Review: Beautiful Sinner

Beautiful Sinner (Devil's Rock #5)

Synopsis:

Locked in with the town bad boy . . .

Most women would be scared, but Gabriella’s only worried about resisting Cruz Walsh, who’s even hotter than he was back in high school. Cruz was wrongly accused of the high-profile crime for which he was imprisoned; Gabriella’s desperate for the scoop that will get her career off the ground and get her out of Sweet Hill, where everyone still remembers her as “Flabby Gabby.” Being stuck in a supply closet with Cruz is the perfect opportunity to land an interview. What Bri doesn’t count on is Cruz taking “up-close and personal” to a whole new level.

If there’s a silver lining to the hell Cruz went through, it’s that losing his freedom put everything in perspective. Maybe starting over someplace new would be easier, but after years locked up, Cruz values his family—and his true friends—more than ever. So he’s back home, facing the gossip, dodging reporters . . . and face-to-face with Gabriella Rossi. They’ve both changed: Bri wants a story and Cruz just wants her. Another thing he’s learned? Don’t let a good thing slip away.

Review:

Beautiful Sinner by Sophie Jordan is hot, sexy, and emotionally charged. The characters had this back and forth tension that only bubbled over as the pages flew by…

A young man is home again. Ready to face everything, including the one woman he has always wanted, Gaberiella. But she only wants his story. Then she wants out of the place they call home. Can he break down all her walls before it’s too late?

Gaberiella is not afraid the man coming back. Nothing scares her more than the way she’s falling for him. Hot body, check. Strong willed, check. Good man,  double check. But she doesn’t want him at all. Or does she?

Sophie Jordan’s novel is irresistible. I could not stop reading this steamy romantic tale. The protagonists have a way of luring me deeper into their world. The scenes were vivid. I felt more like a spectator witnessing it all first hand rather than reading words off a page. Overall, I highly recommend this contemporary romance to all.

Review:

Texas on My Mind by Delores Fossen is a steamy romantic read. Plenty of emotions to make one cry, laugh, and fall in love. The story was entertaining from the beginning. A playboy like cowboy comes back home. Suffering from PTSD, he’s ready to get back into action. But his body just won’t cooperate with him. Then there’s the woman he has loved since they were kids. She still holds a place in his heart that no other will. Surprises are sprung on these pages, making the story pop to life. I loved reading it. Texas on My Mind was hard to stop reading. Characters were believable and charming. Overall, I recommend this cowboy contemporary romance to all.

Review: Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating by Christina Lauren

Synopsis:

Most men can’t handle Hazel. But her best friend Josh isn’t most men. Don’t miss New York Times bestselling author Christina Lauren’s new novel about two people who are definitely not dating…no matter how often they end up in bed together.

Hazel Camille Bradford knows she’s a lot to take—and frankly, most men aren’t up to the challenge. If her army of pets and thrill for the absurd don’t send them running, her lack of filter means she’ll say exactly the wrong thing in a delicate moment. Their loss. She’s a good soul in search of honest fun.

Josh Im has known Hazel since college, where her zany playfulness proved completely incompatible with his mellow restraint. From the first night they met—when she gracelessly threw up on his shoes—to when she sent him an unintelligible email while in a post-surgical haze, Josh has always thought of Hazel more as a spectacle than a peer. But now, ten years later, after a cheating girlfriend has turned his life upside down, going out with Hazel is a breath of fresh air.

Not that Josh and Hazel date. At least, not each other. Because setting each other up on progressively terrible double blind dates means there’s nothing between them…right?

Rating: 5-stars

Review:

Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating by Christina Lauren is the best contemporary fiction novel I have read in a long time. At first, looking at the cover, I thought it was be okay. But it proved me wrong on so many levels. The novel was out of this world good. Stunning, engaging, heartfelt, and well-written…It was super easy to get lost within Hazel’s and Josh’s world. Both were so interesting, that I couldn’t stop reading. I had to know more about both of them. Hazel is the typical ordinary girl who felt like a loser due to her lack of trouble. She is always having some kind of embarrassing thing happen to her. I felt a deep connection to Hazel. She’s full of life. Funny, real, and entertaining to be around…while Josh was kind, clever, and charming. Two completely opposite people coming together in unexpected ways. I loved following their story. Overall, I would recommend it to readers worldwide.

Only Thais is willing to risk her life for her career. Dunn will not sit back and watch the woman her cares about get hurt. Dunn has issues but he’s so attracted to Thais he can’t stop thinking about her. Thais drives Dunn crazy by teasing him. Both are playing with fire. Thais is now in jeopardy due to the bad guys making her look like a murderer. A warrant is out for her and both her team and Dunn are working to keep her alive. The fun banters between Dunn and Thais is charming, intense, and sexy. These pages are smoking in humor, action, and danger. This one one romance book that I recommend to all readers. Jesse Thorpe goes on a mission to rescue a woman who is in danger. She happens to be in the same area that someone else was recently assassinated. Jesse Thorpe goes about finding the murdering weapon, theft, has the DNA of an accomplice for the murder. If the accomplice can be found and interrogated the murder might just be within reach…but it all depends on if, when, and how. Every page is filled with action of some kind. Review: She’s Got a Way

Synopsis:

Gabriela O’Brien is devoted to the girls at Briarwood Academy—even when their bad behavior earns them an entire summer at a remote campground in Echo Lake, Vermont. When the headmaster assigns Gabi to be their chaperone, how can she refuse? A long, hot summer with neither indoor plumbing nor wireless access might be just what she needs to get her own life in order…right?

