Excitement blossoms through Peridale when a prestigious gardening magazine picks the village as the spotlight for their next issue, but that joy quickly turns to dread when members of the local gardening society, The Peridale Green Fingers, start dying one by one after their obituaries are sent to The Peridale Post the day before their murders.

With her old friend and newspaper reporter, Johnny, by her side, Julia must uncover the truth before every member of the club is crushed like an unwanted weed.
Macaroons and Mayhem by Agatha Frost is the nest best book in this thrilling mystery series! I love her books. Agatha Frost has once again, proven that she is queen of the cozy mystery genre. There’s so much to love about her writing. Fast-paced, exciting, romantic, hilarious, deadly, and plenty of drama to keep me busy as always.
The main character, Julia South, is my all time favorite sleuth. A baker at heart who has the ability to become the best world known detective. She always solves every case. Wherever Julia goes, there’s always a murder mystery to solve. In this case, more than one person dies and a fourth victim as or may not survive the attack. Someone is targeting a garden club. The top members are being killed one by one. Unless the police can figure it out, more people will die. That’s when Julia is called to the case. An investigative journalist friend comes to her after the police mocks him. He thinks he’s stumbled upon a murder investigation. But even Julia is skeptical….but as the events unfold her skeptics may changes and she’s on the hunt. Macaroons and Mayhem has proven to be Julia South’s toughest case yet. Overall, I loved reading this new mystery. I can’t wait to read the eighth book. Agatha Frost is beyond talented.
Soon to be divorced Julia South never expected to be caught up in solving a murder, until she discovered the body of her cafe’s most awkward customer. With a new smug Detective Inspector in town who underestimates her every move, Julia makes it her mission to discover the real murderer, before her village friends are dragged into the frame, and more bodies are discovered.
A light, cozy mystery read with a cat loving and cafe owning female amateur sleuth, in a small village setting with quirky characters. No cliffhanger, swearing, gore or graphic scenes.
Pancakes and Corpses: A Peridale Cafe Mystery by Agatha Frost is an exciting new series. I love the main character, Julia. She’s a divorced women returning back to her hometown. Here, in Peridale, Julia is baking. Baking is her passion. But then, her cakes go missing…and a dead customer turns up…which then, catches the unwanted attention of the new detective. Something about him, puts Julia off in more than one way.
I’ve read a few other book witinnthis series before this one, and I was easily able to follow along. The mystery in each book is different and thrilling to follow. Julia is the best baker. Her hometown, Peridale, is small but sets forth a variety of interesting characters. Intriguing, fun, hilarious, sweet, and sometimes deadly. Pancakes and Corpses is a must read for all. Action, adventure, and a murder case to solve. I couldn’t stop reading it. Agatha Frost is a talented writer. Her pages flew by fast.
“If I say so myself, I am muy foxy!”

But it turns out Pepe is a savvy sleuth—and if he has his way, he’ll soon be a bone-a-fido celebrity, too, as Pepe and Geri are Hollywood-bound to star in the reality show Dancing With Dogs. So far, so bueno.

It is there that they find a new case. A judge most disliked is found dead. Many suspects are found making finding the killer harder to catch. Danger, risks, and mayhem are everywhere. The pages are filled with humor. Pepe the talking Chihuahua is my favorite character. Then, there’s Geri an average female who is needing a job to pay bills and feed both her and Pepe. Geri is learning to be a detective and Pepe is helping her learn. And it’s not long before another case finds the pair. Hilarious, well-developed, and a perfect read for animal lovers worldwide. I enjoyed reading the first novel in this series. This second book, was just as good. Overall, I recommend it to all.

Even with help, Stephanie still lands into danger. This time, involving a powerful gang out to quiet her. Stephanie Plum, doesn’t just solve crimes but catches the bad guys too. Entertaining as ever…with a bit of romance. Risks are something that the protagonist lives for….it’s funny watching her go stir crazy with nothing to do. Overall, Ten Big Ones is a great read.

