Review: Marry Me at Christmas by Susan Mallery

Marry Me at Christmas (Fool's Gold, #19)

Synopsis:

Wish upon a Christmas star with New York Times bestselling author Susan Mallery’s sparkling Fool’s Gold romance!

To bridal boutique owner Madeline Krug, organizing a Christmas wedding sounds like a joy—until she finds out she’ll be working closely with the gorgeous brother of the bride, movie star Jonny Blaze. How will a small-town girl like her keep from falling for the world’s sexiest guy? Especially with mistletoe lurking around every corner!

Jonny came to Fool’s Gold looking for normal, not for love. Happily-ever-after only happens in the movies. Still, nothing about this quirky town is quite what he expected, and “ordinary” Madeline is the most extraordinary woman he’s ever met. Refreshingly honest, disarmingly sweet. Achingly beautiful.

Planning the perfect wedding leads to candlelit dinners and strolls through snow-covered streets. And Madeline finds Jonny in real life even more captivating than her celebrity crush. But will the action star be brave enough to risk his heart and step into the role of a lifetime?

Review:

Marry Me at Christmas by Susan Mallery is an enchanting tale of hope and dreams. A young woman who owns a bridal shop, ends up planning a wedding for another young woman. The woman’s wedding that she is planning happens to be the sister of her crush movie star. Madeline wants to jump with excitement but she is also weary of Johnny. Johnny is a big star with his career getting the best of him. He feels like he needs something more. Only he does not realize what that is or how to find it, until he meet Madeline. Madeline has Johnny’s full attention. She’s charming and full of life. A breath of fresh air compared to the other women he’s used to meeting. Madeline helps his sister with her wedding and they both get to know each other better. Maybe, love is real and can happen to anyone…Susan Mallery does not disappoint in this title. The spirit of Christmas and the joy of the season are on every page. A blossoming friendship and a dream of happily ever after might just be in the air. Overall, I loved reading this clean romance and recommend it to others.

Review: Sisters Like Us by Susan Mallery

Synopsis:

The grass is always greener on your sister’s side of the fence…

Divorce left Harper Szymanski with a name no one can spell, a house she can’t afford and a teenage daughter who’s pulling away. With her fledgling virtual-assistant business, she’s scrambling to maintain her overbearing mother’s ridiculous Susie Homemaker standards and still pay the bills, thanks to clients like Lucas, the annoying playboy cop who claims he hangs around for Harper’s fresh-baked cookies.

Spending half her life in school hasn’t prepared Dr. Stacey Bloom for her most daunting challenge—motherhood. She didn’t inherit the nurturing gene like Harper and is in deep denial that a baby is coming. Worse, her mother will be horrified to learn that Stacey’s husband plans to be a stay-at-home dad…assuming Stacey can first find the courage to tell Mom she’s already six months pregnant.

Separately they may be a mess, but together Harper and Stacey can survive anything—their indomitable mother, overwhelming maternity stores and ex’s weddings. Sisters Like Us is a delightful look at sisters, mothers and daughters in today’s fast-paced world, told with Susan Mallery’s trademark warmth and humor.

Review:

Sisters Like Us by Susan Mallery is funny, realistic, and the most engaging women’s fiction novel, that I’ve ever read. This, is a story about the relationships between mothers and daughters. Quirky, sweet, and heartfelt were these pages. It felt like it was nonfiction but entertaining like fiction. Yet, it really is fiction…which made me like it even more. Susan Mallery captured life between these women perfectly. They fought, cried, and laughed. But in the end, they love and respect each other. No matter what, the were there for each other.

First, there is Harper. A forty-two-year-old divorced woman. Harper is raising her daughter on what little her ex gives and what she can make as a single mother. Life isn’t easy to balance. Harper works so much she forgets to listen and spend more time with her daughter. Her daughter feels like Harper doesn’t love her anymore. She never listens. Just works all the time.

Second, there’s Harper’s mom, who forced Harper to give up her dreams and live the life she lived. Harper’s mother is always telling Harper how to raise her own daughter and how she’s lacking as a mother figure. Harper and her sister always have to tiptoe around their mother. Fear of not having their mom happy or proud of them keeps them having secrets.