Before Briarwood took over Camp Echo, Luke Magellan spent years there helping troubled boys. When four spoiled rich girls and their seemingly uptight den mother show up for the summer, it’s hard to hide his amusement as he watches them tackle the great outdoors. But it’s even tougher to resist the passion he sees in Gabi—especially when he learns about her past, and sees how much she cares about her students. Is this destined to be just a grown-up version of a summer-camp romance—or can they find enough in common to build a love for all seasons?

Rating: 5 stars

Review:

She’s Got A Way by Maggie McGinnis is an exciting adventure. One that takes readers outdoors to a faraway camp. Welcome to Camp Echo. A beautiful lake and scenery all around it…but there are only two buildings on the site. A place for eating and the administrative building. That’s where the plot gets more exciting…add a group of five teenage girls and their home mother and all hell breaks loose. The girls are taken to Camp Echo which now operates under the rule by their snobbish all girls school. The girls past actions have caused them to be sent to the camp. A way for them to suffer for the trouble they all have caused. The home mother had already made plans to go away for the summer yet the snobbish boss forced her to go with the girls. Now, all five have to learn how to survive the outdoors or drive each other bear crazy. Speaking of bears…readers are in for a sweet surprise.

Maggie McGinnis is a talented writer. Her world of fiction excites, intrigues, and creates emotional attachments to the characters. I really loved how each character is realistically flawed and learns how to let go and move forward despite their situations. The teenage girls learn more at Camp Echo then they will in their rich all girls school. Maybe friendships can be made. Then there’s a possibility of love in the air. Home mother and the handyman at Camp Echo have it bad. It’s hard to put the book down. The characters had me laughing, crying, and falling in love with them. This was definitely a feel-good contemporary romance. Love, life, and new beginnings. She’s Got A Way is a must read for all. Overall, I highly recommend this novel.

Regret the Day I Said Yes by Regina Swanson is one brilliant masterpiece. Talk about drama! This story is full of drama. The emotions are so intense and flying everywhere. Readers will be intrigued from the first page. The action and suspense of what will be, keeps readers hooked. Regina Swanson has once again, put her superb writing into another fabulous read. When men have it good with a good decent woman…they somehow think they need something more because their lives got too boring or too hard to handle. Wusses. If a man needs another woman on the side then, the issues lie with him. The wives and other women in this story are realistic that it’s funny. I can visualize all the scenes. Regret the Day I Said Yes is more like a fast-paced movie than a novel. Detailed just enough to pop images into readers’ minds. Jealousy, rage, lust and the feeling of loss are all woven into this title. Great emotional journey. Ups and downs just like real life. Regina Swanson has a way of making her novels real. It’s hard to believe they’re just fiction. Juicy, steamy, and addictive. I managed to read the whole novel in an hour. Absolutely, loved reading this urban romance. The harsh realities that couples face when their loved one cheats…hurts. Friends are more entangled in each other’s lives than they thought. Sex with the other person’s partner. Yet not all couples know that their partner is cheating until it comes out in the open. Children are angry because their father cheated on their mom. Then the woman he cheated with is awful towards his kids…now, he’s rethinking his relationship with her. Friendships are forever changed. The sparks and desires are enchanting. Overall, I highly recommend this novel to readers everywhere.

Review:

Hearts Unloched by Claire Gem is a hot, steamy, yet emotional read. The story is about loss, love, and spirits needing closure. All it takes is…a wealthy Italian man to purchase an antique place. His intentions are to restore it and turn it into a hotel. The Shipley Hotel. Somehow by fate, he meets a gorgeous woman who happens to be an interior designer. A woman that he wants to share his bed with forever. She is  one that captures his heart from the beginning…

Kate almost died when she was younger. Now, she sees and communicates with ghosts. Something about the place where she is designing frightens her. Something bad. Maro is a hot Italian man who drives her crazy. He feels a connection to a woman who admitted that she not only sees but talks to ghosts. Got to love a hot sexy man who doesn’t run away nor treat a woman bad after hearing all that. Hearts Unloched will have readers on the edge of their seats. Suspense drives readers to turn the pages faster. Ghosts have a way of destroying or making your life better. Maro and Kate may find their peace after all…but it all depends on the restorations and what they can do to set the ghosts free. Overall, the novel is well-written and I loved reading it. Characters were real. Also, they were easy to connect with on every level. I highly recommend Hearts Unloched by Claire Gem. Her talent is amazing. Can’t wait to read her next paranormal romance.

Holly’s been busting her butt to make partner at Trousseau, and there’s no way she’s going to let some stuck-up British arsehole get in her way–no matter how drop-dead gorgeous he is. Unfortunately, he didn’t get the memo…

Review:

Six Month Rule by A.J. Pine is a contemporary romance that features all the worries, struggles, and insecurities of falling in love. A woman working her way up in her career is one job from landing a huge promotion. She has never had a date last longer than six months. So she creates the six-month rule. No strings attach and good sex. However,  fate brings in a sexy British foreigner who challenges and pushes all her buttons. He leaves her wanting him in bed just as much as she makes him want her. Talk about complications. They are both brought on to work together. Most flings, involving working partners never work out…or do they?  A man who is more than a good romp, in bed. He has a daughter from a woman whom he’s not married to…that woman is in a relationship with another man. Currently, he’s just a weekend dad. But that’s all about to change. Knowing he has a kid and live in Britain may cause the woman he’s just fallen in love with to run away. But then he has his daughter to think about and he needs to put her first over his happiness. A.J. Pine’s novel is messy, sweet,  and steamy. I loved the characters and their personalities. I also loved their flaws. Overall, I highly recommend this novel to all.