Along with her sister, Sue, they pack up her tiny vintage car and drive all the way from Peridale to Seirbigh Castle, ready to be pampered. The last thing Julia expected was to be caught up in another murder investigation, but when the cruel owner of the family-run spa, Henry McLaughlin, is shot dead, she can’t resist ditching the facemasks and massages in favour of cracking the case.

Henry’s wife and children are acting suspicious, and with an incompetent young Detective Inspector on the case, Julia makes it her mission to discover the secrets held within the ancient walls before Seirbigh Castle claims another victim.
Shortbread and Sorrow by Agatha Forst is another masterpiece. I can’t get enough of this series. Addictive, sweet, and hilarious. There’s always a murder mystery to solve…and baker, Julia, is the sleuth detective that gets the job done. Her romance with the Detective Inspector is wonderful. This time, Julia is supposed to be relaxing but as usual…a murder has occurred. And now, the lady sleuth can’t stop until it’s solved. Also, I got to follow, Julia spending time with her sister Sue. Fun, exciting, and adventurous. Shortbread and Sorrow is a must read for all who love a good mystery and fun times. I highly recommend this latest book by Agatha Forst.
With summer approaching, Ellie Avery’s schedule is ruled by attending end-of-the-year events at her kids’ school—and avoiding run-ins with her arch competitor. When a murder disrupts the core curriculum, can the two women form an alliance to teach the killer a lesson in justice?
As a regular volunteer at North Dawkins Elementary, Ellie would never miss the annual Mother’s Day breakfast—even if she has to tolerate the likes of Gabrielle Matheson. The rivals aren’t exactly sworn enemies, although Ellie still thinks there’s only room for one professional organizer in their small Georgia town.
But when Ellie sees Gabrielle in the hallway, she’s a mess. It looks like Gabrielle’s seen a ghost—or, as she explains, a dead body inside the supply closet. Before Ellie can get help the body vanishes . . . only to mysteriously reappear later at the school.
Little is known about the victim, a secretive snoop with a nosy nature and a penchant for keeping quiet about her own past. Ellie will leave no desk unturned to protect her kids and expose the cunning criminal’s identity. Because if she doesn’t, the killer may chalk up another textbook case of murder . . .
Mother’s Day, Muffins, and Murder by Sara Rosett is an interesting read. The book instantly takes readers into a world with two rivals. Little do they know, that they will soon work together to solve a murder mystery inside their school. A dead body is seen only to have disappeared….making the witness sound crazy. Until, it was found later on school campus. A dead janitor. Spooky read. I was intrigued as to how and why…a mother on the case helping a detective solve it was fun. Ellie is a character that re I do me of my favorite women sleuths. Determined, intrigued, and clever…I loved this cozy mystery. The title perfectly suited this novel. It definitely captured the story. Overall, I recommend Mother’s Day, Muffins, and Murder to all.
Theater professors and couple, Nicky Abbondanza and Noah Oliver, are going overboard as usual, but this time on an Alaskan cruise, where dead college theater professors are popping up everywhere from the swimming pool to the captain’s table. Further complicating matters are Nicky’s and Noah’s parents as surprise cruise passengers, and Nicky’s assignment to direct a murder mystery dinner theater show onboard ship. Nicky and Noah will need to use their drama skills to figure out who is bringing the curtain down on vacationers before it is lights out for the handsome couple. You will be applauding and shouting Bravo for Joe Cosentino’s fast-paced, ribald, edge-of-your-seat entertaining third novel in this delightful series. Curtain up and ship ahoy!
Rating: 4.5 stars
Drama Cruise by Joe Cosentino has delivered my favorite gay couple. Nicky and Noah are on a cruise while on vacation and things get pretty crazy fast. First surprise, was one they weren’t expecting. Family. Both their families came onto the cruise. They caused a groan from Noah and Nicky to smile. Soon their families are planning all their wedding details…but then, other surprises much darker start to happen. It will be up to Nicky and Noah to navigate through the suspects to solve who murdered the gay professors on board.
I was not expecting the murderer to be who it was…I was surprised. Nicky and Noah were funny as always, but this time…the story didn’t quite match the previous magic by this talented writer. The engaged couple’s antics were realistic, however, it appeared the Nicky didn’t mind his family fussing with the wedding plans but got super mad at Noah pretty fast…but then, Nicky was like whatever Noah wants that’s what he wants too. But it seemed like Nicky just gave in to easily to Noah in this tale. Other than that, Joe Cosentino’s writing was great. There’s always a murder case to be solved when Nicky and Noah are around doing theater. Acting, action, and death…follow these two amazing guys everywhere even to Alaska. I can’t wait to see what holds for Nicky and Noah in Hawaii. I love these characters and the plot is always intriguing. Drama Cruise is another stunning piece…once more this book was written strong isssues and heartfelt feelings. Overall, I highly recommend it to all.
America’s most famous ex-child star Jana Lane is starring in The Detective’s Wife, a murder mystery television show in 1985. Guest starring on the show is Christa Bianca, a rags-to-riches ingénue who has flooded the entertainment press. Life imitates television as cast members are murdered, and once again it’s up to Jana, along with sexy ex-detective Chris Bove, to save the day before the lights fade to black.
Once more, Joe Cosentino has created the perfect masterpiece. This book, the 5th Jana Lane Mystery novel, is superb. Five major issues are discussed and well-written. Issues ranging from gay rights to Christian beliefs to AIDS. The entire plot takes readers deep into the trouble ahead. Murder, mayhem, and romance. Jana Lane is an older actress that is clever, beautiful, and sweet. She is a happy mother of three boys and a wife to a great husband. Her youngest son is featured on the same TV program as Jana. By now, readers know that wherever Jana Lane goes to act, there’s always a murder case to solve. Rag Doll is the best story in this series so far…
I love Joe Cosentino’s writing. He incorporates major themes that readers can easily relate to such as bullying. Humor is found within these pages as well. I loved watching Jana Lane struggle with the new on and off screen attraction towards a co-star. Definitely keeps readers guessing. Plus, the troubles ahead on studio cause wide panic and fear among the group of actors. So many suspects…and so little time to catch a killer. Plus, Jana’s nightmares and a personal issue keep the suspense building. Readers will be excited, intrigued, and fascinated with this new title. Joe Cosentino has out done himself when he wrote Rag Doll. I was amazed how he brought up evmerything, keep readers in the dark, and made it entertaining as always. I loved it. This is a definite must read for readers worldwide. A bit of everything for All to enjoy. Overall, I high.y recommend it and look for the next grand adventure.