Third, is Harper’s sister, Stacey. Stacey is a lab researcher. Super smart and gorgeous, Stacey is happily married and expecting. Only her mother doesn’t know…then, there’s the fear of her not loving her own child and not being a good mother. Stacey’s husband defends her and is willing to stay as a stay-at-home dad. He loves Stacey. Yet she fears she lose both him and their child.

Fourth, is Harper’s daughter. This girl has had it rough as a teen. Her parents divorce, her friends move, and another friend accuses her of being boring. She feels like her mother doesn’t listen to her at all. Her grades are slipping in some classes and she’s not sure what she wants to study for college. Then, there’s her father who breaks his promises and doesn’t do anything with her. To make things even more complicated, there’s Lucas. He’s the next door guy. Always paying her mom for doing his stuff. He respects Harper and her daughter. In fact Harper’s daughter feels like a daughter he never had. I love the sweet moments when the girl tells him stuff that makes him uncomfortable and she needs advice….it was both funny and heartfelt. Also, a new guy her age moves in with her aunt. Ashton is super hot…and it’s not long before she crushes on him…

Overall, Sisters Like Us is amazing. It’s so easy to love and understand. The characters were believable. The scenes were interesting. There was a rollercoaster of emotions as the plot unfolded. I enjoyed reading this novel. After reading this, I can’t wait to see what Susan Mallery comes up with next. I highly recommend this to readers worldwide.

Review: A Fool’s Gold Christmas

A Fool's Gold Christmas (Fool's Gold, #9.5)

Synopsis:

The unrelenting cheer in Fool’s Gold, California, is bringing out the humbug in dancer Evie Stryker. She learned early on that Christmas miracles don’t happen, at least not for her. And this year seems like no exception. An injury has forced her to return to the family fold, no matter that they’re estranged. She won’t add to the awkward scenario by being seduced by the bad-boy charms of her brother’s best friend, the last man she should ever want to date. Even when she’s recruited to stage the Fool’s Gold winter festival, she vows to do as promised, then move forward with her life anywhere but here.

Jaded lawyer Dante Jefferson is getting used to the backwater town he now reluctantly calls home, but the pounding of little dancers’ feet above his temporary office is more than any man should have to take! When he confronts their gorgeous teacher, he’s unprepared for the attraction that sears him down to the soul. Evie is his best friend’s sister–off-limits unless he’s willing to risk his heart. Dante has always believed that love is the most dangerous force in the universe, but that was before he had to reckon with the magic of a certain small town, where miracles do seem to happen…

Review:

A Fool’s Gold Christmas by Susan Mallery is a heartfelt read. Charming, sweet, and entertaining. Susan Mallery has talent. Creating new worlds that excite, as well as leaving me to fall in love with the protagonists. A woman comes to a small-town to help a dance instructor. She came back because she injured her leg and can’t dance. While trying to run a dance recital from scratch with little knowledge, Evie feels terrified of failing. Then, add to her distress of her crush being next door to her. Chemistry sparks between the two. Cozy, fun, and warm. But like everything else, there’s always a bumpy road. No destination easy. Dante thought he knew what he wanted. Fate shows him something his heart desires and he runs scared. Where that will leave them, is the mystery. I think Evie is too easy on Dante. He should have worked a bit harder. However, I reealized that this read was a Christmas tale and as always there is a miracle. Once more, I enjoyed reading a book written by Susan Mallery.

Review:

The Friends We Keep by Susan Mallery is heart melting and addictive. Every single novel of hers lures readers in like a moth to a flame. Readers can’t avoid an irresistible story and that’s exactly what The Friends We Keep is. Emotionally readers can easily attach themselves to Susan Mallery’s characters. Especially to Gabby and her step-daughter. Teen pregnancy is hard to deal with and when the young father leaves everything about the young stepdaughter’s life seems to crash. At first, we can feel and understand Gabby’s angry at first and then, later, on it blooms into something else. Family life is the strongest theme, within this novel. Friendships that we keep is another strong theme that readers love. When life comes crumbling downward…our friends are there to pick us back up.

Book Review: Kiss Me by Susan Mallery

Susan Mallery has done it again in her latest novel, Kiss Me. A sweet, funny, and heart warming romance that readers will love. A stubborn cowboy and one city girl…will this hard cowboy be able to keep his control after just one kiss or will the city girl have him pulled in afterwards?