Review:

Unexpected Submissive (book 2) by G.J. Cox is a deliciously hot read. But that’s not all. There’s danger, suspense, and intrigue brilliantly wrapped into this exciting tale.  Readers will once again be swept off their feet into the romance of two amazing characters. Their love just began to express itself when trouble heads their way…threats from an insane stalker. Fear, worry, and stress soon head to the couple’s way. No way of tracking the evil man down. Then, the worst happens. Belle is taking from her Dom. That’s when the danger hits off the charts. The suspense fo what happens next will keep readers turning the pages in a rush. I loved this writer’s talent. Her words held me hostage in her world of fiction. The emotional journey is one that felt so real. I thought I was Belle. The thoughts, feelings, and actions of the characters felt like they were my own. My heart raced…the intrigue killed me. Readers will not be able to get enough of G.J. Cox’s characters. Their story is well-told. Masterfully woven elements that bait, hook, and capture readers into the book. Unexpected Submissive is sexy, addictive, and a definite must read for all. I wanted to cry, to scream, and to relive the story all over again once I finished it. Wow! Absolutely, perfect in every way. Carried enough of everything to keep me lured. Review:

The Playboy’s Proposal by Ashlee Mallory is one that features a proposal made between two exact opposites. One is a smart loving doctor with no social life but her family. Then there is the neighbor. He’s hot sexy and extremely wealthy. Except there is one minor problem…okay scratch that…a major issue at play. The rich guy plays music way up loud…that a doctor can’t get sleep for the next work day. She bounds over to him and tells him to turn it down as well as to stop blocking her driving spot. Then, he turns it down…only later on, to find out that he’s been fined for so many things. This might be the moment when he loses his home and tons of money for a neighbor’s complaint. But to put a stop to the committee kicking his butt he needs to make a quick but best proposal to his neighbor…one that she won’t be able to let go. It there that they start hanging out in order to up a doctor’s social love life. Only there’s much at stake here. Hearts might just get broken in the process unless fate has other ideas…

The Playboy’s Proposal is the first novel I have read by Ashlee Mallory. I was immediately taken in with her characters. Both of the characters have sad stories. But maybe fate can pull them a happy ending. The chemistry is hot enough to start the pages on fire. Kissing that leads to dreams of wanting more…but is it something that they really want? I got swept off my feet and pulled into the story. Fast-paced and well told. I loved following the hot tale as well as the emotional journey. Overall, The Playboy’s Proposal is definitely a romance novel I recommend to all.

Awakening to You by Fifi Flowers is a definite must read for all. Talk about a powerful love that blows readers away. I have fallen in love with the characters and with Fifi Flower’s writing. Absolutely, amazing how strong both leading characters are in their lives. Of course, life and love are never easy to juggle but these two manage it well. Issues like a woman working in a male-dominated area are one of my favorite topics to read. Here, I was enchanted by it in Awakening to You. Hot, sexy, sensual and enticing. Every one of Fifi Flowers novels gets hotter with each book. I wouldn’t be able to choose which of her novels is my favorite. I would have to take them all…beware, once readers read this, they will never stop reading it. Overall, I highly recommend this beautiful well-written tale to readers everywhere.

Review: Beyond the Stars

Falling for him wasn’t in the plans…

Instead, she’s reluctantly working as Jack’s personal assistant, thanks to her powerhouse talent agent aunt.

Jack is private, prickly, and downright condescending. Jessica pushes his buttons—she’s not the type of girl to swoon over celebrity heartthrobs, precisely why her aunt thought she’d be perfect for the job—and Jack pushes right back.

But as she begins to peel away his layers, Jessica is shocked to find she craves her boss’s easy smile and sexy blue eyes. The problem is, so does the entire female population. And what started out as the job from hell soon has Jess wondering if a guy like Jack could ever find love with a regular girl like her.

Review:

Beyond the Stars by Stacy Wise is a contemporary romance that is well-written. Her story blew me away. Here, we have a typical movie star who asserts authority over everyone including his new assistant. Yet, as the time flies by…his assistant sees him more as a human being portrayed wrong by media. There’s trouble ahead for both of them…and only time will tell what sparks between the two. Can individuals with different careers find the happiness they deserve or will it forever be ruined?

Beyond the Stars is a laugh-out-loud kind of read. Imagine a high profile woman giving her ex-boyfriend slash popular movie star a pig…because she thinks it fits him. Somehow, he has everyone convinced that his ex, gave him the pet pig as a gift of love rather than as a bad statement. The pig is sort of like the Marley and Me tale. It’s funny as hell but will also make readers cry and fall in love too. Stacy Wise’s writing is superb. I loved reading this novel by her. Overall, I would highly recommend it to readers everywhere. I look forward to reading the next best adventure by this brilliant writer.

Review:

Yukon Audit by Ken Baird is an excellent story to read. Here, there is action, adventure, and romance all rolled into one entertaining tale. Brody is a car mechanic…and soon he is plunged into an adventure of a lifetime. Little does he know that one woman’s job request will send him straight into danger. Plus, the woman happens to be very attractive. There is only so much that a man can through…will Brody survive the journey all in one piece?