Sister Eve and the Blue Nun by Lynne Hinton is the first novel that I have read in the series. It instantly intrigued my interest. A motorcycle nun who has the habit and skills to solve murders. That sentence alone popped up an image that I couldn’t fathom. Yet…inside this mystery I was soon able to see and understand it. With all the stories I have heard about nuns, in particular, this fictional novel peeked my curiosity…and boy was I glad it did.
Lynne Hinton’s murder mystery is set at a monastery where a nun’s friend is being charged as the killer. Knowing the friend isn’t the cold-blooded killer, Sister Eve sets out to find who is. A researcher looking at very old documents is soon murdered. The very old documents are missing and an innocent person’s life is at stake. Sister Eve and the Blue Nun is full of danger, intrigue, and excitement. Lynn Hinton keeps readers on their toes and guessing until Sister Eve reveals who the murderer actually is. I loved the suspense. I thought at one moment Sister Eve wasn’t going to make it alive and then she did…at least out of that tough situation but the story doesn’t end after that. Readers will love this novel as much as I did. I haven’t read books one and two and yet I was able to read this one just fine. Overall, I highly recommend Sister Eve and the Blue Nun to readers everywhere.

It could be curtains for college theatre professor Nicky Abbondanza. With dead bodies popping up all over campus, Nicky must use his drama skills to figure out who is playing the role of murderer before it is lights out for Nicky and his colleagues.