I choose this book because I have read Susan Mallery’s other novels and wanted to read this one too. The cover told me all I wanted to know. Kiss Me, had me lured. All it takes is one incredible kiss by the right person and your life completely changes. But does it change for the worse or for the best for the city girl and this cowboy. Phoebe ends up loving the sexy cowboy, Zane Nicholson. Zane’s feelings are anything but warm and fuzzy. He wants her gone. Until a brief shared kiss has his world shattering to pieces. Will Phoebe end up leaving the ranch or will Zane come to his senses and beg her to stay with him forever?

I loved reading this novel. It’s sexy hot, yet very much a good  western clean romance. A contemporary romance story that will leave you feeling lighthearted and warm from head to toe. I enjoyed reading the two characters who come from opposite ends of the world yet, share something that will send sparks flying everywhere. Only a fool would let go of someone who means a lot to them. Here in Kiss Me, readers are taken into a world of love, hope, and challenges. Susan Mallery’s talent never ends. Overall, I rate this novel a five out of five stars.

Book Review: Thrill Me by Susan Mallery

Susan Mallery is a best-selling author whose novels are very popular with readers. I am a huge fan of her amazing stories and strong characters. Her addictive plots will leave readers breathlessly in love each and every time. I have not read a novel by Susan Mallery that was not as brilliantly well written as the one before it. Inside each novel there are themes of family, courage, love. They will instantly sweep you off your feet and deep into a realistic world that can have it all.

Thrill Me by Susan Mallery is a must read. A romance novel that tells of one woman and man who fall in love with each other and suddenly have doubts. Enough doubts that would send Maya Farlow running away because she thought that the one man whom she loved broke her heart. Then there’s the man she fell in love with, Del Mitchell. He went to make a name for himself only to find that he lost the woman he loved. Now, fate has brought them both back together and both are feeling heart broken. Can these two who must work together, find the strength to rebond their love that they still feel? Thrill Me will definitely thrill readers with the risk of falling in love with two incredible characters by Susan Mallery. I highly recommend reading this beautifully written story and follow the characters as their lives are once again about to change. Overall, I rate it a five out of five stars.

Book Review: The Girls of Mischief Bay by Susan Mallery

The Girls of Mischief Bay is one inspirational novel that will lead readers in discovering how friendship can help heal you in times of woe. Susan Mallery has masterfully created a realistic noel that brings out life’s tragedies and how real women deal with such situations. Readers can easily connect with each of the three women in this delightful and funny piece. I highly enjoyed reading about Nicole, Shannon, and Pam. Each friend comes from a different spot in life and with each other they are able to grow and move forward with new lives. Nicole owns her own business and struggles with taking care of everything including her little boy because her husband is working on a screen play. But as things continue, will her greatest fear of losing her husband come true? Then there’s Shannon, the man she really cares for can’t have kids and that’s one of the things she wants most. Fate will have to decide if they can have kids and each other. And last but not least there’s Pam. Tragedy strikes her the hardest but with her two friends maybe, just maybe she can continue being happy. Overall, I would definitely recommend this sensational novel by Susan Mallery. I no without a doubt readers will fall helplessly in love just as I did. The Girls of Mischief Bay is a must read for all.

Book Review: Hold Me by Susan Mallery

Hold Me is the perfect romantic read that readers will never want to stop reading. Both main characters struggle with the issue of letting their feelings fall where they may and just take whatever happens to them. Both are afraid to trust and worried about falling.  This brilliant romance by Susan Mallery definitely held  me.  I was hooked instantly. The oh so irresistible characters and the suspenseful plot lured me in me deeply. I would recommend this novel to all readers.  The story is about a woman who wants a quiet and simple life but, fate has something amazing in store for her. Her job on the search and rescue team lures her to the most attractive man ever. Kipling Gilmore is anything but quiet and safe. He awakens emotions that haven’t risen in Destiny Mill’s life until she’s placed in close quarters with the former world-class skier, Kipling Gilmore. Kipling is instantly drawn to this beautiful red-head but he’s afraid to fall. And Destiny is afraid to trust. Can these two learn to overcome their fears and let their feelings fly sky-high? Or will both fall away due to their fears?

But she knows that she should stay as far away from him as possible but fate makes it hard for both her and Kenny to stay away from falling in love with each other. Kenny is a famous NFL star who ends up meeting a single mom with a daughter. But when they are put together, he cant resist her at all. And neither can Bailey resist Kenny and his charm.