Ken Baird lured readers in by the wilderness of the Yukon and the danger it presents. There is a beauty to behold about the place. I have never been but once, I have read this book, I felt like I was there. The characters were enticing. The woman is confident and bold.  Brody is courageous and a little less confident than the attractive beauty beside him.Yukon Audit was told in a way that was played realistically. I could actually see all of these scenes coming alive. They could actually happen. Crime is everywhere. Ken Baird writes it in a way that brought out excitement. Suspense and intrigue were heavily upon every page. I didn’t know what to expect. Truly a page turning thriller that will hold all to its plot. Fast-paced and masterfully written. Overall, I highly recommend this novel to readers worldwide.

Review:

Who’s Between the Sheets by Shanice B. is definitely one urban romance that readers don’t want to miss. Shanice B.’s talent continues to shine on with every novel that she writes. I can’t believe how realistic her characters are. The emotional journey is powerful and believable. It’s easy to lose oneself within each character’s shoes. Understanding and sympathy can be felt for some female and one male character. Marriage life is full of its ups and downs…especially for characters like Hazel. Her husband has been cheating on her for two years with a stripper. The stripper is pregnant and then ends up losing the baby. But that doesn’t stop the stripper from destroying what’s left of Hazel’s marriage. The marriage is barely hanging on by a thread and only hanging on due to her recent discovery of being pregnant with her cheating husband’s baby. As soon as the stripper comes by with her plan to destroy…Hazel gives up and her husband, Jamal, finds that marriage is just not what he wants anymore. Working on being a better mother and girlfriend to Jamal…but only time will tell if everything will work out for Jamal and his woman. Drama is tenfold in this exciting tale. I was surprised by all the crazy stuff going on that Shanice B. was able to keep things going straight…it was easy and fast to read. I felt like I was watching everything happen as it happened. Incredible…steamy, and contains a lot of adult content…but definitely a must read. Who’s Between the Sheets will keep readers guessing…

Review: Even Odds

Synopsis:

Geeky meets kinky in this first deliciously sexy novel in the Slices of Pi series by RITA-nominated author Elia Winters, which follows the romantic rendezvous of the employees at PI Games, a gaming company based out of sultry Florida.

As a design manager at PI Games, Isabel Suarez is no stranger to the struggles of being a woman in a male-dominated industry. But when her team attends a gaming convention on the other side of the country, she figures there’s no harm in putting aside her professional demeanor for one weekend to participate in a risqué scavenger hunt. Why shouldn’t she let loose and have a little fun?

A careless romp soon turns into more, however, when Isabel ends up having a fling with Caleb Portland, an artist, and animator, without knowing he has just been hired to partner with her at her company—and Caleb can’t bring himself to tell her. When they end up coworkers a few weeks later, they need to find a way to work together and keep things strictly professional. Caleb doesn’t want to take on a relationship and risk failure. Isabel doesn’t want to risk ruining the professional reputation she’s worked so hard to develop. But when faced with the undeniable sizzling chemistry between them, will either of them be able to resist temptation?

A sexy and witty tale of romance and modern workplace politics, Even Odds is the latest winning entry in Elia Winters’ unique and well-loved erotic novels.

Rating: 5 stars

Review:

Even Odds by Elia Winters is absolutely a must read for all. This is one geeky romance that will keep readers laughing and falling in love with the characters. The female character, Isabel, is the only female working in an all male dominated area. Game software. She designs games and is now in the manager position. Before moving to the PI Games she worked at another company. A company where she experienced a disastrous relationship which then lead to sexual harassment. The sad part was that the Human Resource person told her that words weren’t much of a harassment and that they wouldn’t take her complaints seriously. Isabel ended up taking action that suited the company better than helping solve her issues at work. This past life experience has left her feeling like an ice queen at work. Acting as sexless as possible to survive working in the gaming industry surrounded by all men. An area that showed me that was hard for any woman including Isabel to be taken seriously by men as a professional. Her hard work pays off…but there’s one employee who makes her uncomfortable…will she face up to him or let him continue his harassments against her? The other part to this exciting tale was the trip to DiceCon and that’s where everything heats up…Isabel wants to let loose for once and three of her teammates get her in on a game that has her meeting the one man that might just be a forever thing…a man that can not only make her feel like a woman but also respect her in the industry. That combination alone would make any woman’s knees go weak. Isabel and Caleb are a perfect couple. Their journey was realistic and believable. The pages got hotter with every turn….and the plot sets readers on the edge of their seats wondering what comes next.  Even Odds by Elia Winters is by overall, a hot and brilliantly well-written geeky romance that all will enjoy. I highly recommend this novel to readers everywhere.

Review: Charmingly Yours

Then a dear childhood friend passes away, leaving behind a gift that sends Rosemary on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

Soon, Rosemary is swept up in a world she thought only existed in movies. To turn a two-week fling into a forever thing, she and Sal will have to make every moment count.

Rating: 5 stars

Review:

Charmingly Yours by Liz Talley is extraordinary. A novel about a group of close friends that are attending a funeral for a friend they just lost. Their best friend has written them a letter before she died, giving them a task of things she wants them to do and also provides them the ways in order to get the items  done. For each thing they accomplish, they must add a charm to their friend’s charm bracelet. After each woman gets her individual letter, they read it alone. This tale then focuses on one of the remaining friends. Rosemary Reynolds. She is a super sweet, polite, and always the good girl. Her mother mostly tries to keep her daughter in a bubble wrap world where nothing that the mom likes can change or hurt her daughter.

