that evoke distant memories of a little girl, a child Keith remembers, too. Maisey believes the girl must’ve been their sister, but their mother claims there was no sister.

Maisey’s convinced that child existed. So where is she now?

Review:

The Secret Sister by Brenda Novak is indeed the best romantic thriller I have read. Readers will be taken deep into the main characters’ past. Secrets that have been hidden forever come out and those that were blamed are innocent. A hot steamy novel that will lure readers in further with each passing page. I loved reading this story. Brenda Novak has a raw talent in bringing her novels to life. I have read every novel by Brenda but this one is the most stunning of her creations. Realistic, suspenseful, and an edge of your seat romance that will have readers coming back for more.

Brenda Novak’s debut novel, The Secret Sister, is one that I highly recommend to readers worldwide. A family so torn apart are trying to unite and fix what troubles them. However, it will be dangerous in stirring up a bee’s nest after so many years of the accident. A sister who was pushed off a cliff, a brother who is an addict and blames himself, and another sister who is divorced and wants answers. But that isn’t all. Maisey is determined to find the answers and another part of her past came out to tease her. Rafe was the older guy every girl talked about and the only one that Maisey spent her first time with. Now back home, Maisey meets Rafe again and their passion burns hotter than coals. Can Maisey have love and help her family? Overall, I rate this novel a five out of five stars.

Review:

Her Darkest Nightmare by Brenda Novak is brilliantly well-written. With this talented writer, I have yet to see a poorly written and undeveloped book. Each of her novels, is better than the one before it. It is amazing what Brenda Novak conjures in each tale. This latest novel is a romantic suspense read that will have readers hooked from beginning to end. The fear is overwhelming. I could feel the raw tensions caused by both they work that the main character does and the romance that stirs between her and the police officer. The attraction is mutual. However, the issue lies with the female doctor who can’t forget the past and embrace her life. Or embraced what her life could be like if she would just let go of her nightmare.

Brenda Novak introduced us readers to a prison where a bunch of doctors wanted to analyze the psychopaths that kill and torture others. They hoped that this facility will give them the research they need to see what causes the killers to do what they do. Their goal was to find out what makes them kill and why in a false hope that they can save people. Monsters housed in one building that has top security. Yet one lady never made it to the facility to work on time…then there’s the sexy police officer who found a woman’s head all bashed in a way that no one could recognize her. He immediately laid the blame on the Hangover House aka prison full of psychopathic killers. But could the killer really be a loose prisoner or someone else that the doctor might know? The suspense as always left me hanging. I was eager to know who died and who the killer is, plus, I wanted to see what lied in the future for the two main characters. Then there’s the doctor who was tormented by her boyfriend. Raped and left for dead…yet somehow she made it through and worked her way to becoming a specialist that works in analyzing men aka killers like her boyfriend. Even though she spent years in therapy, she still can’t let go of the danger that’s bound her in like the prisoners around her. Intriguing, sexy, and phenomenal. Brenda Novak’s new novel, Her Darkest Nightmare, will have left her readers sweating in fear. Overall, I highly recommend this compelling read to all.

Review: Troublemaker

Synopsis:

A thrilling, fast-paced novel of romantic suspense from sensational New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Linda Howard.

For Morgan Yancy, an operative and team leader in a paramilitary group, nothing comes before his job. But when he’s ambushed and almost killed, his supervisor is determined to find out who’s after the members of his elite squad—and why. Due to worries that this unknown enemy will strike again, Morgan is sent to a remote location and told to lay low and stay vigilant. But between a tempting housemate he’s determined to protect and a deadly threat waiting in the shadows, keeping under the radar is proving to be his most dangerous mission yet.

The part-time police chief of a small West Virginian mountain town, Isabeau “Bo” Maran finally has her life figured out. She’s got friends, a dog, and a little money in the bank. Then Morgan Yancy shows up on her doorstep. Bo doesn’t need a mysterious man in her life—especially a troublemaker as enticing and secretive as Morgan.

The harder they fight the intense heat between them, the closer Morgan and Bo become, even though she knows he’s hiding from something. But discovering the truth could cost Bo more than she’s willing to give. And when Morgan’s cover is blown, it might just cost her life.

Rating: 5 stars

Review:

Troublemaker by Linda Howard is amazing. It’s hot, addictive, and suspenseful. A powerfully written story that swept me off my feet and kept me turning the pages. The emotional journey blew me away. The characters are in a tight situation and with danger right around the corner, it’s one heck of an intense battle. One character knows the other is keeping secrets…but what they were definitely not expecting was the explosive chemistry they feel towards each other.

Troublemaker is indeed just as the title presents. Sexy tough agent, Morgan walks into Bo’s life bringing just that. It’s hard enough that his looks have her memorized by his every movement…but something he’s not telling has her on the edge. Bo, a part-time police chief senses, something dark about the stranger that’s just popped up, within her radar. Morgan is tempted by the strong beautiful woman whom he will be staying with as he bids his time staying under the radar. Someone is after his team and until the culprit is found he has to stay out of trouble. Every page brings both raw desire and fear. This romantic suspense thriller is about Bo and Morgan’s relationship, as well as dealing with the trouble, that is left to Bo to handle. The female officer isn’t sure of which to be more afraid of…losing her heart to Morgan or the mountain town’s chaos. Linda Howard’s writing is superb. I have never found any of her novels to be less than brilliant. Her characters are believable and the scenes are realistically done. Overall, I highly recommend Troublemaker to readers everywhere.

Soon after our initial date, she starts getting harassed and threatened. Her pub is even set on fire. Someone is after her, and we don’t know who or why, but it definitely has something to do with her involvement with me. Will our new, budding relationship survive the turmoil and danger?

This was the first of her novels that I have ever read…and I was blown away by the compelling plotline and the irresistible characters. The story was fast-paced, steamy, and suspenseful. The plot starts out…leading readers into the main character’s background and who she is while at the same time keeping readers in the dark…until an accident occurs and leaves Sophie feeling scared. She fights her way out of the situation and remains alive until the attacker comes after her again. The suspense will keep readers at the edge of their seats…and send their hearts into over drive. Book Review: The Secret Sister by Brenda Novak

Synopsis:

Did she once have a sister? Has her mother lied all these years? Why?
After a painful divorce, Maisey Lazarow returns to Fairham, the small island off the North Carolina coast where she grew up. She goes there to heal—and to help her brother, Keith, a deeply troubled man who’s asked her to come home. But she refuses to stay in the family house. The last person she wants to see is the wealthy, controlling mother she escaped years ago.
Instead, she finds herself living next door to someone else she’d prefer to avoid—Rafe Romero, the wild, reckless boy to whom she lost her virginity at sixteen.