However, Rosemary Reynolds is a much tougher and sassier lady then all give her credit for…she goes to New York to have a little fun and to let loose before heading back home to her southern town.  While in New York, Rosemary happens to run into a super sexy, funny, and great man. A man who instantly finds himself hopelessly falling in love, with her. Both hang out and soon the sparks are flying everywhere. What started out as a new friendship…soon turns out to be much hotter and sexier than originally planned. Hearts are on the line. Sal lives in New York working at his parents’ restaurant and Rosemary is only visiting for a short time…when the time comes will Sal choose Rosemary or will he choose to live a life his parents want for him? Charmingly Yours is by far the most amazing novel ever. I laughed and cried so hard.  The friends are so close to one another that it’s like I’m one of them the group. They instantly pull me into the journey and I loved every moment of it. Liz Talley is a superb writer. I think of the last time I felt such strong emotions at such an early point in any one novel until I read this one. It truly blew me away. Overall, I highly recommend this novel to readers worldwide, and I look forward to reading the second novel in this series.

Review:

Love & Hustle by Willnide Desrosier is definitely a dark and edgy read. There’s tons of drama, trouble, and hearts on the line. Inside this urban romance, readers will find a lot of adult content such as drugs and sex. The main characters are an interesting set. Both come from different sides of the world but share the same kind of experiences when they were growing up…Brittanya is a tattoo artist. She doesn’t want any other job but the one she has. College is not anything she wants either. However, like all women, she wants true love. But in her line of work finding that will be like looking for a needle in a haystack. Then there’s De’Quan. He’s a thug who wins Brittanya’s heart and he too is looking for true love. For De’Quan and Brittanya finding their true love will be difficult and once found it will be even harder to keep. Consequences, drama, and trouble follow these two as their journey deepens. Every page contained a lot of action and enough juicy details to keep readers hooked. Willnide Desrosier’s writing is great. Her characters come alive. The intrigue is thick and heavy. The romance and heat is hot enough to set the pages on fire. Overall, I would recommend Love & Hustle to readers everywhere.

Thugalicious by Tyrianna Gregory is the most complex novel ever. This urban drama is so high the intensity can be felt sizzling from the pages being read. I held my breath waiting for the explosion that I knew was bound to come out…the situations inside this well-written tale are beyond complicated. Nothing like a good messy romance to read. Tyrianna Gregory brings a lot of action, heat, and suspense within this exciting read. Yes, there are a lot of issues happening with the main character Brae but that’s what makes this novel interesting. Life is messy. Crap happens. The writer brought out a realistic character with believable struggles. Yes, I can definitely see a woman struggling with raising a child, with her first love, who doesn’t find out until he’s in the hospital. Then, there’s the issue of her being pregnant and loving another man as well as being buried deep into a dark career. There was never a boring moment on any of the pages. The dialogue was great and the characters fit their roles perfectly. I would definitely recommend this novel to other readers and look forward to the next novel in this exciting adventure. I have to know what happens next.

Review: Troublemaker

Synopsis:

A thrilling, fast-paced novel of romantic suspense from sensational New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Linda Howard.

For Morgan Yancy, an operative and team leader in a paramilitary group, nothing comes before his job. But when he’s ambushed and almost killed, his supervisor is determined to find out who’s after the members of his elite squad—and why. Due to worries that this unknown enemy will strike again, Morgan is sent to a remote location and told to lay low and stay vigilant. But between a tempting housemate he’s determined to protect and a deadly threat waiting in the shadows, keeping under the radar is proving to be his most dangerous mission yet.

The part-time police chief of a small West Virginian mountain town, Isabeau “Bo” Maran finally has her life figured out. She’s got friends, a dog, and a little money in the bank. Then Morgan Yancy shows up on her doorstep. Bo doesn’t need a mysterious man in her life—especially a troublemaker as enticing and secretive as Morgan.

The harder they fight the intense heat between them, the closer Morgan and Bo become, even though she knows he’s hiding from something. But discovering the truth could cost Bo more than she’s willing to give. And when Morgan’s cover is blown, it might just cost her life.

Review:

Troublemaker by Linda Howard is amazing. It’s hot, addictive, and suspenseful. A powerfully written story that swept me off my feet and kept me turning the pages. The emotional journey blew me away. The characters are in a tight situation and with danger right around the corner, it’s one heck of an intense battle. One character knows the other is keeping secrets…but what they were definitely not expecting was the explosive chemistry they feel towards each other.

Troublemaker is indeed just as the title presents. Sexy tough agent, Morgan walks into Bo’s life bringing just that. It’s hard enough that his looks have her memorized by his every movement…but something he’s not telling has her on the edge. Bo, a part-time police chief senses, something dark about the stranger that’s just popped up, within her radar. Morgan is tempted by the strong beautiful woman whom he will be staying with as he bids his time staying under the radar. Someone is after his team and until the culprit is found he has to stay out of trouble. Every page brings both raw desire and fear. This romantic suspense thriller is about Bo and Morgan’s relationship, as well as dealing with the trouble, that is left to Bo to handle. The female officer isn’t sure of which to be more afraid of…losing her heart to Morgan or the mountain town’s chaos. Linda Howard’s writing is superb. I have never found any of her novels to be less than brilliant. Her characters are believable and the scenes are realistically done. Overall, I highly recommend Troublemaker to readers everywhere.

Review:

A Thuggish, Ruggish Love 3 by Regina Swanson is superb. Yes, it contains adult content. The sex is steamy hot and everywhere. The attraction among the characters is enough to heat any night. There’s abuse, drama, and romance. The suspense of what is and will happen to Blaze, Xavier, Mackie, and Aleah is stunning. I never knew what to expect. The romance between couples is high and messy. Emotions, as well as hearts, are on the line. Decisions will have to be made. Once again, I found myself deeply lured within Regina Swanson’s brilliant series. A Thuggish, Ruggish Love 3 is perfect. It realistically portrays the urban street life and the hostility between law enforcement and the thugs. Life isn’t all about happily ever afters and starting a family. It’s about finding yourself, being true to yourself and finding a way to survive what one has been dealt with…I enjoyed following the set of interesting characters as well as news ones. The story comes to life with this writer’s talent on every page. Overall, I highly recommend this latest novel by Regina Swanson.

A Thuggish, Ruggish Love 2 by Regina Swanson has just got hotter and more intense than one before it. Wow…the drama and romance heat up inside this new novel. The writing continues to impress me as it lures me deep into four lives that just keep getting more complicated. Complicated, sexy, and emotional…that’s A Thuggish, Ruggish Love 2 by Regina Swanson. The suspense from the last novel’s ending expands into this title and it’s impressive. The old and new issues get tangled and loyalties blur. Where will Keya, Xavier,  Aleah, Mackie and her brother Blaze end up…then there’s a new character who gets more attention…and Keya might just find a bit of happiness for once. The big questions that keep readers on the edge of their seats are whether or not siblings will stick together or go with what finally makes them happy.

Then there’s his sister who works hard at her job and trying to help her brother and his wife with their issues. Blaze doesn’t want the thug life but his sister loves it and now it’s coming back to bite them both in the ass…only thing is Blaze willing to go to the lengths to protect his sister from what he tried telling her not to do or will he do what he needs to do to be happy? Aleah is in a rut. Her husband went from a loving great man to very abusive faster than she could ever imagine. He stops with abuse but ignores her all the time and then finally goes after another woman. A woman that is highly dangerous…and living a dark lifestyle that’s about to crumble….a simple fight ensues and all of them are involved in some way or another. Will they survive or fall trying? Review: A Thuggish, Ruggish Love

Synopsis:

Mackie Carter was ten years old when she put a bullet in her mother’s skull, taking her life. At age fourteen, she learned everything she could about her family’s drug connections. When she turned eighteen, she jumped heavily into the Carter family drug operation.

Blaze Carter had been groomed by his father to be the next Carter family kingpin. It was an inheritance that he rather not claim. But when circumstances beyond their families control left him and his little sister to fend for themselves, he steps up and takes the reigns.

Xavier Thomas proves that the apple never really does fall far from the tree! He grew up watching his mother suffer at the hands of his father. He was brutal in his treatment of her and his entire family. Xavier swore that he would never treat another human the way that his father treated them. Now all grown up and with a wife if his own, that old saying is proving true.

Aleah was on the fast track to success. Valedictorian of her high school class, she set out to make her mark on the world. Freshman year in college, she met her soulmate. She and Xavier were inseparable. The next logical step was marriage.

As the stress of finding a job and taking care of a family begin to weigh in on Xavier, they must decide if their love is strong enough to stand the test of domestic violence, infidelity and just plain old selfishness.

Xavier’s little sister Keya is trying her best to keep her brother and his wife together. Although she knows that the relationship is toxic, she tries to keep hope alive believing that all things eventually work out for good.

As these characters’ paths cross and solace is sought where it shouldn’t be, who will be left standing and reaping the benefits of a million dollar operation?

Review:

A Thuggish, Ruggish Love by Regina Swanson is out of this world. Readers are taken deep into the shadows of a much darker and harder lifestyle. Like that of a drug gangster operation. Regina Swanson brilliantly brings the urban street life to reality within these pages. Her characters are to die for…siblings looking out for another after they lost their parents. With only each other they turn, to a life, that could drag them down or bring them up in the world. The plot thickens with danger and an intensity that blew me away. I was held in suspense as the danger of inner family turmoil as well as the cheating and drug handling operations swayed from good to bad…and then back. The ending will have readers on the edge of their seats holding their breath.

A Thuggish, Ruggish Love is a romance that carries a lot of sex, drugs, and other adult material. However, it shows what the lives of the characters were like and how they struggled day to day with everything. From family to business to relationships…nothing is easy. Especially, when there are violence and others waiting to take the characters down…Regina Swanson’s writing is well told and highly entertaining. There’s never a boring moment in her plot. I never knew what to expect nor what would happen on the next page. I finished this incredible urban street romance in one sitting. Cannot wait to read her second and third novels in this exciting series. A Thuggish, Ruggish Love is addictive….the characters stay with you forever. Overall, I highly recommend this new title to readers everywhere.

Review:

Get Rich or Die Trying by Brittany McBryde is truly an intriguing novel. There’s action, drama, sex, and danger on every page. There are two sisters each one is married to one of the two Martin brothers. Each guy cheats on his wife but when one man’s wife cheats on him…he feels broken. But so is she. The man she cheated with was angry at her for questioning why he told everyone including her husband about their baby they were going to have. This almost led to a shot out. From that day on Money’s wife was never the same. She goes to feeling emotional to ashamed to depressed. Rain’s life is on the line…and her sister Rome must help her..before she’s lost forever. Then there’s the drama and trouble of Rome’s theft heist that has her shaking with worry. Never has there ever been any issues until her latest heist. Rich told her not to do the dirty jobs anymore…but she wouldn’t…maybe she will learn her lesson…

Get Rich or Die Trying is exciting to read. A group who have worked together to steal money to get where they are now…are now dealing with family issues as well as threats. Infidelity issues and a job gone wrong, as well as the suspicion, of how they all came, into money, from nowhere, will leave this incredible set of characters fighting to get rich or die trying. The plot moves super fast and gives readers little time to figure it out before new trouble brews. Brittany McBryde’s novel is suspenseful and kept me turning the pages. I was blown away by the characters’ stories within the overall story. The emotions as well as the characters’ actions will captivate readers and keep them hooked. Overall, I highly recommend this novel to readers everywhere.

Review:

Toca Swanson has done it once again! Her second novel inside this crazy addictive series has it hit off of the charts so high. The drama is higher and better than ever. Ride It Til’ the Wheels Fall Off 2 is another fabulous hit by Toca Swanson. I was once more swept into the drama series. The story is told from each characters’ point of view. I loved reading the novel that angle. Each characters’ point of view only adds to the trouble brewing ahead as always. As the tale progressed…the tension was building up and not just from one character but from all of them. Each one has their own take on life and once they decide on what they want there is no stopping them.

Ride It Til’ the Wheels Fall Off 2 by Toca Swanson is like watching an Urban soap opera come to life. All the characters play a major role in adding to the masterpiece. Amber from book one is still going after Brad. Brad knows she’s a crazy chick and won’t stop unless he does something. Faith is confused by the men in her life and doesn’t know what she really feels yet. Then there’s Sonya who was once with Taylor. The Taylor that is best of friends with Faith and loves only her. Taylor and Faith have slept together…Sonya is wanting Taylor back and is planning on using her pregnancy to tie him to her…however, the baby isn’t his and Sonya has also slept with others. Where life will take these crazy unforgettable characters next is something that readers have to find out on their own. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this second novel and following what happened after book one. There’s also, a surprise twist and suspense to keep me turning the pages in a race to find all the juicy details. As always, Toca Swanson doesn’t disappoint readers and keeps bringing a hot steamy tale to all. Overall, I highly recommend this exciting urban fiction to readers everywhere.

Review: A Dangerous Love

Synopsis:

I’m the local sheriff of a small Montana town. Blue is the owner of the local pub. We have a great friendship, but I’m starting to want more. I’m not sure when Blue had become so important to me, or when I started to see her in a light other than friendship. All I know is that I want her, badly. She’s a little hesitant, at first, to get involved, but I finally convince her to go out on a ‘real’ date with me.

Soon after our initial date, she starts getting harassed and threatened. Her pub is even set on fire. Someone is after her, and we don’t know who or why, but it definitely has something to do with her involvement with me. Will our new, budding relationship survive the turmoil and danger?

Review:

A Dangerous Love by G.J. Cox is superb. I was immediately taken into the life of one very sexy sheriff whose beyond wealthy and a sassy lady who owns a bar. Both of these characters with their personalities, love, and life troubles had me intrigued.  Their instant hot chemistry filled the pages. Both are so crazy about each other and when they suddenly let it all out…the heat burns up…like a one-hundred-degree summer day. Jealousy, danger, and a hot romance all are on the line in this magnificent title by G.J. Cox. This was the first of her novels that I have ever read…and I was blown away by the compelling plotline and the irresistible characters. The story was fast-paced, steamy, and suspenseful. If it’s not one dangerous thing…it’s another…and the two characters…both Blue and her sheriff lover may lose each other if the criminal or criminals are not caught soon. A Dangerous Love is addictive, highly entertaining, and overall a must read for readers everywhere. I highly recommend this romance to all.

Review: Just A Number

Review:

Just A Number by Fifi Flowers is brilliant. It took me through a realistic side of life but one that soon took on a hot sexy irresistible journey. The ride throughout the steamy tale is one that hooked me from the beginning and held my attention to the last page. I was glued to the book. A young business woman lets her wild friend lead her to a bar for some fun and drinks. That’s where this story really takes off…the inevitable moment where two souls collide under fate. Each main character has basically the same rule…one-time thing nothing more. But that’s not what happens between Dash Oliver and Willow Dane. When two people decide that they only want sex or need to have it to just satisfy their sex craving of the other person…it’s never that easy. Sex is always complicated…unless you are able to block all feelings and emotions…the hot sex always leads to more sex….and more sex…leads to hearts on the line. The question is will Willow and Dane survive through their fling, or will it break them in ways they didn’t expect? Just A Number is incredibly addictive, fast-paced, and easy to read in one sitting. Once you read this novel by Fifi Flowers, it will leave you begging for more hot reads. The talent of this amazing writer is obvious from page one. The characters and dilemma kept me entranced throughout the entire novel. Overall, I highly recommend this riveting romance to readers everywhere.

Review: That Girl from Summer Hill

Synopsis:

Enter Elizabeth Bennet. Chef Casey Reddick has had it up to here with men. When she arrives in the charming town of Summer Hill, Virginia, she leaves behind a demanding boss at a famous D.C. restaurant and a breakup with a boyfriend jealous of her success. Some peace and quiet on the picturesque Tattwell plantation is just what she needs to start fresh. But the tranquility is broken one misty morning when she sees a gorgeous naked man on the porch of her cottage.

Enter Mr. Darcy. What Tate Landers, Hollywood heartthrob, and owner of Tattwell, doesn’t need on a bittersweet trip to his ancestral home is a woman spying on him from his guest cottage. Mistaking Casey for a reporter, Tate tries to run her out of her own house. His anger, which looks so good on the screen, makes a very bad first impression on Casey. Hollywood he may be, but he’s no sweetheart to Casey—and she lets him know it!

The plot thickens. Sparks fly—literally—when Casey is recruited to play Elizabeth Bennet opposite Tate’s Mr. Darcy in a stage adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. Just brushing past Tate makes Casey’s whole body hum. As they spar on and off stage, Casey begins to think she’s been too quick to judge. Tate is more down-to-earth than Casey expected, and she finds herself melting under his smoldering gaze. But then Tate’s handsome ex-brother-in-law, Devlin Haines, who is playing Wickham, tells Casey some horrifying stories about Tate. She is upset and confused as she tries to figure out who and what to believe. As she finds herself falling for Tate, Casey needs to know: Is the intense, undeniable chemistry between them real, or is this just a performance that ends when the curtain falls?

Review:

The Girl from Summer Hill by Jude Deveraux has just become my new favorite. Her characters spark an interest that is hard to ignore. The heated debates, the sexual tension, and the role of the characters creates an irresistible read. I found my myself intrigued from the beginning until the end. The Girl from Summer Hill is indeed very much like my favorite classic, Pride and Prejudice. Jude Deveraux’s writing is intense, dramatic, and romantic. I loved reading this story of hers as well as meeting these new characters.  I laughed, cried, and fell in love immediately.

Inside this brilliant tale, readers like myself get to meet a bold man who happens to be a very popular among the women and is a top movie star. Next, there’s a young woman who is a great cook, sweet, and finds the aka male movie star soaping his nude form out in the rain by her front door…she thought she was dreaming…they fight over it and she ends up hating him…only now that she sees him all the time and both playing leading parts in Pride and Prejudice…love may just be in the air. Then there are those electric sparks they both feel around another…maybe the Mr. Darcey and Elizabeth Bennet will find their happy ending in both the play and in real life. The Girl from Summer Hill is full of humor, wit, and romance. I can’t get enough of this juicy read and the plot that hooked me in all the way. Jude Deveraux is definitely a talented writer who brought out my favorite story and turned it into another amazing tale. I absolutely loved this novel, and I highly recommend it to readers worldwide.

Book Review: Inside the Lines by Ally Bishop

Inside the Lines is a red-hot novel featuring the main character as a Dom. Known as the Mistress Hathaway, she is doing the unexpected and going to the client instead of him coming to her. This one client has the potential of making the mysterious MIss Hathaway come completely undone. He has a way of unveiling her layers that she has spent so much time building up until he finds the real her. The woman underneath. Fin MacKenzie is sexy, hot, and a  gorgeous Scotsman who makes her rethink everything she has built. Miss Hathaway knows, she must stop what is happening between them but at the same time can’t stop her uncontrollable feelings towards this one man. And even though Miss Hathaway secretly would love to be a submissive, will she allow the Scotsman to make her his submissive? And what about all her rules as a Dom? Can Miss Hathaway stay inside the lines or will Fin MacKenzie cause her to stray from inside the lines?

My New Novel: Our Love Story Part 1

Prologue

There was this man who made a certain woman’s heart melt with each passing day. He was a United States Naval Engineer. He was a writer. A talented writer, whose words could bring to life any character from his books. He fell in love with a very average, every day, plain woman. They shared a passion for writing like nothing else. They communicated every day about their writing. Little did they know that it would soon lead them into loving each other so deeply.

Theresa

I couldn’t believe just how fast James could write his new novels. If only every other writer including myself could write at half his speed and half the amount he does, we would all be best sellers by now. His science fiction novels have everything I love in them. Adventure, intrigue, mystique, and romance! Haha. Yep. One must love romance. For the world has so little real love left within it.

Everyday I would log onto the Writer’s Cafe website and post my new poems and a few pieces o my fiction.  Soon, I had one major admirer. His name was James. He captured my attention with each one of his comments. Such a sweet man.  So, I returned the favor and read his writing. I was very weary at first. I wasn’t into science fiction nor fantasy of any kind. That was until after I read his first book. Then his second and later on his third and fourth novels.

I was lured into his magical world where two kingdoms ruled by two sisters were at war with each other. They weren’t at war with each other due to hatred. The evil sister, Laxur, loved her good baby sister. But would get annoyed with her sister for interfering with her plans. Laxur wanted to take control of both kingdoms and the rest of the world. But in order to do that she had to cause a lot of destruction and chaos. Did she succeed? That I am not going to say, but I will say it was definitely worth reading.

James and I started to talk about our writing back and forth each day. Soon, and I don’t know how it got into the relationships talk but it did. We talked about ourselves and we just started to like each other more and more.

James has a way o brightening up my world. My world is chaotic on a daily basis. More downs than ups. And he just lights up my whole day. Just a simple conversation about how wee are and what we did and then our stories, would cheer me up. I soon learned that James was the one man on earth who could truly love a woman and honor with so much respect that no woman could ever turn away from that kind of love. I needed that kind of love. And James had a ton of it to share.

James lives next door to me and I love every moment of it. He has a huge family. Something, I envy him for. My family is shrinking as we speak.  His father is a veteran. And he has other relatives that have served honorable as well. I found that to be amazing to have a family of each generation who has served in the military. James has an adorable loving super cute cat. This amazing cat of his is a solid black beauty that goes around exterminating all the insects around and walks around the house like he owns the place. Bulgaria can is a fascinating cat that can somehow open up doors. He doesn’t enjoy taking baths nor being picked up, but he loves attention and he loves sleeping by his daddy, James. Especially, now with the super cold weather. Bulgaria sleeps right on top of Jame’s lap, keeping him warming during the night. I love these super sweet moments.  They are my two adorable men. James, always makes me feel special and loved. No matter how bad my days are or how much I whine and complain; he always listens to me and loves me still.  He is the man of my very heart and soul.
